nanyiaxxx: Most references are done online and so all you need confirm is that they are willing to write you a reference letter and include their emails in the reference spot on your application. |

cutelivia: If your dad had to use the money to make purchases, then get his account statement which ends a day before he made the withdrawal/purchase which should still reflect that there's money in his account. You're allowed to bring a statement of account within the last 6 months. I believe that should work hoping that you're not placed on AP and the account has to be checked. 4 Likes |

Ur delivery was poor. U need to do a lot of work and mock interviews with real peeps looking at you eye to eye and asking u same question in different forms. And know what's involved about ur course very well and the opportunities u have with studying computer engineering. Good luck next time. Refire! Flaame: 1 Like |

Hello all, I have never applied nor had an interview but will have my first next month (I know I’m probably not in the position to talk) and would soon been following this thread from part 1 and just an observation and what I have noticed is this: 1. Research: I noticed most people that had their success stories did plenty research on the school, the course, the university and the city. It is important to do all necessary research, that way you can build your confidence in such a way that you’re sure you know more about what you want to do than the interviewer. 2. Inspiration: This is what I have noticed the most, especially with Nigerian graduates, most of us don’t like what we studied and want to further the course (which is no problem) but if you cannot be inspired by what you want to study, then how do you want to convince someone how important what you want to study is to your life, and how do you want to impact your country upon return. You have to act the part, throw some lingua here and there, make the interviewer enjoy biological sciences or ICT even though it’s boring. Just talk about it like you’re so excited to go and explore. 3. Confidence: Without confidence, No 1 and No 2 won’t work, with your research, endeavour to be confident about yourself, they may deny you but give them your very best. Be confident in the way you talk and the way you look. Let him/her know you’re going to be an asset to the school you’re going to. 4. Courtesy: Trust me, courtesy gives you confidence and the interviewer can sense it, “thank you ma’am” “I’m fine, thank you and you?” Also if you don’t know how to talk with proper diction, I propose you learn it. 5. Documents: We all know the documents that are vital for these interviews, arrange them properly, the supporting documents also. I have worked overtime and know if you’ve worked with bosses that know their stuff you will always be prepared, everything needed to block questions, please bring it and don’t be scared to show them even if they just want to know. Show them. Block all the loopholes for denial, prepare like your life depends on it, because your life depends on it. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk. I wish everyone good luck in this and hope we all succeed when next we share our transcripts. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Flaame: Your first two response to the interview proper was a total turn off. Where is your school is different from which school are you going to... Secondly, you flopped when he asked you about the courses you will be taking. Your response was very poor and didn't show you are a genuine student. Physics, Chemistry and Statistics are not the courses you are going to take. Assuming you are going for Computer Science, Talk about Programming Languages, Internet Security, Database Management and Computer graphics as the courses you will offer. When he asked why this course, talk about your career plan and how the course will be advantageous to you, above all maintain ties to your country at this point. When he ask why the school, talk about your research plan or area of specialization, affordable tuition, scholarship (if applicable) and maybe the curriculum of the university. What makes the school unique to you. Talking about ABET doesn't make the school unique to you almost all American universities are accredited. 10 Likes |

Adhheir: I suggest you call the graduate school (I'm assuming you're a prospective Grad student). When I applied for Fall 2018, scanned transcript wasn't allowed. I was required to send my official transcript (directly by the school). All the best! |

Hi Guys, I want to open a domiciliary account and wanted to get a sense of what the charges are like. I have visited GTB and UBA and got the following information; GTB - Card 1,000 naira - Annual card maintenance fee $20 (only if you have a card for your domiciliary account) - Every withdrawal (irrespective of the amount being withdrawn) attracts a charge of $3.5 - Daily withdrawal limit of $1,000 UBA - Card $10 - Withdrawal charge is 0.0005% of the amount withdrawn - Annual maintenance fee $21 (only if you have a card for your domiciliary account) - No daily withdrawal limit So I want to know how dom accounts work for other banks, just so I know what bank offers the best deal. 4 Likes |
