I have taken the time to read through from part 1and I asked a question and someone answered I should not waste money and time applying for visa again.
This is my ordeal we already have papers filed by my mil F3 that has been approved but you know it takes so long its 6 years now.
I have applied for visa in the past without my kids and hubby and denied twice, now someone suggested we all go together and another said we will never get a visa since we already have a process going onn
NB my sister in law is getting married that is the purpose of the visit.I will appreciate if you all can put mouth in my matter. Thank you

Loads of top rated travel history to the rescue, and/or 7-digit paying job too at the least, your stakes in Naija just gat to be clearly high. In the absence of this/these, it will be a tough one to crack but not entirely impossible. But with the whole family? That will be almost impossible. Sitting it out things!

Hello Everyone!
How are you sir @seyewest?

I got a US Visa last year to attend a conference this year,I attended the conference in New York and Pittsburgh PA. March this year and i returned back to Nigeria in the same month.
I intend travelling back this time with my wife for a couple retreat organised by assemblies of God Church in Texas for two weeks but our 3 kids are not going with us.
She's schedule for her visa interview in some weeks tiime.
She's a Psychiatric nurse with years of experience.
Please what are her chances?

By now you should know that nobody can predict or determine your chances on this thread.... You really need to assess your chances by gauging it against your ''ties''.
Goodluck

I know this article mentions green card and immigrant visas, but it is a warning to everyone to be extra careful (and VERY truthful) with their applications, it looks like they are being extra with their scrutiny. Any small thing could get you bounced.

https://www.propublica.org/article/authorities-can-now-deny-visa-and-green-card-applications-without-giving-applicants-a-chance-to-fix-errors

Authorities Can Now Deny Visa and Green Card Applications Without Giving Applicants a Chance to Fix Errors

Immigration lawyers call the policy change, which kicks in today, another brick in Trump’s “invisible wall” to make legal immigration as difficult as possible.

As President Donald Trump wages a vocal battle against illegal immigration, his administration has been working more quietly to cut down on legal pathways to immigrate to the U.S.
On Tuesday, a new policy kicks in, allowing officers with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to outright deny any visa or green card application that is missing evidence or contains an error. Around 7 million people apply every year.
Previously, officers were required by an Obama-era policy to send notices, giving applicants a chance to correct such problems instead of closing the process. Officers can still choose to do so, but they can also opt to skip that step if the application is deemed frivolous.
Without the notices, applicants won’t have the opportunity to intervene before a decision is made, potentially adding months or years of extra paperwork and thousands of dollars in fees to the already lengthy process. In the case of those trying to renew their visas while they’re still in the U.S., they could be placed in deportation proceedings the moment their visas expire.
USCIS spokesman Michael Bars said the policy was changed to cut down on frivolous applications. The agency has said applicants sometimes file substantially incomplete placeholder applications, knowing the back-and-forth with the USCIS will buy them time. “Under the law, the burden of proof is on the applicant,” Bars said, “not the other way around.”
But immigration lawyers worry that there is not enough oversight or clear standards to ensure fair handling. USCIS officers will now have near-complete discretion to make complex judgments behind closed doors.
“They can deny you on the fact that, subjectively, they feel in their mind [the application] is not approvable,” Pierre Bonnefil, an immigration attorney in New York, said.
One reason the lawyers are worried is that they’ve seen a barrage of scrutiny directed at once-standard immigration applications since Trump took office. ProPublica spoke with a dozen lawyers and reviewed documentation for several of these cases.
Many responses cited technicalities: One application was not accepted because the seventh page, usually left blank, was not attached. Another was rejected because it did not have a table of contents and exhibit numbers, even though it had other forms of organization.
“It seems like they are just making every single submission difficult,” Bonnefil said. “Even the most standard, run-of-the-mill” application.
The lawyers call this minefield of onerous paperwork an “invisible wall,” designed to make legal immigration as difficult as possible.
“People who are here legally, doing everything through proper channels, now feel as unsettled and unwelcome and uncertain about the future as people who don’t have documents,” Sandra Feist, an immigration attorney in Minnesota, said.
Under Trump, this has meant that cases drag on for weeks or months as lawyers scramble to address notices. Some lawyers have noticed an uptick in denials recently, but most say that strong cases still eventually make it through.
It remains to be seen how broadly the new policy will be used to outright deny even strong applications. The memo said the new policy is “not intended to penalize filers for innocent mistakes or misunderstandings of evidentiary requirements.”

They won't bother with that, I think the main thing is your ''ties'' to Nigeria.

I have B1 Visa expiring Jan '19, I confirmed I have no relative in the US during my previous interview, I was single then, and was given the B1/B2 visa. I met a US citizen and got married in Nigeria in December 2017, I want to renew my passport which is expiring 2018, my question is
1. should I use my husband name or my maiden when renewing my passport
2. For my visa renewal should I declare that I have an immediate relative in the US which is my husband because am scared that the VO might see that as a red flag thinking I want to run away which I don't have the intention to until the filling process is done?

A registrar is not the only one at work, his support staff can take his place while he's on leave... and looking at it from another angle why can't he take a leave when the school is on break?

Use whatever name you want to renew your passport regardless you will fill that you are married anyways...ot did you plan on not disclosing that.

Then you do realise that in the Ds 160 form there is a place there that asked if anyone has filed an immigrant petition for you..biko what did you plan to write there.
My point is your answers are more than just do you have immediate relatives in the US.

Note that visa questions are not because they don't know the answers they are mainly because they want to see if you will declare the truth.
Besides if your husband is a USC then he should have filed a IR or CR for you which os not subject to visa limits. It should be over and done with in under 9months.
If he's a LPR or GC holder then you would have F2A which has a wait time of about 2years or so.

Whichever it is renewing your B1/B2 is not a big deal...relax. Don't be anxious over any possible refusal. You clearly have immigrant intent which is not a crime in your situation. If they don't give you then wait for filing but please just fill the truth.

Kindly advise if it's possible I can apply for a US visit visa with my child. My husband would be in nAija. Though I am not working but I have some money enough to foot our bill. I have a pending petition. I was applied when I was single but was denied.
Now that I am married do I stand a better chance. Cos this American Embassy interviewers can be funny. Please kindly assist

If only all nigerians can decide not to apply for an american visa in a year all this visa denials go stop unfortunately every applicant for the american visa is a potential migrant

In regard with the bolded, Jekky83 never indicated that her husband had ever filed an immigrant petition for her. All she said was that she is married to a US citizen.
Let's us stick to the facts

Lol. True but why the fear and hesitation? I don't know much about US immigration but is filing not the process through which parents/kids/siblings can join you in the states?
