There is no OTA issue with redmi 6 pro. It's only when you buy it with unofficial rom that you get issues.

Global Version of the RN5 for example was released for the International Market and runs the Global ROM which has Play Store on it by default. The Chinese Version however, does not have the Play Store on it by default. So to correct this, many people prefer to flash on the Global ROM. Technically, the hardware are the same.
