You must sign it. If you like look for loopholes here and there, it doesn't hold water.

Stop being confused.

Saraki and co deliberately did not include the card readers to the bill and PMB refused to sign it because of this.

If he had signed it then they would have the avenue to rig with inflated figures.

They (saraki and co) are the true enemies of our democracy and PMB is simply trying to protect it by refusing to sign due to that abnormally.

“The problem with Nigeria is that those in government today have no business being in politics. A military man can never be democratic. He can never change overnight.

“Give Buhari 20 years as the president of this country, he can never fix Nigeria. He is busy going to China to borrow. If he continues as the president, our debt profile would be unimaginable.”

You are one of the copy and paste people who never take time to understand anything before you copy and paste it. As long ad it appeals to your emotions you just spread the nonsense around.

Let me help you.

US National Debt - $21 Trillion - Debt to GDP 76%
UK National Debt - $2.3 Trillion - Debt to GDP 89%
China National Debt - $4.3 Trillion - Debt to GDP 41%
Nigeria National Debt - $73 Billion - Debt to GDP 21%

Debt is not the issue. It's what you do with it that's the issue.
Question is - If debt is rightly invested in infrastructure (that creates Capital Formation) or human capital (that keeps people alive & develop their skills and mental capacity), we'll be ok. If truth be told, a large Percentage of our National Debt was looted by the previous governments.

The conversation we should be having concerning our National Debt is
- Is it sustainable?
- What is it invested on?
- How much would those investments add to the GDP?
- When should we expect these ROI?

This government is committed to infrastructural awakening and is well on the course to achieving this with a time frame in mind after which we begin to get our ROI fast

These are some of the key indices that bring about an economical rating and yes as it stands now, Nigeria is the best economy in africa all thanks to this present Government which remained unwavering in the face of recession and maneuvered the nation out of those murky waters to the place where Forbes could now rate us as they have done.

Kudos to PMB and PYO.

A match made in heaven.

God bless Nigeria

Mr man, it is you who is rather the master of copy and paste here. And it is also ludicrous to compare the debt profile of United States of America, and United Kingdom to Nigeria! You don't know what you are posting all round social media at all. The question you should rather ask yourself is what is the annual bedget of U.S.A and U.K? U.S.A's annual budget is more than 1trillion dollars while Nigeria's annual budget is around 30billion dollars. Another question you should ask yourself is what is G.D.P of these countries? California state's G.D.P alone in U.S.A is more than the entire G.D.P of Nigeria! You also lied that thanks to Buhari Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa. Mr man, that was under Jonathan, right now, Seychelles has assumed that position. I'm sure your fellow Buhari supporters would quickly believe anything you post without verifying at all. Since Buhari came to power, he has borrowed 3times the PDP borrowed in it's entire 16 years. And what has the APC have to show other than few completions of project Jonathan was about to finish. Even Bill Gates (in case you don't know; the world's richest man) critisised the economic policies of Buhari's goverment when he visited Nigeria few months ago!!

This is the intro from forbesafrica below.

The revival of Nigeria’s economy has gained momentum under the guidance of President Buhari’s ERGP programme; its ambitious targets yield results that seem to indicate that they will soon be superseded.

In spite of difficult times, Nigeria has been rated as the top 10 most improved economies in 2016/2017.

Go ahead and spin that.

I'm not surprised at all because it is typical of your likes. Even when you posted the link yourself that says Nigeria is ''top 10'' MOST IMPROVED, literally meaning among the top 10 in Africa but you deliberately put out a false narrative that Nigeria is the BIGGEST ECONOMY! Liar, that's what you are, like your types here on nairaland!! Where in the report was it stated that Nigeria is the biggest economy?? Go and make your research which country has the biggest economy in Africa according to World Bank, I have told you that already. As for my other points, I know you wouldn't have anything to say since they bursted & disputed your lies and false statements. Typical lair

I will indulge your idiocy just this once as you deserve no extra attention from me for your crass levels of ignorance.

From the article again

Nigeria remains a highly appealing destination for investors. Mr Tunde Fowler, Chairman at FIRS elaborates, “Nigeria is an investor’s heaven with so much potential; from industry to agriculture to telecommunications. There’s so much room for expansion and the ease of doing business ensures that anyone who has a business, or who intends to start a business, will not have to face any bureaucracy, roadblocks or hindrance.

Nigeria’s government is determined to provide profound and long-term change in economic prosperity and stability; there remains little doubt that it is Nigeria’s destiny to uphold the title of largest economy in Africa for a long time yet

You mentioned that I lied about the term BIGGEST. What does LARGEST mean again?

Also if Nigerias economy is THE LARGEST IN AFRICA does that not translate to THE BEST IN AFRICA?

This is the haven for investments. The most attractive for investments due to the large nature of the economy which is being made even larger by PMB with his economic diversification drives.

Again I repeat, with the rest of the nonsense you wrote earlier your two words GULLIBLE IGNORANCE still stands

It is confirmed that you are blocked-headed and it is also offical. ''Mr Tunde Fowler who is the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) which is a Nigerian government agency is now the awardee of the ''largest''/''biggest'' economy in Africa?? Why are Buhari's supporters so intellectually deficient like this?? Gosh! It is the chairman of Channels television who would proclaim Channels television as the best television station in Africa and it would be generally accepted as the official rating across Africa? Is the chairman of Globacom that would declare Globacom as the largest/biggest telecommunication network in Africa and the declaration would be the generally acceptable and official rating across the African continent?? You are too daft to engage with in an educative argument!!

Amendment of section 49 with new subsections (1) and (2) This provision enshrines the use of the smart card reader and other technological devices in elections

Re: Card Reader Not Included In Electoral Amendment Bill Sent To The President. by Buterflyle0: 8:54pm On Sep 11, 2018
LadyExcellency:

Amendment of section 49 with new subsections (1) and (2) This provision enshrines the use of the smart card reader and other technological devices in elections

This is actually the amendment as declared by the senators who were responsible for it.

Presenting the report on the new bill on the day of passage in Senate last month, Chairman of the Committee on INEC, Senator Suleiman Nazif (APC: Bauchi North), informed lawmakers that the bill was re-introduced, following President Buhari’s decision to withhold assent to the bill.

That the amendment to the sequence of the elections in Section 25 of the Principal Act may infringe on the constitutionally guaranteed discretion of INEC to organize, undertake and supervise all elections in Section 15 (a) of the Third Schedule of the Constitution;

That the amendment to Section 138 of the Principal Act to delete 2 crucial grounds upon which an election may be challenged by candidates unduly limits the rights of candidates in elections to a free and fair electoral review process; andThat the amendment to Section 152 (3)- (5) of the Principal Act may raise constitutional issues over the competence of the National Assembly to legislate over Local Government elections.

In line with aforementioned observations, Sen. Nazif explained that the Committee resolved to:Delete Sections 25 and 152 (3)-(5) in the proposed Bill based on the President’s observations;Retain Section 138 (c) and (d) as contained in the Principal Act;Further amend Section 49 by including a new subsection (3) which provides that “ Where a Smart Card Reader deployed for accreditation of voters fails to function in any unit and a new card reader is not deployed, the election in that unit shall be cancelled and another election shall be scheduled within 24 hours”; and Amend Section 140 to include a new subsection (c) which states that “Where the election is postponed due to omission of a political party’s name or logo, the Commission’s Officer responsible for such printing of party names or logos commits an offence and is liable to a fine of Two Million Naira (N2, 000,000) or imprisonment for 2 years or both”.

Read that again and again

By the way LadyExcellency this one you are posting was the first one passed in February which Buhari rejected for other reasons and asked them to make the required corrections.

They now went and deleted very important sections and repassed in July which buhari again rejected.

You are posting the one from February which is the first one.

Post the one from July which is the one this thread is addressing.

Thank you

That's for Saraki and co to prove they included it in the second bill transmitted to PMB in July.

If they admit to deleting certain sections then they could have also deleted the section about card readers.
