Wallowing in sadness or self pity is the last thing you should be doing, what did you study in school?

Upgrade, get a Master's, do a PGD if necessary, start applying for graduate assistantship in universities, especially the ones in your home state or the private ones, once you're hardworking, it's a good place to start, abi you no wan become VC of a university some day? Think big!

PTDF local Master's scholarship is ongoing, 2.2 is accepted, have you applied?
Please do you have the link?

An advice to people in universities. Do any thing you can to come out with a 2.1. Don’t let that no job thing fool you. Read , cheat or buy 2.1, but do whatever it takes to come out with it. Get it first then listen to the no job story because your story can actually change with it. As for 2.2, there is actually no job unless you have somebody somewhere.

You got this part wrong....

Is 500k enough to start sth?
If given that, wat will u do to up it?
We can collabo. No jokes

I asked a couple graduate job seekers that question, no real answer.
500k is more than enough for me to star up sir. for me is agro related businesses. I buy , store for a couple of months and sell out. for instance a measure of maize was 130 two months ago, now it 200 and would like increase. part of shandam in jos sold beans for 150 during December last year, by march it was 400 in town. or do you want to talk about onions. the list is endless. the problem is that many youths are looking for get rich schemes. business where they invest #2 today and make #6 by 2morrow.
any business that promises you a 100% return on your invest after all expenses within a short period should be avoided.

Is not about graduating with 2-1 or 2-2. Is what is in your head will judge.. experience realy matter.. a 3rd class candidate may have 5 years expirence in a job and 2-1 is apply for the same job... who do you think they will choice.. they will have to go for the 3rd class candidate because of the experience is what you have upstair will determine the job.. and Nigeria now days. Look into experience and conection now... May God help us.
Re: Why Is Life So Unfair? by ChiefS(m): 9:17pm On Oct 07, 2018
My experience is similar to yours. I was best student in primary and secondary schools I attended but graduated with a 2.2 in year 2000. It wasn't easy but with determination and focus I have made considerable career progress as a top academic in a first generation University with a PhD and 2 Masters degrees including professional qualifications. See this as an opportunity to develop yourself. You may consider any of these routes depending on your passion:
I. Postgraduate studies
Ii. Vocational or skills acquisition
Iii. Entrepreneurship
You can also submit your CV to companies that employ 2.2 graduates. There are so many SMEs. Keep spreading your CVs. I'm sure God will help you if you do not despair.

In my place of work.. they only ask about degree.. bsc they don't care about the class of degree you have. Is what you can offer and the experience you have that can. Give the company to move forward..

My only mistake in life is not taking advantage of my gifting in school to build my future by now I would have been an employer of Labour but I'm working on that.I regretted ever channeling too much energy trying to graduate well.

Some people don't have the opportunity of going to school, here you are talking about 2.2 bullshit.

For the record, I'm even regretting why I went through school and wasted FOUR years.. Bullshit

Instead of going into entrepreneurship earlier and employ people like you, pay you like 100k monthly. You'll be happy right?

You think 2.1 is the end of it all?

If you don't have the creativity and brain you may die poor even with your salary as 2.1 holder. Bullshit graduate

I graduated with a 2.2, but my colleagues with 2.1 are not better than me. Why? I developed myself to be a better person.

It got to a stage I no more look for a job because I'm not happy being locked down from 9-5.

Registered my company name with CAC recently.

Get that freaking Skill-->Save Up--> Start a business.

You better open your eyes to opportunities around you, till then I wish you success.

This is the best comment I've read here on this matter... Op, you are there pitying yourself and complaining of how you've been at a teaching job for 3years not knowing it's this attitude that is keeping u there.

It's okay that u don't like your current state, decide on what you want to do next and start doing it. There's no time to start telling pitiable stories, probably looking to get succour.

I know of so many young people who had to drop out of school because of financial issues, currently they will pay you a 100k salary comfortably without having to sweat.

Stop complaining & move... You can't stay doing one thing consistently for 3 years n not see increase...jus keep moving

Let me tell you guys a brief story.
When i was in secondary school, i was the best student in my class. I was so good that I represented my school in any competition held.

Going to university, i still had that flare. I was still very serious. I read like a mad person , but due to some factors , my gp was really bad in yr 2 and 3. Regardless of the fact that I studied hard. Other years were good but it was unfortunate i came out with a 2.2 degree. If a degrees were to be given according to your level of seriousness, I would have made a first class.

However, i came out of school thinking that atleast its not like 2.2 is a bad result, It’s average. I tried looking for a job, but everywhere says minimum 2.1. I had to settle for a teaching job which i still do now. I have given up on looking for job because everyone says the same thing. 2.2 has made me believe i am no longer intelligent. People in my family, my friends , my colleagues at work all believe that i am intelligent. But my degree tells me otherwise.

Now here is what saddens me. A friend of mine whom i knew i was better than academically back in school posted a picture of a car given to him by his employer. He came out with a 2.1 (p:s he got that job without knowing anyone in the company,he saw it online and applied).Everyone in the department knew how he always passed his exams. Although i am genuinely happy for him, but I am sad for myself. Do employers think that we 2.2 graduates are totally worthless? Coming out with 2.1 is a nice achievement and many people who got it worked really hard for it but many factors can make a bright student come out with 2.2. I have been teaching for three years now and I sometimes ask myself, would I continue like this? I don’t want to be like some of my colleagues who are way older than i am and still teaching. I am 25.

This is sad

A major problem we're facing in Nigeria is unemployment and it is apparent that the government alone absorb the teaming number of unemployed youth. Irrespective of what CGPA you graduate with, stop searching and paying for jobs, Stop following the masses and carve out your own space. Be your own boss, start an online business using your phone or laptop.

Start an online business today, learn how to blog, use social media to make a fortune, build a brand, become an affiliate marketer, create an ecommerce store.

Online business is real work. Do you have a skill like writing, graphics and web design, voice over, social media management.

Are you patient and ready to work hard to build your own empire? Do you think investing in yourself is the best way to success and financial freedom?

Don't let life circumstances change your honesty... No Matter how much you study not everyone will pass.

Probably God has a choosen path of success that you have not known yet.

Just pray to God concerning your situation and he will guide you.

Note: It might also be a spiritual problem(battle).

Anyways just pray.
bros if God has a chosen path for him why can't he lead him to it?....there is nothing spiritual there,no job be say no job period...

Please change your mentality and be positive. I was once like you. Very brilliant in secobdary school. Went into university the next year after my waec. Didn't understand what university was all about. Thought peopke didn't fail university. Didn't know there was something like GP. Thought university was all about experiment and or researches, not about exams. Poor me. Timid from village. Hahaha. The circle of friebds I belonged to didn't help matter. Carefree folks like me. Very intelligent dudes but never serious with assignments and all. The long story short. I struggled out with a 2.2. It could have been worse. By that time, in fact by the time I was finishing 2nd yr, it had done on me I was on a long thing. Finding job to apply for was like passing through the eye of camel. In fact I never believed in the certificate. I was looking for how to better it by going oversea to further my studies as I gave up on Nigerian educational system. Made a couple of efforts in that regard and they all failed because of the obvious reason: no money. I suffered by doing some jobs I never thought I could do, including assisting a surveyor and doing sales rep on commission for years. But God was always there watching and my faith in him never wavered despite what I passed through. I started having better jobs. I would be in my house and I would be called for jobs through referal. I can go on and on.

So Op, what you need to do is to stay hopeful. Never you see your current job as the last however do it as if it's the only job in the world while at it. Again with your age and grade you can get good jobs in the banking sector. Don't make the mistake I made when I graduated and said I didn't like banking sector but that was the sector I first got my respectable white collar job after many years of graduation. All you need do is study GMAT, HTL, hope I got the name right.
Keep trusting God and trying your best as God is watching.

I may have typed gibberish but if you can pick even one good thing from it, it can be of some help. Don't give up. If you loot at the uncaring country we are in you will be frustrated. Peace!

Bro, itz not by the 2.2 or 2.1 oo.. Sm1 has a 2.1 and has still not gotten a job to be proud of since 5yrs.

And there re 2.2 graduates who got good jobs almist immediately they graduated.

So, there re a lot of things involved while each job seeker's case is peculiar to him and other things that surround him.

Itz deep. This is Nigeria

Maybe you relax when you got to the university, the right time to build on one's GP is at 200/300levels, anything outside that, it will be hard to build one's GP.
