There's something i'm struggling to understand though. If they shut down AIIA Enugu over the christmas period last year, with the excuse that they wanted to fix the runway, how come there was this uproar a few months ago about the decrepit state of this same AIIA runway that they shut the airport to fix?

Look, wen Stella Oduah said she would build an International Airport in Enugu, Yoruba press threw everything they had at her.

Wen i say yoruba press, i mean Tinubu media house i.e Sahara Reporters and TVC.

OBJ declared war on GEJ. (the origin of hatred for GEJ till date)

They got into government on the back of Buhari, the first thing they did was to change the design of Enugu Airport.

They could not kill the project becos it had already near completion stage.

We all know Stella Oduah son was later murdered at a Turkish Hospital, wen they could not get her.

The truth of the matter is Yoruba never wanted Enugu International Airport just as they dont want a deep seaport in the East.

Any government that build a deep seaport in the east will be declared an enemy of Yoruba but they want to build railway to the East becos of oil and gas cargo.

I laugh wen our SS/SE politicians will be decieved to carry any project Yoruba suggest on their head like it is their idea.

This is how, Yoruba started shouting restructuring during Nnamdi Kanu activism, all of a sudden Igbo leaders started shouting restructuring.

How many Yoruba mention restructuring today?

Upper-Iweka yesterday evening.

The best mode of transport for the East is railway.
Railway is a mass transit mode of transport that can move over 100 people in one go
It will help to reduce road congestion.
Southeast should start a feasibility study into railway system for every part of the southeast.

Always deceiving yourself. Were you deaf when Ambode and other Lagos state government officials were calling on the FG to open up other ports in the country few months ago? An Igbo man is currently the minister of transportation and he is doing everything possible to open a deep seaport in badagry instead of dredging the onne port to make it a deep seaport and we are here still blaming Yoruba.

Afonja, this must be torture for you.

U sit with us here from morning to night, y dont u go and talk to your yoruba people?

Ambode is calling for River ports of recent when the blockage in Lagos got out of hand.

More deep seaport in Lekki and another in Badagry, plus the other two already in operation and u say it is igbo people that are greedy.

The main point here is the South east has a coastline and the same way Federal government built deep seaport in Lagos, they should do so in the East.

It is unsatisfactory for all goods to arrive in Lagos and be transported through water ways, train and road to other parts of the country.

The SS/SE are not landlock like the North.

There ought to be a deep seaport in Opobo/Bonny and another in Akwa Ibom, if not CROSS Rivers.

He has always been a liability. I can recall vividly his issues with the former Anambra State governor, he single-handedly took us years back.

Since they're chameleons, when they finish changing to Igbo, they should let us know. Right now they're Bini and a random FB post isn't going to change it. Fool me once.

I hate this talk of building bridges and uniting. How were the Ikwere treated differently from any other Igbo tribe prior to the war? We haven't needed them for the past 50 years and we survived, I don't think we are going to start needing them now especially when thay don't bring much to the table. We should allow them settle issues with their Ijaw brothers and mind our own business.

I saw a break down of urban cities in Nigeria on Wikipedia and I decided to share it here. After seeing this list, I think this should be one of the major points we should use in promoting our region as the largest urban geopolitical zone in Nigeria. Another thing I noticed was that the Northwest geopolitical zone has 7 States.
Here is the statistics from demographia as written by Wikipedia:
Note: All Wikipedia's data on urban landmass are gotten from demographia.

Southeast: 29,525 sqkm
Number of recognized urban cities: 5
Onitsha: 1,965 sqkm
Nsukka: 645 sqkm
Aba: 91 sqkm
Owerri: 130 sqkm
Enugu: 78 sqkm
Urban Percentage: 9.85%

South south: 84,562 sqkm
Number of recognized urban cities: 4
Uyo: 729 sqkm
Port Harcourt: 158 sqkm
Benin City: 228 sqkm
Warri: 142 sqkm
Urban percentage: 1.49%

South west: 79,665 sqkm
Number of recognized urban cities: 6
Lagos: 1,425 sqkm
Ibadan: 466 sqkm
Ikorodu: 130 sqkm
Osogbo: 104 sqkm
Akure: 117 sqkm
Abeokuta: 62 sqkm
Urban percentage: 2.89%

North West: 176,303 sqkm
Number of recognized urban cities: 4
Kano: 251 sqkm
Kaduna: 153 sqkm
Zaria: 88 sqkm
Sokoto: 88 sqkm
Urban percentage: 0.33%

North Central: 242,425sqkm
Number of recognized urban cities: 3
Abuja: 225 sqkm
Ilorin: 83 sqkm
Jos: 70 sqkm
Urban percentage: 0.16%

North East: 272,395 sqkm
Number of recognized urban cities: 2
Maiduguri: 155 sqkm
Bauchi: 88 sqkm
Urban percentage: 0.09%

You can see clearly that Igbo hardwork pays and even those who claim to be more economically viable are not as urban as the south east. Assuming cities like Awka, Nnewi, Umuahia and Abakaliki were also taken into account, the SE urban percentage should have been around 15%-20%. Whenever anyone tells you that the SE is the most backward region in Nigeria, remind the person that the SE is the most urbanized geopolitical zone in Nigeria and back it up with data from Wikipedia. By the way, how can we promote the likes of Awka, Nnewi and other cities which were not taken into account so that they can be recognized as urban cities next year because, I see no reason why Ikorodu, Warri, Osogbo and Bauchi will make the list while Awka, Umuahia, Abakaliki and others will be left behind. It was also sad not to see my Asaba in that list. We also have much work to do in Enugu because I used to think that Owerri was the smallest urban capital in the east not knowing that it was our eastern capital city of Enugu. Nsukka's position in the list is also shocking. Abeg Spider88 should bring us more pics of Nsukka. From the stats, Onitsha is the largest urban city in Nigeria.
Nsukka position should not shock you. Nsukka has 7 densely populated local governments that forms a continuous sprawl similar to what you find in anambra state. The data is not about Nsukka town alone but the whole Nsukka area. Also onitsha data is that large because it took into account all the sprawling towns which may have included Nnewi. Enugu is not surrounded by densely populated towns that is it ranked low

EEDC is the enemy within. It is the enemy of Igbo progress. The saddest part about this is that it is owned by an igbo man, Emeka Offor. He is a big disgrace and one of the biggest obstacle to our ambitions to industrialize.

Anytime an Igbo person builds a power plant or tries to build one, he gets into a fight with them to stop them. He did it with Barth Nnaji and now he is also doing it to Ariaria traders who took the initiative to provide their own electricity.

Someone should tell that greedy bastard to retrace his steps.
Guy, stop writing trash! Offor owns d distributn network in d entire southeast dat he paid for in full after a successful bidding. He has no qualms with anyone building a power plant in d east but dat doesn't mean he wud stand and watch dem steal his distributn rights. He has told dem to build their plants and sell d power to his coy for resale to customers but geometric and d oda greedy intruder want to reap where dy didnt sow

Bia, this is a respectable forum. Stop posting Wikipedia things here.

You should have cited the page so i will change the data myself and post it here.

Mind you, i know SE is the most urbanized region in Nigeria. But Wikipedia isn't a credible source. Did you even notice that Nsukka and Osogbo are bigger than Aba? grin grin grin grin

You should know that much if you graduated from any university in Nigeria. My yoruba friend in school wrote everything about every Yoruba town there. I'm sure he wrote a few about Igbo, but didn't want to offend me by telling me. Please stop citing wikipedia in a respectable forum like this. You probably wrote some of that data.
You are making same mistake with the person you are quoting. Nsukka area is different from Nsukka town and since the area is closely built it is considered as a single urban space and in that case only anambra can have anything higher. The Nsukka group have been confirmed the largest igbo sub group followed by Ngwa

Blame Barth Nnaji himself who designed the power sector privatization template that way when he was power minister. He hoped to buy the southeast for himself but his greed boomeranged on him. And mind you, it is the same monopoly system in other zones, emeka offor's EEDC is not the exception.

Ameachi is making sure that Badagry seaport comes to fruition forgetting that his own state has a seaport that is almost not functional. As for Lekki seaport, that one is being built by the Lagos state government and private investors just the same way Umueri International Airport is being built in Anambra, the federal government does not have a hand in it. We should focus on Rotimi Ameachi rather than focusing on another ethnic group.

Please lets forget about these negative characters.

Let us focus on what contributes to the Igbo renaissance and not these crayfish characters.

As for Amechi, he knows he will not get Igbo support (because he is a traitor, not because he is Ikwerre), the same way Rochas already knows and says loudly Igbo won't support him as Igbo president. Rochas knows that Igbo know he is a traitor to our cause.
