They just asked me for supplementary docs. Only bank statements.

Anyone gotten a decision yet? I hope nobody bought insurance from Mutual Benefit? I didn't buy from those guys. Don't buy from them, you may regret it.

@kofoironic, if it's just BS you were asked, I do not think there should be a problem. I hope you have not tampered with your money in any way? Good luck to you. Please come back here to share your success with us with you application history.
All the best!

Mutual benefit is not a good option for any insurance policy above one month.

AICCO insurance is a better deal any time.

please throw more light on this issue why Finland seems to be the worst place to study, and if you are in Finland where are you studying?
presiade:

I will honestly advise you to consider other better countries such as US, Canada, Norway, and Australia if you're going to study for a Ph.D. I hope you have good academic standing.

The opinion of one single person should not deter you from your goal. A lot of testimonies abound on this platform and you chose the one negative one.

Please be focused and run after your dreams and you wont regret it.

Yes, Finnish Universities have introduced tuition. If you can afford it, Please pay. You will have opportunities to work and you can recoup your investment in the end.

Best of luck.

Two Yoruba proverbs-
1) A dog that would get lost would not hear the whistle of the hunter.

2) It is better to learn from the experience of others than to learn from your own experience.

I have seen goals wasted and dreams shattered in a land where most enlightened, great, and determined minds depart after seeing and analyzing things. Of course, the weak minded would settle, they have no choice. A wise person won't waste words unnecessarily.

and i could be wrong though. but im concerned it might be too late for anything. . getting accepted to some school etc..

and lets say i get accepted, when i show up at the embassy.. i hope they wont mind if the school's starting date is already way over-due..

@NeeYoh, upload all the supplementary doc when all is set and not as u get them.

Do you know they can take decisions based on the ones you have submitted already. Since there is no way to express that you still have more to upload. Please let's be smart o!

Best is get all the required documents within timeline and upload once.

Good luck to you bro.

I want to apply for masters this year too to start school next year September. But I've noticed that unlike Norway, Finland doesn't exempt Nigeria from English test requirements. I've not seen any university in Finland that doesn't require IELTS. Have you?

I have IELTS but it's general test.

Yes there are schools depending on your preferred course

Please tell me the names of these schools. I don't really care about the course. I want to switch from the course I did.

This is very funny. Chances are very very low to get an admission in a field not related to your first degree

And isn’t masters a path to specialization? How come you don’t care about the course?

I did Linguistics. The course is vast. It's classified as Arts in Nigeria but sciences abroad. It has a clinical aspect too. I'm qualified to go into education if I choose too. That's what I mean.

So please which schools do you know that don't require IELTS?
Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 8:12pm On Aug 30, 2018
Ok good. You can check out LET at the university of Oulu. I think you don’t need Ielts for that.

Research chemist too at university of east Finland.
One more course at the university of Oulu too but it’s bioscience and I can’t rememer the name now . Incase someone needs some information

I made enquiries from Nigerians who were already in Finland before leaving Nigeria...all they told me was that everything was fine bla bla. When I got here, they complain in their small circles how Finnish will laugh at you and don't really like you, how the lecturers are not good at imparting knowledge... I have my personal experiences which I won't share in an open forum as this. I had my research position, I knew the reaction i got when I got it against the wishes of many of them, knowing that I did not speak any Finnish. Yes, people have some challenges in other countries but it's better, but those can be more easily navigated if you speak the language of the country. If I had gotten sincere responses from people when I was still in Nigeria, I would have continued saving for additional one year and be able to conveniently sponsor my MSc in the US or UK.

I'm not talking based on hear-say, but real experience. I have many business ideas to execute but because I understand the game plan of the people, I'm not executing anything here. I know better.
Preach brother, preach!!!

Nigerians love being lied to, people that should openly say how tough one country is from another, will be telling lies just to gain agent fees.

After reading all your comments, its only one with no hope that will go ahead with finish visa
