U have a point there because if the movie had been longer then maybe the plot would have been developed sufficiently enough to make someone enjoy the movie. The movie is all about talk, but very little action to back it. For instance, the way they talked about that kingpin"no body steals from him" blah blah, they hyped him to the point where one would even think he is Thanos, but at the end he was just useless, they didn't even give us a little insight into his background. Even his son was a bigger disappointment.
Waikiki too was just an embarrassment. If he's not babysitting his brother, he is busy sulking.
Even the french lady that was being touted as a dangerous assassin blah blah blah, just one fight scene
Don't even get me started on that useless talkative that was busy calling for helicopter, I don't even know his role in the movie.
I mean the so-called hotel was supposed to be a den of thieves, criminally minded elements u know but it was damn boring than a monastery.
I just felt like the movie was incomplete. That's why I don't trust all these movies with run time of one and half hours unless comedies.
Anyways I'm already erasing it from my memory with Ozark season 2.

Ozark. I was always checking for season 2 and now that it's out, I don't have data. Interesting movie

All I can gather is that you were looking for action scenes and you didn't get as much as you would have liked. How about, next time, you try to understand what a movie really is about, before projecting your own expectations on it.
Yes, Hotel Artemis does give off The Continental vibes but that quickly goes away and is not enough for you to be expecting Keanu Reeves to pop out of a broom closet and start taking headshots

Sure yeah, I was expecting lots of action just like you said, but am not to be censured for that, the trailer company or editor in charge of making that movies trailer should be held accountable for that, because they presented the movie in such a way that it seemed like the thrill of the John Wick movie, which also revolves around an exclusive hotel for assassins,So i had high expectations while seeing the movie.

Also, what I saw on the trailer came off to me as cliché to the john wick movie, thus, making me assume it was going to be an hardcore action movie rather than what it is, a dystopian action thriller. Am not alone in this genre misplacement misinterpret as some sites online in their review, passes the movie off as an hardcore Action movie.

Koicereloaded et al. who had something good to good to say about the movie, I respect your views & wasn't in anyway trying to antagonize nobody but was just expressly stating my reviews which I guess were largely subjective as a result of my expectations & ultimate disappointment. Might try to see the movie objectively this time, to see what I actually missed.

It is when you focus on the technicalities of some stories that you will find it unsatisfactory. I chose to listen to the story and it's message, not how it was told that informed my high ratings. I think you should do the same thing

i watched it strictly for entertainment and honestly i wasnt impressed. it was just there nothing spectacular, anyone could have done it. 5/10 for sylar

Monty Python and the Holy Grail-

I never knew John Cleese of Fawlty Towers was a Python member.

There's something about the British accent that I find very intriguing, especially when used in slapstick comedy. One of my favorite scenes is the one with the foulmouthed French soldier. "I'll wave my private part at your aunties!" cheesy

The whole movie was nonsensical but very creative. I didn't laugh much, but the comedic aspects are classic. Absolutely classic!

There's a f**kton variety of comedies in there, not only slapstick. It made fun of religion, made fun of politics, broke the 4th wall, made sexual innuendoes, showed utter contempt for the audience (remember the literal cop-out abrupt ending?), etc. grin

When I watched it as a kid, I didn't get the humor, couldn't understand why Mom and Dad were laughing so hard, then later as an adult when I've become better acquainted with British humor, I watched it again, and literally 10 secs in, I knew I was in for a treat, and I wasn't disappointed. Then the Black Knight scene came on... I died laughing. Sh*t was funny as f**k grin grin

The entire exchange is so funny, esp,

"'Tis but a scratch"
"A scratch!? Your arm has fallen off!"

Then, the gem that got me rolling on the floor grin

"Just a flesh wound."

They don't make them like that anymore, alas cry

Watch Life of Brian. It's another work from Monty Python, and even funnier. IMO, arguably their best work.

mehn designated survivor is interesting, you need to watch that movie, the guy that acted as jack Bauer in 24 is the president in designated survivor.

About the former, I've heard of the movie but I've not watched it

The highlighted are NOT movies, they are [[[tv shows/tv series]]]. They are VERY (I can't stress this enough) different from movies.

@ishilove I watched Annabelle creation at midnight just to be sure why the movie made you make up your mind not to ever watch horror movies again. Was it because of the demon guy that kept showing once in a while?

Go and watch the making of most of these horror movies, you will actually laugh at the things you saw and scared you.

Lol, but dont forget the doll truly exist wink

Well, Hotel Artemis has a good storyline. And yes, less action but engaging. Hoping the sequel gives us more.

No new movie to download, sigh.

Yes, that Black Knight scene...it is funny. I just didn't laugh. Perhaps because I am not used to British surreal humour. My parents and older sibling were fans, but not I. The last set of British comedy shows (not surreal) I watched were 'Hallo Hallo' and 'Rent-a-Ghost'. Since then it's been American shows Animaniacs and Family Guy.

By nature, I've got my head too screwed on tight to be a fan of surreal comedy. It may elicit a couple of laughs, but I'm just too hard nosed grin

Some scenes do stand out in 'Holy Grail'- Like Lancelot's last minute rescue of Galahad from the castle filled with sex starved women. As they flee, Lancelot remarks "We just saved you from great peril!", to which Galahad replies 'can't I go back and face the peril?", and gets a sharp "no, it's too perilous!" as reply. cheesy

And then "I'll empty my clogged nose in your general direction!" by that foul mouthed Frenchman cheesy

I'll download 'Brian' when I can.

If I choose not to write lengthy notes on movies or shows I've watched then it's because I have my reasons. I don't owe you or anyone else that effort. I will review any show as I please, and if you don't like it, go and stick your head up a donkey's arse.

This is one of my favourite Monty Python scenes. It's the military segment from The Meaning Of Life.

The general was giving a speech about the importance of the military. He talked about competing ideologies, etc, then he said:

"And that's why we'll always need the military and may God strike me down if I'm wrong", and lightning immediately destroys the general.

The scene changes and we are shown the parade ground (outside the hall in which the general was speaking) and we see the finger of God withdrawing into the sky. Then this happens.

I watched one of John Cleese's interviews a long time ago and in that interview he explained how he got the idea for Fawlty Towers.

Monty Python was on location somewhere in rural England and they were lodged in a small hotel. He said that the hotel owner was one of the strangest, most irreverent and rudest people that he had ever met. All the actors were intrigued by him and that's when he decided that he had to do a show about that hotel owner. That show was Fawlty Towers.
