Please house, how possible will it be US embassy grant me visa if I’m the person sponsoring my masters educational program |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Ubah1(m): 12:16pm On Sep 08, 2018 |
Arinze4u2018: If you are sponsoring yourself without any form of assistance from the school, you need to have the full tuition and living expenses for your whole stay in the school (that is, both 1st year and 2nd year tuition fee and expenses). If you have this in place, you have nothing to worry. But if someone else is sponsoring you, you only need tuition fee and living expenses for the 1st year as the V.O will believe your sponsor will be working to cater for the second year fee. 5 Likes |

Hello house. Please I want to know if choosing just one school will affect one's chances of getting his/her visa application approved. Because I chose only one school and I am going for my interview on the 13th of this month. |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Humble11: 4:22pm On Sep 08, 2018 |
Ibromotion: No it won’t affect your chances but better to choose more schools to show your seriousness. You can’t predict your chances of admission with just one school. What if they didn’t admit you, that’s how you will miss out. 1 Like |

I will add another school then... I just don't want to lie but I will have to if it will increase my chances of getting my visa approved. I will make research about another school and add it to my school of choice. Humble11: 1 Like |

Ibromotion: But you don't have to say all this here. V.Os also monitor this thread. A lie can cost you your visa if caught. In all you do make sure you are not caught lying. |

You don't need a SSN to activate star id. Use the link they sent you. Click on activate StarID thru email, then enter your email. A verification code will be sent to your mail. Go back and enter the code. You'll get an 8-digit code. Thats it. You'll then set up your Start id password. As for scholarship, I got to know it was awarded by the CIS arm of the school and it comes with conditions. Its a whole lot but you'll be oriented on how to maintain it every semester once you r given. I didn't apply specially for it. MyAmericandream: |

Popocarey: There is this saying that says ''If we don't fight we have failed, but if we fight we can either fail or succeed''. So forget the tuition part for now and put in some work. First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a) www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b) www.gradschools.com c) www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam in this dropbox I createdhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/ AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0 TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country. For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/ AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0 As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit. Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2018. If you plan to resume in fall 2018, make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2017. If you don't give it a trial, you will never know.My philosophy in life is to always do my part, with that I don't get to regret later. Above all, if you believe in God,pray to him..if not, good for you. 16 Likes 5 Shares |

Hello all!! I have a friend - a med student in year four. He wants to specialize in US after completing his MBBS here. Please, I would like to know the path doctors take. I am thinking writing the GRE and TOEFL then applying for a Master's in Public Health; then on getting there, they complete the MS in Public Health and go on to specialize. Please, anyone with knowledge should enlighten me and if possible, point me to someone that has done similar stuff on this trend. Thanks a lot. I look forward to your replies. |

I initially created a thread for this,no one answered.Justwise closed the thread and directed me here Please I need answers Hello everyone, I'm a bit confused.. I'll be graduating next year from a university here in Nigeria. I really want to study abroad but I really don't know how wise my decision is.. Here's the problem I'm currently studying Chemistry(Edu) but would like to transit to computer engineering abroad.. Should I go for undergraduate studies(Start afresh) in computer science in America or make the switch in my master's programme?? What are my chances of convincing the V.O the cause for changing the courses?? I currently have about 4M in naira, will this be enough in a public University in USA for undergraduate studies?? Can a car be declared as an asset since it's in my name to show ties to Nigeria?? SAT or TOEFL, which is better for undergraduate programmes?? I have an uncle in Florida,What use is this to my advantage?? P.S: Is a student allowed to work freelance while studying abroad(USA precisely)??.. Cc justwise, kroger |
