That's an old picture. If you see the recent picture of that Control junction, you will get angry. The entire road around the roundabout is riddled with potholes on all sides.

Once upon a time,Minaj was the rave both on terrestrial and satelite television. Whatever happened to that dream?. It died as soon as it started. Nollywood has done much to market Igbos (culture and tradition) globally. There may be rough edges here and there but it is quantumn leap considering what obtained 25 years ago. In all my visits to West,East and Southern African countries, nollywood movies are popular and shown on both local and satelite television. All we need is refine the content of our movies and the stride continues. Again, much can be done by delibrate media advocacy both on individual and state levels.

GBAM!
I wonder what happened to MINAJ??

Yes, Nollywood has been a great ambassador. However, their penchant to act unnecessary voodoo has complicated their message especially in other parts of the world where they cannot discern what is real or mere acting.

Nonetheless, Nollywood has done a good job for Nigeria and Igbo culture. They truly need to improve the quality of the movies and the quality of acting

Shut up. Why not post pictures from your Abia state if you even have anything to show. Did you buy data for him or is this thread your hut?

This is a very important point that you have made.

Also properly tagging pictures "Pictures of Ebonyi", "Pictures of Anambra", Pictures of Imo", Pictures of Abia, "Pictures of Enugu", Pictures of Asaba", Pictures of Awka, etc will help make them searchable on the internet.

Thank God everyone is beginning to understand the importance of right titles and tags for every picture you upload.

Oga Spyder,
i thank you immensely especially for the wisdom to start a pan-Igbo thread like this.

In this thread, activities all over Igboland can be easily seen.

Most importantly, our thin god Governors can easily see why regional cooperation between SE states to set up regional infrastructure is the way to go. Individual states may not have the capacity to do what is required alone.

ANAMBRA state government needs to take water front development seriously. Why don't they have Onitsha Waterfront development Agency? We need governors that think in 21st century mindset.

I am impressed with the modern refuse collection bins.

Modern waste disposal bin should be enforced for every house especially in Awada, Nkpor and high density areas. This will help improve the management of refuse in the cities.

Gov. Ugwuanyi should do us a huge favor and beautify Enugu flyovers.

Even if it's just planting palm trees and other types of aesthetic trees and flowers. its better than leaving it bare.

Those people now doing city sweeping should go around these flyovers and begin to plant trees.

We are begging not mandating...

If they can just mark out the water front Areas and hand it over to groups of private investors to develop within specified standards. This is not rocket science.

Exactly!

Private investors can develop the place and control / rent designated stalls as areas where businesses can establish small shops for restaurant of selling of other souvenirs etc. Visitors and residents of Onitsha can go to the park for relaxation and buy from the sores there.

And It will generate MASSIVE economic activity, Tourism and TAXES for the state government... In fact we have so many gold mines scattered all over Igboland that haven't even been touched... partly due to lack of vision from leadership.

The Valley estates flyover, Enugu
Oga Spyder is this the flyover linking the express to New Market or Trans Ekulu. They all look alike. Meanwhile, this bare and scraggy looking structure is another goldmine screaming for attention. All the government need to do is grant an extended tax holidays to any of the major branding and activation companies to completely transform this sore looking pile of concrete. Give them a specification. Repaint and draw murals and multicolored designs on the columns and pillars. Change those short rails and install bigger, stronger and more befitting ones. Illuminate the entire area and use 3D electrical boards to advertise on the lintels on both sides. All these are do able except we must start learning to run governance as a business.

Actis is an international equity and leading investor in growth markets globally. They are the ones developing Jabi Water front in Abuja. They also have other key structures within Nigeria aside Jabi Lake Mall. RMB (Rand Merchant Bank) Westport is another of such company with the clout to develop these locations and based on their clout, attract high scale occupants. All we need do is for all the forward thinking money bags, technocrats and sound state governments enter into equity/counterpart funding with them, even if it is 0.00%. In a space of 5 years,we will have an enviable skyline dotting these landscapes. The chain effects of these is better imagined. At least, there is no need for ocean reclamation and land filling yet hence it will cost much less than most other water front locations in middle east and Lagos. Again, all these are doable and will cost the government almost nothing aside providing some key infrastructure(gas line, ease of business registration and other such logistics). We only need to start running governance like a business to attain our fullest potentials

Enugu state government has engaged the services of street sweepers who sweep the roads every morning. ...........

This is a great legacy of Gburugburu!

Looking at the recent pictures of IPOB sit at home strike, one could notice that only Enugu streets looked decent!
Even streets in Port-Harcourt also looked like a dungeon
