@ Gazzuzz and radautos

I have gone through the thread from the beginning to the end and am impressed with the level of discuss, but would like both of you give more details as regards your diagnosis .

I have gained immensely from the discussion so far and I believe the discuss will be put into proper perspective if a case study of this my Toyota Rav 4 of year 2006 is tabled on this platform for your analysis, based on your diagnosis of repair or rebuild.

The rav 4 has misfired in all its cylinders and it's gasket , pistons has worn out, timing chain issues, cracks due to over heating on the engine, engine oil noticed on plugs etc.

From the above, what would you Gazzuzz and radautos analyze as the cost implications for repairs or replace engine or rebuild respectively.

Sometimes to us as end users we are confused with your diagnosis especially when it is an engine issue. Your expertise insight is required here on the rav 4 2006 and current cost implications of repairs or replacement / rebuild is sought.

Thank you as you take your time to run me through what is required in getting the my Rav 4 back on the road again.

Lol at free diagnosis. Considering diagnosis is free with repair from us, I'll give you one answer here. Anything more in depth we'll need to see the car despite your description.

*inhales it will be cheaper as well as more peace of mind for you in the long run to replace the engine if you can find a good replacement. Rebuilding cracked blocks can be done but will be tedious, expensive and is prone to failure over time.

I don't know how much the engine itself would cost but the labor takes 16.4 hours for a 4 cylinder and 23.9 for a 6 cylinder from beginning to end i.e. dropping the old one, putting in the new one, reconnecting to all systems and testing.

*Rolling eyes* why do you think Glen had anything to do with this? He's asleep lol. AutoElectNG said it best. Just because I don't turn a wrench doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. I USED to back in the day.

I told you I am not anti-replace. I'm anti- indiscriminate replace.

engine oil was almost nothing.

engine ran without lubrication.

Will recommend a replacement.

But if you do not mind a teardown first (at your expense) we could ascertain the gravity of engine damage.

@Oga Gazzuz, mine is a "bolugi", old schl, old model 1996 Rav4 but I don't know if its Zfe or Xfe but all I witness is rough idling & misfiring but this morning amazed me with all 4plugs wet with oil; can U pls give me a guide on cost of replacement or can it be rebuild? Can U handle it or would U refer me to a competent hand that I'll have peace of mind cos I love this my rugged plumpy ride?

2ar in the 2010 and above camry is cheaper than 2az in the 2002-09 camry.
2ar is more advanced with even more horse power e.t.c
Welcome to nigeria where demand and supply rules the market price.

2ar is 250 while 2az is 280+
