Very shocking. If you consider they have million of hectares of arable land. But it's not shocking if you know - how lazy the communist are.
mtis:
Stunting currently affects 42 per cent of under five children, and is only a two percentage points lower than it was five years ago. The burden of stunting in Tanzania ranks third in Sub-Saharan Africa, after Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Child underweight (16 percent) also remains at unacceptable levels, and the country is not on track to achieve the MDG 1 target to reduce underweight by one-half by the year 2015. There are pockets of very high acute malnutrition, including Zanzibar where 12 per cent of children are affected. About one third of children age 6-59 months are iron deficient and vitamin A deficient, 69 percent are anaemic, and over 18 million Tanzanians do not consume adequately iodized salt.

Okay, if you didn't like FAO food security & nutrition data, let try Global HUNGER index. Global hunger index is designed to comprehensively measure and track hunger globally and by country and region. Calculated each year by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

http://www.globalhungerindex.org/results-2017/

GHI has been collected for years;1992,2000,2008,2017

Kenya as of 2017 is ranked 70 out 119 countries. Only South Africa & Ghana rank better than us in sub-Sahara Africa. You can see GHANA is always up there as one of Africa most progressive nations - together with Kenya and South Africa.

Tanzania - with arable land comparable to Nigeria & DRC - is ranked 97 - with Nigeria ranked at 84.

Kenya that is mostly semi-arid and arid (80%) - has consistently reduce the % of it's hungry people -
Kenya - 1992(39.1), 200(37.6),2008(29.6),2017(21.0)
Tanzania - 1992(42.9),2000(42.4), 2008(33.0),2017(28.cool

You can see the trend and acknowledge that our hardworking people - the majestic people of kenya - who live in land that can be 80% be described as barren - are fighting hunger - and next time Global Hunger Index will be compiled - we will be with South Africa - with about 10% of our people hungry. And by then TZ beggars would have overrun our country.

The solution for TZ hunger is simple. Open up you land for foreign ownership, let kenyans come and grow food for you. Not just maize and beans.

I trust scientific evidence. I know with you poor education -this is beyond your paygrade. Newspapers can spin anything. Our media is free to air anything unlike yours which is under serious gov control.

There has never been a famine in kenya since I think 1984 - famine is where someone starve to death - there is very regular drought because Kenya lies in sahara desertification zone --- but last time people died of hunger was somewhere in Ethiopia.

Let try reputable news - Just a year ago
https://www.reuters.com/article/tanzania-hunger-idUSL5N1GJ5CP
Most Tanzanians have experienced hunger in the past three months, with food shortages most severe in drought-hit rural areas, a countrywide survey found, despite government denials of a food crisis.

The survey by Tanzanian think tank Twaweza found that 78 percent of people had suffered food shortages in the past three months. In rural areas the figure rose to 84 percent compared to 64 percent in cities.

The findings came despite repeated government denials that the East African country was suffering food shortages. President John Magufuli has accused opposition politicians of fomenting a “fake” hunger crisis.

Just like hunger that your deny - your poor education shines throu grin. You're perhaps the best to emerge from TZ really pathetic education system - 99% of your O-level leavers cannot string a sentence in English.
https://allafrica.com/stories/201805070133.html
EDUCATION SYSTEM

His hard hitting sentiment comes just a week after he dismissed as a non-issue the question of many Tanzanian students completing their O Level education without the ability to communicate effectively in English.

President Magufuli made the remarks while sharing his views on the Tanzanian education system at University of Mkwawa in Iringa.

"We shouldn't feel inferior of our education system, just because someone is done with his Form 4 and can't speak or write a letter in English. Who said being learned is mastering the English language? The Chinese don't speak English but they manufacture the most deadly weapons in the world. So are the Russians, the Germans, the French," Magufuli said.

You missed out this factoid, somehow about the 'Giant.'

Nigeria has a serious hunger problem and ranks 84th out of 119 countries on the global hunger index — behind Togo, Kenya, Cameroon and Senegal according to the report.
https://persecondnews.com/2017/10/global-hunger-index/

Truly, inexplicable;a natural mystery with all that arable land and numerous giant rivers but then ofc it must be the population cause as we've been told many many times, large nations are more difficult to manage than small ones.
Quick! Someone post up Brazil and India.

The lamiest excuse - when you control 2% of world oil - when your export 2M barrels of oil daily. When you have 40% of Arable Land in country twice the size of semi-arid and arid Kenya. It MIND-BOGGLING. Let not talk about natural gas, iron ore and other minerals that Nigeria has. I tell you Nigeria, DRC and Tanzania are special kind of STUPID. I'd rank Nigeria slightly better, followed by Tanzania but DRC is obviously the worst of the worst.

1) You have displayed a "lack of integrity" in deliberately looking to create misdirections in what the argument was about. Hence, rambling about distinctions between Hong Kong and other autonomous enclaves around the world, when the only thing I disputed was your claim that autonomy and independence are the same thing which has since been "confined to the trash can where it belongs" despite your laughable attempts at misdirections on your own statement.

2) Hong Kong is not independent "for all intents and purposes". At best, it is independent "for most intents and purposes". Which effectively still means that a non-sovereign territory which is still subordinate to China in military and diplomatic affairs and an expiring Sino-British treaty which will terminate within the next 2 decades (putting Hong Kong completely at the mercy of Chinese whims) is not "independent for all intents and purposes". Infact, if China wanted to rip up the Sino-British treaty right now, it can and there's not a damn thing anyone can do to change it, though they'll certainly come under intense diplomatic sanctions like Russia did after its Crimea activities. Independence is not the same as autonomy as you claimed. You can keep trying hard to wriggle out of that fallacy and keep failing. Best to choose the path of "integrity" and acknowledge you were talking rubbish when you said that before.

3) You didn't answer my earlier question: is Kenya more developed than Nigeria or not? Let me understand what this interminable thread is really about. Is Kenya more developed than Nigeria or not?

And no, Kenya having a higher HDI is not just about population. Sure, greater demographic control helps, but it's ultimately about policies and will. India have dragged hundreds of millions of people out of poverty afterall while Nigeria's poverty-stricken numbers have only risen. Kenya's poverty incidence rate has fallen sharply in the last decade by 10%, unlike Nigeria:
https://www.worldbank.org/en/country/kenya/publication/kenya-economic-update-poverty-incidence-in-kenya-declined-significantly-but-unlikely-to-be-eradicated-by-2030

I've said what I care to about the TI corruption perception index, and don't care to keep repeating myself really.
Yes for all intents and purposes Hong Kong and Taiwan are independent. I maintain my stand. Unless of course you don't know what the term "for all intents and purposes" means. I can help you there: it means: in all practical sense. What the heck is "for most intents and purposes"? You probably just coined that in your dubious fashion. If anyone has displayed a lack of integrity here it is clearly you with your saying one thing and later claiming you never said it.I should have put a stop to this conversation at that point for I normally do not like dealing with mendacious people.grin I am still waiting for the reason for that lie. It in validates whatever you have to say to me and affects the open mindedness with which I should consider your posts.
That's enough said on the Hong Kong/Taiwan issue unless you desire to elongate it. In that case I will oblige you freely. grin
I asked you a direct question for days now and having failed to provide a direct answer, you are now left as your sole lifeline, asking me if Kenya is more developed than Nigeria. Wether I believe that or not is clear from my stance here so far. Why you brought India into this beats my understanding. You should compare India with a smaller Asian country and not an African country, Nigeria. Say Indonesia and India. Or Nigeria and another large subsaharan country. That's grasping at straws. Nobody is saying Nigeria is doing well but things can improve and will improve. Not every one has given up hope or is ready to assume the worst about our country and stupidly articulate such assumptions. That is: if you are really one of us ,at heart ,and not against your will. grin grin grin grin grin

Of course I maintain my stand because it is correct and not because this is a faceless forum. That's still better than you who lied shamelessly and got exposed. For all intents and purposes Hong Kong is independent. That's not the same thing as saying Hong Kong is independent indeed and entirely. Well,it's clear you no longer hold on to your spurious claim that those two countries,Hong Kong and Taiwan never wanted to have anything to do with China. That's one of the two points of this back and forth. grin I wonder why you are saying Taiwan is independent? You want to start another thing you will not be able to finish, abi. When did Taiwan declare its independence? Does the United Nation recognize Taiwan as an independent country? What privileges does Taiwan enjoy that hong Kong does not? Taiwan competes at the Olympics as Chinese Taipei while Hong Kong competes as Hong Kong, China.grin Both do not sit at the UN. The only difference is that while Hong Kong doesn't care so much to be seen as a region of China but with its own jurisdictional powers,Taiwan on the other hand continues to fume and burn trying to curry the favour of the international community to no avail to recognize Taiwan as an independent country since they have given up hope of regaining control of China proper.
And yes,the comparison with India is moot. Nigeria didn't exist before the British came and the main parts that make up Nigeria had little or nothing to do with one another. They were all just slapped together disregarding their backgrounds. Meanwhile India had been prominent under different ancient dynasties before the British got there and was already trading seriously with the outside world. They had manufacturing companies long before there was anything like Nigeria or Gold coast. It's a matter of history, my boy ,that separates us and not a matter of the African being inferior to the Indiat. So in an African setting, population counts a lot. That is why ,even comparing Nigeria to small Kenya, Kenya is still faring badly. My argument with you was about something entirely different from the direction you've taken it, in your desperation and goalpost shifting ,by bringing the Kenyans in thinking you could get succour from them. But I will still oblige you.And my question remains, in how many African countries have you experienced life for you to come to the realization that no other country can be more corrupt than Nigeria? That's the second crux of this argument. The first is the Hong Kong issue.
