Truth is none of these accounts are safe. You can only reduce the risk by ensuring you don't expose all of your cash to your payment card or everyday transactions. Always have an account separate from one you use daily to hold your savings. For me I have both Current and Savings. My current holds my daily transaction cash while my Savings holds my not to be touched savings. That account has no channel (card or USSD or mobile App) to it. You can also have your daily transaction accounts in a separate bank and transfer to that account anytime you want to transact.
I do that already. Thanks for the inputs.

Even 660 isn't worth the trade off due to how less power efficient it is compared to 636.

So are you saying if you were to make a choice between sd660 and sd636 with same battery capacity, you would choose sd636?

I was already thinking the items were lost on transit. I just realized that they began to update between yesterday and today. Some not even updated in fact..

This item was shipped on August 29th.

I think the affected items are phones, all other items seem relatively fast.

I understand it clearly dear. My point earlier was that having access to your ATM card and mobile line does not automatically allow the thief access to your fund through the bank's ATM for cash withdrawal. I agree with USSD and Mobile Bank App, transfers can be made using all of these but not direct cash withdrawal from the ATM.

This is the reason why Central Bank of Nigeria is directing the banks to disable USSD by default on all account and also limit the amount drawable from the accounts using enabled USSD and mobile app channel

This is very essential and should be implemented ASAP. I think the limit should not exceed 20k, I don't see any serious person doing serious business above 20k using USSD. Initial activation of the service too should be done over-the-counter & account holders should be given the choice to be exempted.

My barber got his smartphone stolen by pickpockets then got 50k removed from his account within a few hours via the thief using USSD. He didn't have the USSD service activated prior to the incident.

The safest antidote to this is have the USSD activated by yourself to avoid it being done by someone else.

the guy transferred money from the account... access bank said the last four digits of your atm can be used in place of your pin to clear your money as long as you're with the alerts number

That's plain wrong. This is why I don't move with all my ATM cards.

I doubt if the bands currently have the option to have it disabled. Better put a PIN by yourself even when you don't intend to use it before the wrong person does it for you.

Better safe than sorry wink

I was able to have it deactivated on my first bank account, though it was once active. Now if you try to activate it, the prompt is 'this phone number is not associated with any FBN account' meanwhile its the number they send me OTP on and any sms communication.
