Once again your presumption in the negative shows your parochial and limited view.

This was sarcasm and tongue in cheek rhetoric that is about Kayode in the past, present continous and future.

Not just the immediate NOW that you have decided to underpin your view on.
sorry for the view

The general discussion going on is for the here and now. Once again, I apologise for assuming you were speaking on the actual discussion, not a general one

he is busy calling players wey never even kick ball to replace players that are kicking ball.

Na people wey dey recover from injury, some never even recover finish, and players that there is little to no feelers that NFF will reach out to them in a space of three weeks. If you want to propose players, propose the ones that are feasible.

The list should be out in less than 2weeks time sef. Not looking like much will change in terms of players performance and callups. I just hope the quartet of Mikel, Ekong, Iwobi and Simon would have been back to full action by then.

If u play him as false 9 it will not. Musa and Simon also have Onyekuru's kind of activities.

Personally, I do not believe Rohr is big on playing a False 9 He played Musa/Iheanacho as strikers against Iceland with Iheanacho behind Musa in a support role, not false 9s(I don't even know if you can have 2 False 9s in a team). Observe that Rohr is keen on getting another outright 9 hence Simy and Lokosa got call ups against DRC. Playing a False 9 is a very tactical approach. I don't think Rohr is big on it.

I get your point. But looking at the immediate future, that is the Libya double header, What would u recommend in terms of the attacking approach? Let assume Simon, Iwobi and Mikel will be in that game

23 man list for Libya games.

1. Ezemwa
2. Uzoho
3. Akpeyi
4. Omeruo
5. Balogun
6. Troost
7. Awaziem
8. Idowu
9. Aina
10. Mikel
11. Onazi
12. Ndidi
13. Ogu
14. Joel
15. Etebor
16. Simon
17. Iwobi
18. Ighalo
19. Iheanacho
20. Simy
21. Ahmed
22. Onyekuru
23. Kalu

If he wants 25 man list. Then two players will added.

Before that time, we will see Nigerian players in the league, UEFA champions league and Europa league. If dey do well, they should be considered while the underperforming once on that list should be removed.

These players are Isaac Success, Kayode Olanrewaju, Dennis Bonaventure and Noah Bazee.

The players that are suspect that needed to be replaced are Odion Ighalo, Simy Nwankwo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ogu. grin

Yes!

Noah Bazee for Kelechi Iheanacho

Kayode Olanrewaju for Simy Nwankwo

Denise Bonaventure for Ighalo

If Isaac Success comes in he will compete with Kalu on the right wing.

I want Phillip to take Ogus place with immediate effect. grin

Elimination by substitution. grin

I hope u are aware that Iheanacho has never ever failed to make the invitees list ever since he made his debut for the SE.

One thing some people don't seen to understand is that Rohr is taking it easy with his infusion of new players to the team.. it's gradually.. it might b conservative and not good for the team, but the man is not taking risk..
Our game against Libya has our AFCON hope hanging on it . Even if the above players u placed on standby are fit, they may not get called up..

This thing Rohr is doing is quite common among many coaches.. you don't replace a squad u are familiar with just like that.. it's gradual... Maybe after we get the AFCON ticket against South Africa in November more new players can be tested..
But for now,we are gonna be seeing more of Ighalo,Ogu,Idowu,Iheanacho, et al

Ofcourse, the next best thing in my opinion. Play Musa as the 9. If those 3 players are to feature then in a 4-3-3, Musa centre forward,Simon and Kalu from both flanks. Iwobi LMF Etebo RMF Mikel Holding Midfielder. In Defence,Balogun and Ekong. Collins and Ajayi on both sides (For the lack of better alternatives).
Omeruo can come in at RB but I don't know how well he will thrive there.

Onyekuru can come in Simon.
Ndidi for Mikel etc.

He is back from injury and in contention to play any time soon.

Sharktar Doneskt game against Hoffenheim in UEFA champions league matches is coming up on the 19th September which is next week Wednesday and against Lyon on October 2nd. Meaning Kayode could get to play 4 or 5 matches before the list is released. grin

Super Eagles forward, Kayode Olanrewaju, is recuperating fast to full fitness after picking up injury during a training. session at his club, Shakhtar Donetsk,Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Kayode is yet to feature for the Miners this season due to the injury.

He could however return to action in a a couple of weeks as he has started individual training.

“Dentinho and Olarenwaju Kayode train outside the general group, doing some individual running,”reads a tweet on Shakhtar Donetsk’s official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

The striker initially joined Shakhtar Donetsk on loan from Manchester City in February, but the move was made permanent with the former Austria Wien star penning a five-year contract following an impressive performance as a loanee.

He won the league and FA Cup titles with Shakhtar Donetsk last season

Iwobi......................Etebo

.................Mikel

Collins...Balogun..Ekong..Ajayi.

O boy who is going to cover that big hole you have created at the Middle. No box to box midfielder? Who plays in the hole behind the striker? Plus there is no way Rohr is going to start both Ajayi and Jamilu. You are duplicating roles for your wingers. 4 wingers?

Or is it that I am not getting the structure of the team. Please represent it in the above form let's see.

We need to give other strikers and players chance to prove themselves if the once we have are not up to expectations.

He comes back from a long injury lay off. He plays 1 or 2 games and next thing he gets a national team call up.

Only players with proven quality that have already been in the national team for a while that can get called up shortly after an injury spell like that.

I wonder the kind of selections some people here would make if given the opportunity to draw a list for Rohr.

Maybe it has been the competition but to me Awaziem has been doing good at that RB spot. He works well with the wingers and he is always looking for a smart cross. The only thing I can say is that his pace has not yet been put to the test at the position.

He is not coming back from long injury. Check it. Na just two days.

Don't forget he was involved in all their preseason games before he missed just two Bundesliga matches which coincidentally fell around the time the Bundesliga league was opened.

He will get to play 4 matches before the list is released. Chai!

Don't let anybody deceive you here. grin

Did I here someone say only players with proven quality that have been in the national team should be called?

Is Simy proven quality? Abegi.. grin

Noah and Kayode were already in the National team before he came and I think they are far better than him. Sorry.

Iheanacho should be relegated to his club for now too. grin

Emm! Why is somebody complaining about Ighalo and want him out of the team if he is not thinking of a better replacement?

I see. He wants Ighalo to give way for......who? grin

Am I the only one here that think Rohr doesn't rate the Belgian league? That might probably be why Desser,Bonaventure and Ajagun haven't been called up..

When Ndidi was in the Belgian league he and Anderson Esiti were among the best midfielders there... In the SE,they weren't regulars but still got some playing time.. After Ndidi joined Leicester he became a regular while Esiti was dropped... Kalu and Onyekuru didn't get their chance in the SE despite their standout performance in Belgium. same with Uche Agbo.. Even Peter Olayinka was overlooked..

Simeon Moses was the only player from the Belgian league who was a regular in the team and that might b because he has been in the team before Rohr took over..

Just my theory sha... But who else feels the same way??

Moreover that game yesterday was inconsequential, it does not carry any weight.

Didn't anyone tell you Joel Obi already broke into the first team of the SE before those matches?
