That doesn't change the fact that 10k is not good enough.

Please how much will the students pay as school fees? Let's start from there.

Any school with more than 100 students where students pay anything above 20k and they still pay teachers 10k is a labour camp.

Let's do some maths.

This assumes that the school is not just starting and all infrastructure is in place and no rent is paid.

20,000 X 100 students = 2million X 3 terms that's 6million in a 1yr period.
Then
10,000 X 20 teachers = 200k every month X 12 months which is 2.4million.

6million - 2.4million = 3.6million left.
If the salary is increased to 20k per month, there is still 1.2million profit left or let's say 1m or 800k profit assuming 200-400k goes into miscellaneous expenses.
For this kind of school, 15k is understandable to free up some money for unforseen expenditures but it should not be fixed at that amount forever such that even when the school grows, the amount remains the same.

This is just for a small school.

So imagine these big schools with their own buildings where students pay like 50-200k per term and the number of students is more than 500.
Yet some of them pay teachers these paltry sums. It's not fair.

In Nigeria, private schools are the worst when it comes to exploiting teachers. I don't blame them, but those people who decide to take up such jobs.

If everyone in this country were like me, they will all shut-down due to lack of teachers.

Instead of me to take up a teaching job of N25,000, I'll organize home lesson for 5-6 students.

I guess it's because the so called teachers are not good enough.
