Thanks for pointing that out. I misread it. But I think she is a better candidate than most in terms of getting visa: PhD and full scholarship. All she has to do is to show home tie. It will complicate her application if the same supervisor who is funding her will also act as her visa sponsor except I also misread that part. I believe she will get the visa easily without much complications. toludadon: 1 Like |

geotherm: The supervisor is not funding me. The university gave full funding. However, the supervisor can act as my co-sponsor since proof of financial means is compulsory regardless of scholarship status. And thanks for the words of encouragement. I was almost thrown apart when I read of high rejection rates here. 1 Like |

11111funmi: In respect to the gcms note you shared, I have the following to say : The Visa officer outrightly indicated that the you submitted insufficient evidence or lack of travel history. You have failed to convince the visa officer the reasonableness and lucrativeness of undertaking such a program in Canada at a high expense when there are similar available program offered here in Nigeria at a cheaper rate. The Visa officer is looking after the range of career options and prospects available for you on your return to Nigeria, if it is financially rewarding that would offset the cost of your studies in Canada. You have also not satisfied the visa officer that the possibility of funding for future years will exist from your guarantor/applicant. In your next application, work on presenting a detailed SOP that will explain the above aforementioned. Add sufficient documents to evidence your sponsor source of income (if gainfully employed include: employment letters, payslips, promotion letters, introductory letter from employer etc....) (If self employed, include CAC certificate, article of association and memorandum, tax clearance certificate, sales and purchase invoices etc....). Furthermore, the amount of sponsorship funds per each academic year should be stated, how sponsor intends to cater for his/her dependents while suiting for your bills in Canada, and a written assurance from sponsor in his/her letter of sponsorship and sworn affidavit of support that funds will be made available during your upcoming year of study. |

Hello, You guys are doing a great job here. Lastweek I applied for M.ed in curriculum teaching and learning for Fall 2019 admission at the University of Manitoba. I decided to message my department today and I was told admission will be given by March next year. I'm confused right now. I decided to apply early so that I can apply for visa on-time in case if it's rejected the first time sonthat I will have enough time to re-apply. Gurus in the house, how true is this ,because we know how visa process works in Nigeria. Although I plan to apply to two more schools by October but what do you think about the response I got from the school. 1 Like

dedecoder: You are far too kind! I appreciate you loads for the support/advice. I will look into this thread to find other S.O.P template and start building up a formidable one to use. But first of all, I need to get her to apply for a PGD course in information systems or related course. Thanks very much and God bless. |

Well you using the word ‘trying’ may sound ambiguous in the sense that the hbp has not been properly managed. Yes Canada rejects applicants that would become a burden to the Canadian government health wise. The good part is hbp can be managed with proper medication. I suggest you continue your medication and do your medicals when your blood pressure is at norm. Also attached is a moniker from the Express entry thread that was able to scale medicals as a hypertensive patient. rebeccausoro: 1 Like

How do I go about it and what is the possibility getting admission and the visa considering the lenght of time I've been out of school cos I want to apply with my O level results. 1 Like |

[quote author=harrisonxury post=70578706] Carleton University is among the three universities I'm looking at. But I don't think they have begun or opened their new applications for next year fall admission until early October of this year. Or are you planning to resume in this year Fall Term? [no I applied for winter 2019 January session am still waiting for admission officer ] |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Nobody: 12:08am On Aug 25, 2018 |
No one holds a better opinion than the school that would issue the admission. If they say you should expect a feedback by March 2019, then I presume the wise thing to do is to sit back and wait for the feedback. Perhaps if there’s no feedback, you may write to the school using the afore-attached letter as a reference to instigate faster processing of your admission application. segtak25: 1 Like |

Well according to the Elders, What stops you from going straight for a Masters programme. 2:2 is not an excuse for not securing a masters admission. So when going for a PGD, you’re to convince the VO why a PGD and not a Masters. You can’t let the VO know that you didn’t choose a Masters because of your low grades. It defeats the purpose of going which is to seek higher education. From my point of view, after doing a PGD, stating you want to continue to do a Masters, doesn’t really show any signs of you returning back to your home country anytime soon because it shows you want to spend more time over there and that defeats the proof of returning. Instead of stating that you would proceed to do a masters after PGD, just make sure you buttress and thoroughly explicate the advantages of taking a PDG rather than a masters and it’s implications on your future/career goals. My 2 cents Rumuodara: |

segtak25: @segtak25, I'll advise you to apply to other schools as soon as possible, get you admission before the end of this year and apply for your visa latest February. The processing time would not exceed 6-7 weeks around February. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 3:23am On Aug 25, 2018 |
rebeccausoro: If you have full scholarship you don’t need a conspsor. Many have been approved without even a bank statement that are on full scholarship. Just include the award letter in your application. The only time you are going to need a Co-sponsor is if your award does not cover your entire expenses. And you can include your bank statement to show that you have funds to pay for your ticket to Canada because that independently can be a ground for denial. Of course showing ties too to Nigeria that will induce your return, is necessary. Under no circumstances should a supervisor be a consponsor. That would be a red flag, except that supervisor is related to you. 1 Like |
