All the arms of the military and other security agency budget size is too weak/little for a country fighting terrorism.

But see what the airforce is doing through R & D and it's really paying off. Yes the armies budget is weak but little one they are given is not properly used

TERRORISM: ARMY CALLS FOR A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY

1. The Nigerian Army has called for collaborative efforts from every stakeholders in the ongoing fight against terrorism, saying that no single agency can successfully end terrorism.

2. The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Brigadier General Abdulmalik Biu, made this known when the Queen of Hunter, Aisha Bakari Gombi paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

3. He maintained that Boko Haram terrorists are not spirits but are sons, daughters, brothers and sisters of some people in the area that were accommodated in the past.

4. In his words, ‘we must all participate to restore our dignity. Our people have been traumatized and generations yet unborn are likely to inherit more trauma if Boko Haram is not dealt with completely, we must work together to bequeath a nation that they can be proud of', he added.

5. He also assured her of collaboration at all times, stressing that in the fight against insurgency, the non kinetic aside military approach is very essential.

6. The Acting GOC further stated that, the Nigerian Army will give her all the support so that the non kinetic efforts are exploited in ending Boko Haram insurgency.

7. Responding, Aisha stated that she was in the Division to thank the Nigerian Army for their efforts towards ending insurgency in the North East.

8. She assured of her group's readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Army and pledged that the group will remain ever ready when call upon at any time.

9. It would be recalled that Aisha Bakari Gombi is among thousands of hunters brought in by the Nigerian Army in the fight against Boko Haram and her exploits in catching Boko Haram fighters as well as searching out and rescuing kidnapped children within the enclaves of Boko Haram terrorists earned her the title, ‘Queen of Hunters’ in the order of the likes of historic Queen Amina.

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE DESTROYS BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS VEHICLES, NEUTRALIZES SEVERAL INSURGENTS AT ZARI IN BORNO STATE


The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, yesterday, 30 August 2018, destroyed 2 gun trucks and neutralized several Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) at ZARI on the fringes of the Lake Chad in Borno State. The air strikes were conducted sequel to intelligence reports indicating that dozens of BHTs in 5 vehicles had withdrawn to a location underneath some trees about 5 Km Southwest of ZARI, after an engagement with own troops at ZARI. Accordingly, the ATF deployed Alpha Jet and F-7 attack aircraft as well as an Mi-35M helicopter gunship supported by 2 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms to conduct a massive attack against the insurgents.


Overhead the target area, the BHTs, who were initially seen assembled by their vehicles along the road, rapidly dispersed to disparate positions within the general area, with some of them seen firing at own platforms. The NAF attack aircraft therefore struck the various positions in successive coordinated waves; destroying 2 of the BHTs’ vehicles and neutralizing several BHTs in the process. Some of the surviving insurgents were seen fleeing the location in different directions. These were accordingly mopped-up in subsequent follow-on attacks.


The NAF will continue to deploy its platforms to conduct intensive ISR missions in the entire Northeast aimed at discovering the possible locations of remnants of BHTs and neutralizing them.

What you just posted isn't a far cry from "square peg in round holes". A lot of rednecks at Army HQ are not progressive/forward thinkers.

That said, let me use this illustration " A shoe that doesn't fit still has some foot that can thrive in it (size 42 in 41 isn't as bad as 45 in 41)
