Josh Maja is exactly what we demand from players in the obscure leagues. If u must play in a lower league, u must be the best. Maja is a giant in the midst of dwarfs hence, the interests pouring unlike certain players like Iorfa and Aneke who haven't done no jack, yet, their names are brandished around here by some folks for reasons best known to them. Until they stand out as Maja just did, sorry but nobody is gonna look their ways, not even our local football sites will write anything about them.

Everything in football is marred by short termism.

Not too long ago KC was worth near £30 million with a multitude of suitors. Within a season that view has changed dramatically. That's football.

When the NFF had Iorfa on thier Radar he was the considered one of the best young CB's in English football invited to train with the first team, winning MOTM awards as a teenager in the Championship.

At the time he committed to the SE he had just finished with England U21 two summers ago and still a regular for Wolves.

The Wolves situation has resulted in a FA investigation and claims of conflict of interest with the way Super agent Mendes has run Wolves. A club that has more Portuguese players than Benfica and Porto.

Currently l would be hard pressed under current circumstances to invite him. However, he is in a very unique situation of which his football is not the main issue.

Aneke was the stand out player in league and is now the stand out player in league two for MK Dons.

Iorfa is simply a player denied opportunity stuck in the politics of big money football.

It reminds me of when Brendan Rogers fell out with Sakho at Liverpool. Nothing to do with football he then went to Crystal Palace and the rest is history. I watched him training with the U23's for ages he did not loose quality just denied opportunity.

You didn't dismiss KC when for almost half the season he was relegated to playing with U23's you still reference to his exploits in Manchester city. Nobody talks about a goal tally of 4 goals in the EPL for a supposed striker. He has been called a flop in many circles not here. We still call him deadly striker.

What you have done is to create a hypocritical double standard.

How many goals has Isaac Success scored in.his third season in the EPL❓ But I see how you jubilate with unrestrained euphoria when he plays. That's double prejudiced standard.

I always say I would rather have a roaring lion from a lower league who is standing out and making waves than an anonymous mouse in the EPL.

Coach of the senior national team of Libya Adel Amrouche has quit his position as coach of the team ahead of their AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against Nigeria on Saturday, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

Reports gathered from various news outlets i‎n Libya has it that the coach left his role earlier today citing non-payment of his salaries for six months as the reason behind his decision to quit the team.

Libya have moved swiftly to replace the coach with the man he succeeded Omar Al-Maryami and he has already resumed training with the team at their base in Tunisia, where they are preparing for the game against Nigeria.

Group leaders Libya are expected in Nigeria on Thursday with a 54 man crew for the game, which could see them lose top spot if they fail to beat Nigeria and as expected South Africa beats Seychelles.

Hate or like Onazi... But he is still relevant to the Super Eagles and also a battle hardened midfield liuetenant. I am not even among his top fans but I am just saying it as it is. i will pick a player who plays consistently in a decent club as monaco and in a top league like the ligue 1 than dead woods playing for trapzonspor and hapoel beeer sheva in the turkish and isreali league. i only rate players who play for any of the top 3 teams in turkey which are galatasaray, fenebahche and besiktas, others are pretenders to me

if onazi still has it why didn't any decent club seek for his signature even when he was owned bag log of wages by trapzonspor? oooh i forgot birmigham showed interest hahahahahahahahahahaha

One thing that irks me most is our inability to learn from our past mistakes and we are hell bent on repeating them all over again and we expect to make progress.

SMH.

Prior to 2014 worldcup and post 2013 AFCON our strikers then(Emenike and Ideye) were experiencing goal drought we kept faith with them and were expecting a miracle from them at the Mundial. Late Keshi then dropped Ideye for a certain Shola Ameobi(a player who had 1 professional goal in 2years). These two players were preferred ahead of a red hot Obagoal who was turning heads in the MLS for Seattle Sounders. We all knew how the whole thing panned out. We qualified cos of luck and nothing more(to those who will like to dispute that should remember that, had Dzeko's goal had not been ruled for offside, your guess is as good as mine)

Fast forward to 2018 same scenerio played out both Ighalo and Kelechi were poor for the national team and we were all hoping they will hit form at the World Cup. You and I know how that too ended.

My major concern now is us sticking to these guys despite them not delivering post Russia the way we did with Emenike. Someone needs to sound some notes of warning to Rohr. We seem to be towing the same part again.

The federation too are not exempted from this attitude. They toyed with Alaba in 2007 today it is Eze I just hope we won't look back and regret it.

Make I stop here jare.

I'll like both Ighalo and Nacho to be excused from the national team if they both fail to deliver this coming double header. No one has the sole ownership to the national team.

Wishing them all the best.

I hope you do champagne my good man.

Look Chris... I know all about the strengths and weaknesses of all major African sides and even the ones who are giant killers like Capeverde. The problem you have is that you are too obsessed with anything Ivorian and Senegalese that you look down on your own.

So who is Doukoure, Angban and Die compared to Etebo? An Etebo that shone like a million stars at Russia 2018?!! Funny.

Who is Ahoulou and Sangare to Ndidi and Onazi? It is only Seri and Kessie that gets a mention as real Ivorian midfiled Lords there abeg compared to the likes of Ndidi, Onazi and Etebo.

Even Joel Obi plays in Serie A. Which Ivorian midfielder in Ligue 1 is his mate?

I could go on but you clearly look down on what is present in the Super Eagles. It is just too obvious.

If you look at it objectively, there are people who are obviously tribalistic or bias towards analyzing player performance. If those people only criticize Nacho when he has a bad game that can be overlooked because they are overtly tribalist,to the point of being silly (not that I personally have a problem with someone being tribalist if they can still use their brain).. However, that a few are tribalist does not mean the other people should worship a piss poor player to the point of cyberbullying others into resignation. That is so wrong. 2 wrongs don't make a right and I say Bleep them Iheanacho worshippers! Iheanacho has been poor over a number of games both for club and country. He notably stood out in that Huddersfield game. They can bow to Iheanacho 10 times a day facing the east, their fucking business. Iheanacho can do much better,I'm not cutting him no slack anymore with that much potential and at this current level.
lol bow to iheanacho 10x facing east lol you make a fair point i agree some praise of KC has gained tended to hero worship. However my point is there are two sides of the extreme instead of the middle ground when it comes 2 KC's matter either extreme beef or extreme praise that will make you think whether iheanacho is the second coming of maradona

I am surprised at your proposition, do you really think that the only person that selects players is Rohr.

If you do then I wonder where you have been

Pinnick has gone on record to say that the NFF is hands off in player selection and the technical committee have also publicly stated that they don't see the list until it is released.
So unless you have a video from that Ghanaian reporter saying otherwise you are blowing hot air.

That is another fallacy. There is a middle ground. I am the middle ground. I have criticised Nacho hotly and also praised him enormously. What I don't do in my critique is label Nacho as "a dog who sticks out his tongue while panting" as someone on this thread described Nacho pages back. I also won't label Nacho as "an average talent" or call him "a non-entity and a poor talent" as most Nacho haters, forming Critics, do. Why? because it is simply untrue and born out of plain dislike which they all deny.

Because I don't do what they do in my own critique, they term it whatever they term it just to have a good night rest. This has gone on for way too long that even you are missing the fact that we have three sides to this Nacho talk.

I am for a blend and school of thought that focuses more on the Positives and encouraging signs of Nacho's growth than on the negatives which I can mention in analysis but refuse to dwell continuously upon and overmagnify as Haters do. He had fine games against Bournemouth, Liverpool, Huddersfield and Newcastle. It took these dark hearted haters more than two weeks of EPL action to gain their voice against Nacho only because of the Everton game. A game in which the entire Leicester team underperformed especially Morgan.

See ehn... Iheanacho is special and as always he must have haters. This is just what Mikel Obi suffered while he grew into the Super Eagles too. Nacho is a lad that must be protected from the snares of the haters club. I beat Nacho after that South Africa game and have always chipped in with a few words of "he must improve here and improve there and up his consistency" but what I won't do is label him a dog and talk trash about him like people who don't like the kid do. That is absolutely barbaric and silly.

All these Ivorians you are mentioning....hum...you did not add Gervinho at Parma....

Anyway... my own is that individuals do not make a team...they need to gel which may be fast or slow depending on the type of coaching they receive...however...they had all these players yet did not qualify for world cup....i think one thing will undo them...ego...they have it in abundance like Dutch national team of years ago of Edgar Davies,Kluivert,Cocu,Bergamp, that Ghana coach now..etc

Teams in North Africa have this kind of arrangement.

They must not play against other U21 teams from other countries they can play against the senior teams of less fancied African countries or top NPFL sides.

As for finance, they can use the funds set aside for the U23 team to run it. After all the same players who are U21 in 2018 will be U23 in 2020. So they can make it preparatory games for the U23 team and also seize the opportunity to pluck some ripe fruits from amongst them to join the Super Eagles.

In addition, they said he is useless from the wings. And yet most of his assists this season have come from the wings.
I also belong to the group that believed he was 'used-less' on the wings as he was our best bet in providing the needed support for the attack. When we had the two Moses and lacked a creative AMF and our attack was suffering from lack of supplies, Iwobi been a very good creative player with vision was suggested to be drafted behind the striker to help solve the problem of creativity the team was experiencing then and his performances in the friendly matches against Argentina, England and Poland where he was deployed to the center justified the claim then.

Happy Emery is getting the best out of him.

For now, we may not need that for the U17 & U19.

Remember the aim is to assess young professionals who are looking ready to break into the Super Eagles.

If the NFF want I can voluntarily draft out a workable model for this U21 age grade set up.
