1) Not every Igbo on Nairaland believe what you claim. There are something like half a dozen of you that assert it all the time.
2) They do it because their ego is bruised from being told hard truths - and double-bruised when the hard truths come from a kinsman. Delegitimizing my origin soothes their ego better. Well, for such a "hampered" group, the Yorubas seem to have done pretty well for themselves home and abroad. And don't seem to aggravate other groups in Nigeria as much as Igbos while succeeding. I have said that "there is plenty of blame to go around", but pointed out Igbo behavior that contributes to this. Yorubas for example aren't as widely distributed around Nigeria as Igbos which might contribute to why there isn't as much conflict between them and other groups as with Igbos and their host communities. All I sought to point out was how Igbos contribute to the perception about them rather than solely arrogating blame to them. Case in point was your nonsensical point about Aniomas yesterday making it out like many of them reject Igbo identity because they are somehow jealous of us and fearful of our competitive dominance (nevermind that Aniomas are one of Nigeria's most successful clans). Arrogance like that contributes to the perception of Igbos in Nigeria, and contributes to the identity crisis of Igboid groups.

Planting trees of economic importance like palm trees, coconut trees, cocoa etc in large quantities at our borders with the northern state will save from desertification in the nearest future.
