Rohr Reveals The Name Of One Striker He's Planning To Recall For AFCON Qualifier Vs Libya
Published: September 16, 2018

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is planning to recall in-form Mainz frontman Anthony Ujah for next month's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations double-header against Libya.

The former Bayern Munich defender has been forced to sit up and take notice after the Mainz number 20 scored in his second consecutive game playing as a substitute on Saturday.

For three years now, Ujah has been in the international wilderness, with his last cap earned in the goalless draw with Tanzania in an AFCON qualifier on September 5, 2015.

His lack of game time at Mainz was the main reason he was not invited to the Nigeria squad for the 2018 World Cup despite a chance meeting with Gernot Rohr at the airport in Frankfurt.

Speaking as a consultant on the Bundesliga on Europe 1, Rohr stated :''We are scouting him, we could remember him for the next games''.

Ujah was a member of the Super Eagles squad at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and started the 6-1 rout of Tahiti.

komekn:

Your proposition in bold concludes the argument.

First, of all I never at any time said that the Anioma originated from Benin exclusively. What I have said is that there is mixed heritage particularly with the Ika both Igbo and Benin.

The issue is not in dispute about origin. But whether in today current definition they are Igbo, you could call them first cousins to the Igbo. But calling them Igbo, I doubt if that will have general acceptance by them.

I know about dialects and the Nsukka dialect is Igbo albeit quite different from the central Igbo dialect. But both in origin and linguistics they are undoubtedly Igbo.

so nsukka dialect which i find difficult to understand is igbo, but ukwuani dialect which is almost the same as onitsha dialect is not igbo to you abi,, bros go and sit down your argument is invalid,, you need to argue base on fact and reality on ground ..btw which primary school did you attend self,i need to flog your head master grin grin,

His brother already told him he doesn't know the history of his own tribe Urhobo, and u still taking him seriously? A man who doesn't know his history is trynna be a champion in another man's history that only tells u his motives or that he argues out of ignorance. U ought to kno ur story first bfor u tell another man's

If a typical Ezza or Nsuka even Abakaliki iman starts speaking their okpudala, bro, forget it, u are gone because u wudnt know wen dey are making plans to behead u right before ur very eyes with ur own igbo language but their deepest dialect. But nothing wey any man from Anioma abi Asaba go speak wey I no go understand atleast 80%. Don't forget Dessers. Looks like Rohr wants a physical striker upfront instead.
Paul Onachu should've gotten an invite by now

Lack of historical record, state creations and regional boundaries set by the past military government of Nigeria is the major cause of identity crisis in Nigeria especially in soutt south. Elders and politicians pledges allegiance to any region they feel they are more protected and their interest easily actualized.
How can Someone be busy making analysis to tell people that has the same culture, speaks the same language, eats the same food, bears the same name, shares boundary and wears the same attire that they are not related just to prove allegiance to some others that doesnt share theese similarities.
All this argument can never change people's idealogy and interest but Restructuring Nigeria must be a right step in rediscovering our true identity, equality and regional independence.

Yeah that's the issue. I had high hopes for Ujah. Don't know what happened...maybe he wasn't as good as I thought.
Rohr should look for more creative players. Stop this fetish with destroyers.

Happy New Week to everyone.

Question: IN TERMS OF PLAY, HAS THE SUPER EAGLES REALLY IMPROVED OVER THE YEARS(THIS INCLUDING ROHR'S ERA)?

Note: I'm not talking about results but playing patterns.

If you are talking about the qualification of the world cup and the world cup proper, yes we definitely improved

But in our friendlies we flatter to deceive

Maybe Rohr places more emphasis on competitive games

Nigerian footballers to watch as UCL kicks -off tomorrow
Arnault Danjuma-Club Brugge.(LWB)Will Danjuma's performance earn him a call-up?

Henry Onyekuru- Galatasary.(LWF)Will Onyekuru score tommorrow? Onyekuru has been unlucky with the teams he has played for in terms of quality defence, from Eupen to Anderlecht to Galatasaray.
Will mass defence and falling back of their wingers earn them a win tomorrow?

NFF elections, scheduled to hold on Thursday, may not hold. The first link suggests Giwa is involved. If it's true I think someone needs to explain what it means to be banned to Giwa. It seems he doesn't understand.

30 years old isn't too old for a keeper. At worst he can be a handy backup for Uzoho

I am just kinda sad for Afelokhai. He's going the way of Chijioke Ejiogu and Dele Aiyenugba all those years ago.
Besides, Uzoho himself is still young. It won't hurt to have years of experience beside him.
