Hey nairalanders, I just discovered this thread and decided to ask for some guidance. I have my b1b2 interview in Abuja in October. I'm the aesthetic/cosmetology department head at a top makeup company based in Lagos. I would be attending the international makeup artist tradeshow in ATL as this is a platform to discuss and collect what the makeup industry has to offer especially when it comes fx makeup and other types of extreme makeup used in print and Film, as this is an area that's is very uncommon when it comes to makeup In Nigeria..The purpose of me attending the tradeshow boils down to (1)meeting beauty gurus (2)Networking with major makeup brands (3)scoring lots of fx makeup products. My company would be funding the travelling and accommodation and the likes. I've been married for almost three years now but no kids yet. Plz what are the necessary documents I need to take along for the interview. Can I take my marriage certificate along with me.. Thanks in advance. |

There would be no additional interview. And ur chances depends on why they put ur application on administrative processing. Like me, I was put on administrative processing cuz the VO wants to confirm my documents. My Visa was issued in two days .u can keep checking on the application tracking platform Donmatlock: 1 Like |

Nice thread and some funny answers. A small stuff that needs some advice on. Arrival airport on DS160 form filled as xxxxxx airport while arrival airport ( point of entry) on ticket shows *******. Any implications on this. Airline going through ****** is cheaper than xxxxxx that was filled as arrival airport. Any implications please, will appreciate all responses. Thanks |

edimalo: If the arrival airport that offers the cheaper ticket is JFK or close to the one stated on your DS160, not bad. Also put the proximity of this cheaper airport to the Canadian border into consideration sha.... |

Zena1357:I'm not sure what water a marriage certificate holds when going for a business trip. If it makes you feel any better, you can go with it. But pertinent document to take along is a LOI from your company starting they are responsible for your trip and assurance that you'd be back to Nigeria afterwards. |

Good evening...please I have a question... My husband and i and our 3 kids were granted U.S visas in 2016, we travelled last summer (2017) and stayed for a month. We renewed our visas in March this year and I went ahead to have a baby here in Nigeria (she is 4 months old). I need to get my baby a visa so that we can visit the U.S again this Christmas. How do I apply for a baby? Am I to go for an interview with her? Please tell me how it's done....Thanks for your time. |

I learnt Nigerians who are just immigrating to USA at this point in time are being repatriated back to Nigeria from USA because of Donald Trump policy, and that it's advisable for someone going to USA to wait till after election on November 5 before traveling. Can someone help confirm this, if it's true? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by ayenikunle: 10:34pm On Sep 25, 2018 |
oddybabs: This your questions get k-leg. You are not to migrate on a visitor's visa before, during and after the election... it's illegal. 1 Like |

so, applied for renewal via dropbox, and after 2weeks, my status changed to schedule an interview date. dec was the intended date of travel in the application, but now, the earliest interview date is feb 28 2019, in lagos. cannot switch to abuja at this point. apart from randomly checking and hoping to see an earlier date, is there any other thing one could do??. someone suggested my booking the feb 28th date, that i could later reschedule to an earlier date afterwards. my question is, is this possible, would prefer leaving my options open, than locking down that distant feb 28th date, and now discover that i cant change to an earlier date |

Hello House, Please I need your advice for these two cases: First, a 70 year old aunt plans to visit the US next year with her daughter- in- law for vacation. They do not have an Invite letter from the US however the daughter in law is a lawyer that earns much but has no travel history while the old woman is house wife that earns huge house rent (She is financially buoyant so to say) and had her polytechnic schooling in the UK in the 1960s. She was in UK last in 2006 on vacation since then no other travel history. Now my enquiries are these: Looking at the trend of rejection in US B1 / B2 visas, 1. Can they go ahead to apply with this current profile or simply have to travel to Dubai or Ghana? 2. Can the old woman apply alone as her own sponsor? 3. Does it make any sense to include one of the daughter in law’s kids in their application? Second case, another aunt in her early 60s plans to visit the US next year on an invitation but has no travel history but she is a retired nurse and earns house rent. 1. Does she need to travel to Dubai, Ghana etc to build her travel history? 2. Can she apply on her own as her sponsor without an invite? (Does this increase / reduce her chances of being granted a visa). Your anticipated feedback will be appreciated. |

My 2 cent advice ......... Since is next year you can try. Currently travel history and, your fat statement of account doesn't hold water for US embassy now. hardly they ask for your invitation letter even when you decided to present it to VO he will refuse to check, am talking with experince mine was even a conference invitation. In my present they refuse a women who is going for (omugwu) to help her daughter who just give birth in US and she is in her 60's. Also witness 2 pregnant women who want to give birth in US got refusal. My advise ... let's leave U.S. embassy for now, and stop generating revenue for them for those going for vacation, conferences hardly they give visa now and they ask questions for formality seek when they have decieded before you appear. But they might consider some going for medication , study and immigration visa. My 2 cent .... Asihanmi: |

good evening house, my husband and I were supposed to have an interviewed yesterday been 25, we printed the appointment letter late, and we were unable to checked the barcode which did not tally with my DS-160 form and I was sent back to book another appointment... he was denied... saying they didn't give people visa, that the man was just too fast asking questions without given time for answers , given out blue paper like water.. the question now is... should I wait for him for us to apply together or I should book appointment alone... I wanted to pick date like early March next year after election... cuz If I pick date now I might still get denied... possibly if they grant me, then by march he can still reapply ... we are going on a vacation as a couple, we intend going by May next year... pls house what is ur advice.... thanks ...waiting for ur responses.. pls still waiting for suggestions from the house... thanks |
