Good evening everyone. Pardon me . I’m aware these may have been answered previously but my 3months old baby wouldn’t let me go through posts patiently and I require answers urgently please.

My family was scheduled for an interview in May as I planned to birth my baby in the states. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it as my husband was in an accident a day before. Interview was the last thing on my mind then so we missed it. When things were calmer,I assumed the fee would be forfeited so I tried to schedule another interview but the earliest date was in September which I picked with the hope of getting a much earlier date (in the middle of the night, lol). There was no luck and I had my baby in June.
Now, my interview is in a week(Thursday).

1) I can’t find my mrv fee receipt. What do I do?

2) how do I go about changing my ds160 form? From details of childbirth
to a vacation in December? Will this change affect confirmation page(I printed it out today).

3) IN GENERAL WHAT ELSE DO I NEED PLEASE?

Her job definitely is not the issue, her income from the job may not even be big, but her income generally - including other sources - can be massive. And that aside, she's put in several years into that job, she has gratuity payments and a pension to look up to (she's already "caged" and just can't be running away now na), her husband is a major tie back home, she generally has some good ties.

The remote cause of that refusal isn't glaring as usual, it however may not be unrelated to how the form may have been filled and her communication thereto, there could even have been some marked difference between what's on the form and what she said during the interview (don't forget, the visa officer can refuse you a visa at the slightest doubt of you in his/her mind during the interview), and maybe the status of her daughter/son in-law, etc. Somebody somewhere may have "offended" them on her behalf....

This kinda desperation is one of the reasons why the US consulate treats we Nigerians even more harshly. Since I joined this thread almost every poster whose application got denied always immediately talks about re-applying immediately . I’ve only been denied visa once (South Africa) about three years ago and till date I’ve not even gone near their embassy or website . Why don’t you ask your mum to go elsewhere or worry bout something else other than this USA visa even though we know it’s a great country .

I’m sure you are aware that after a denial the system is only available for re-application after 6 months ( I read that here some time ago) . Nigeria is one of those countries with a high immigration intent rate .

You dont think she has asked herself the question? and that the answer is that they are there legally? and that she did not rush to the embassy?

From my little knowledge. I think they didn't just want to five mum cos of down other reasons. It might be the way daughter n son inlaw got papers might have been the usual way. Though they are residents or citizens now. I was denied a US Visa to attend my brother's wedding. Everyone in my family went na only me no dey there. I re-applied immediately I was refused again. I Just decided to free the US Embassy. I cannot come n kill myself because of America.

I just believe when the right time comes. I would be given. I think your mum should wait for some months before she reapplies. Even though i know she so wants to be there for the birth of her grandchild.
All this denials. It's we Nigerians that caused it. Especially the ones that become citizens via fraud. Fake marriages n the likes.

You show all Zero Balances and receipts and yet they still ask for Itemized Bill from hospital? how did you address the situation? The itemised bill I just received shows a discount/adjustment of over 75% of the bill. Is this a concern?

Yes. A serious concern. My friend was refused for the exact reason. U should have gone with it in the first place.
Wat forward? I don't know.
As long as they see that discount, it counts as aid from the US government in their opinion.

You might do a letter to explain that that discount was because you were a cash paying patient and point out that clause in your contract. Whether that would would work, I dont know

wait? its either you keep vigil on the page (day & night) or you contract someone to do that for you. Asyou are waiting, people are also online waiting for those dates to pop up. Watchers are still picking up September dates popping up.
