SlayerForever:in which recent times? When he played Liverpool and helped Leicester get an equalizing goal he was also piss poor abi? You people should go and knack your head on the wall if Iheanacho praise is giving you brain aneurysms. When we are here praising Success or Osimhen, problem, we praise Iheanacho too, problem. So, we should not encourage him? Last season when this same Iwobi was getting flack from Arsenal fans, we were here pitying him and talking about how to lift his spirits. Where were you? Iheanacho today is better than Iheanacho four months ago. If you were actually watching with clear eye, you would know, but you people are suffering from selective amnesia. The boy is improving, he may have a few bad games, but that is football. Salah that scored up to 40 goals last season is looking for goals this season, but some people said he is not to be spoken ill of, but Iheanacho is fair game to anybody who wants to make it in life. I cannot even respond when certain hypocrites write about Iheanacho, because their hands are usually riddled with leprosy when he plays well and they only become healed the day he has a bad game. Some people die inside everytime Kelechi plays well and then ressurect when he doesn't. All of you dragging the boy never reach, face the wahala in your yard and leave this baby boy for us. Even on a bad day, the pikin still register assist and you want to tell us there is no anointing oil on his head 9 Likes |

TheSuperNerd:*smiles* Let me remind you that the last time Nacho had a goal or assist for the SEs came last year November (that's 11 months) and if I'm not mistaken he has played in as many games as the SEs have played in the past months. That doesn't speak well for the caliber of talent he carries. No doubt about is youthfulness and he still has a lot of years ahead of him. Don't you think 'excusing' him for sometime will do him a lot of good? Such exclusion may make him see reasons to work harder and come back to be relevant. Look at Musa for example. So many people wanted him out simply because he was in a dormancy state(he wasn't even getting game time but look how he grabbed the opportunity given to him and he played his way back into reckoning - presently he is an indisputable starter. But when it comes to Jude and Nacho na different story and what is good for the geese should also be good for the gander. To be frank, I wasn't happy with Nacho's performance at the Mundial. Over pampering him and Ighalo won't help them at all. One player Rohr hasn't been fair to is Simy. Of the two matches were he played 45 minutes or more, he was excellent, i.e against Congo and Liberia he hit the wood work once and scored in the other and now he has been dropped without us seeing what he can offer. Rohr has not been fair in the way he has been dealing with his players. I believe if anyone is to be dropped for a new striker (Success), it should have been one of Ighalo and Iheanacho and not Simy. Ighalo scored via penalty in his last game after missing so many begging chances, Nacho on the other hand hits the upright from a free kick(the highlights of their performances in 11months) No Nigerian players(strikers) has experienced such pampering like this two have enjoyed. This is what we called double standards which in turn promotes mediocrity. Calling for them to be excused if they fail to deliver (which I don't pray) in the double header against Libya isn't too much to ask for. Note:Had Tammy, don the GWG and performed below par just like these two and gets similar treatment as the above players, I am so sure that the cry of Nepotism and Favoritism will fill the social media pages. AIG07:who are they excusing for? Bigger SMH for you people. You remind me of Oliseh when he was talking big on Super Sports about Keshi's team, the day Pinnick mistakenly gave him work, my guy enter team scatter everything come leave Siasia make e use eba join wetin e scatter Talk is cheap. You are talking of problems and you are not preferring solutions. If Ighalo and Iheanacho are excused, who you wan use replace them? Which strikers do we have doing it big? Do you think it is easy to remove players and replace them? So, after the double header, our next game against SA, you will bring in NEW, UNTESTED, UNPROVEN strikers and HOPE they score goals on their DEBUT for the National team? Where in the world are things done like that? Please, give us a list of five strikers that can replace those two, so, we will see how to reason with you. 8 Likes |

AIG07:olorun mi.....Congo and Liberia? Liberia that fielded George Weah? We are counting that one too as a game? How many goals does Simy have this season? Simy was duly dropped because of Success, Kelechi and Ighalo have posted better performances than him this season. It is a logical choice here. Scoring against some Liberian team that would be trashed by NPFL U-15 and hitting the woodwork against Congo are not the standards for any striker. I like Simy, but your postulation are wayyyyyy off 3 Likes |

It is abysmal... This guys re not doing deir job,am sure if u run a company with dis two guys as employees, by d end of d year when u re evaluating each department, u will get dem FIRED ,I think I support AIG07 on dis, even if we get to win d two double header against Libya and d two players fail again to score, den I don't think it will be wise to keep calling "barren" strikers to d National team.dey gave ighalo/nacho chance to proof deir mettle and we av seen d result so far, most especially ighalo,.let d coaching crew give odas chance too Rohr and his scout shld comb home and abroad for two or three no 9,by d time we test all,we will get a better replacement. safarigirl:I pray they deliver. Imagine a scenario where both played the two matches as our point men and they failed again. Imagine other team members not scoring and we ended up with 2points. Imagine SA defeating Seychelles home and away. By that time everyone eyes go open. Ighalo has a record of a goal per year in the last 3years for the national team. What's the probability that he will score again having scored already this year. Same Ighalo has neither provided an assist in the Last 1 year nor win a penalty for us. Nacho on the other hand too hasn't been anywhere close to be the deliverer for the past 1year. Don't you think trusting the duo again after Libya won't be hoping against all hopes? We played SEYCHELLES and both struggled again. What is the assurance they will deliver against SA if they fail against Libya. Don't forget SA won us right there in our back yard with same Nacho clocking 70minutes plus. We might not have the pool of players to displace them. But their presence is/will interfering with the few available(Musa and Success). There is no way a conservative Rohr will think through with the two in camp. Their is no way he will find alternative solutions like. -Tweaking the formation. Switching to the 3-5-2 or so. -Starting Musa as top 9 or Success The man on seeing the two will play his 4-2-3-1 just to accomodate one of them. I hope you are seeing the effect of the inability of the duo to live up to expectations. 3 Likes |

safarigirl:Less you forget,it was reported that FIFA duly recognized the encounter. You made it look as if the whole Liberian team was full of overaged players. It was a team made up of their current national team players bar just three ex-international. If it was that easy why didn't we score more than 2 and conceded 1. I am so sure that team will defeat the Seychelles. Don't tell me you just mention Congo just like that. Hahaha... It was Ekong's goal that separated a world cup bound team and the so called and underrated Congolese side. If Nwakali can be invited on the back of his performance against an inconsequential match (ATM) why shouldn't Simy be retained after scoring Liberia. Don't forget Club performance gets you noticed and invite but national team performance keeps you. Ighalo's club performance got him the invite but he has repeatedly been poor in the GWG. So what is he waiting for? |

AIG07: More lies.... Nacho had an assist against Seychelles. Same kind of Assist that he bagged against Egypt. Also, he had an assist against DRC in the pre WC friendly. He clipped the ball into Ekong's path. So those facts alone cancels out your whole epistle of "drop Nacho". Research deeper next time. 4 Likes 1 Share

Where is this silly talk of "if Ighalo and Nacho fails to score in the Libya games, they should both be discarded" coming from again? I thought it is only Ighalo that plays up top as the Number 9 naa? In the last game he played as the no 9 with Nacho playing behind him as makeshift AM. Is it not the duty of the no.9 to get the goals? Nacho behind Ighalo produced an assist off a brilliantly taken freekick and folks here are feeding us lies that he got involved in goals or assists for us since November last year and worse, they are roping him in with Ighalo for goals responsibility. When did we start playing 4-4-2?? Lol... It is 4-2-3-1 and Nacho played behind Ighalo and got an assist for his troubles. The onus is on Ighalo getting the goals not Nacho... Why? because Ighalo is the team's number 9 not Nacho in the 4-2-3-1 set-up. Let us be fair in analysis abeg. When Nacho failed to deliver as a no 9 against South Africa no one roped in someone else. No one called Ighalo. But now that Ighalo has been so poor in the GWG in terms of goals return, they wanna rope Nacho into the equation too. Is this not another form of attack on the young man? What is his business with Ighalo failing to find the back of the net? Nacho has not scored a goal and have shown poor form in terms of goals return this year... that is true.. but he has been involved directly in two goals via two assists with the last coming against Seychelles. Nacho offers a genuine goal threat for the team and this is obvious most of the times the lad dorns the GWG. This is not about Nacho but about the Health of the team. ARE WE GOING TO IGNORE OUR HIGHEST GOALS PRODUCER UNDER GERNOT ROHR (6 goals and four assists) because OF A FEW PAST BAD GAMES? IN OTHER WORDS, ARE WE GOING TO CAST AWAY A YOUNG STAR WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED DIRECTLY IN MORE GOALS THAN ANY OTHER SUPER EAGLE UNDER THE GAFFER SINCE 2016? Be team conscious and not player-conscious. A player that is vital to the team is a key part of the team. In fact, he among other vital players are THE TEAM and it will be foolish to destroy that. Now quit the Nacho witch hunting (either in subtle or apparent form) and focus on the best of the team even if it means admitting that Nacho is still very much important to the team. The truth won't hurt if you just let it flow "gently". Now saddle up... We got a game to win on Saturday and must support whoever get out on that field of play. We are the Super Eagles. #SoarSuperEagles The new generation is still on the rise. Still give it time.... 6 Likes 1 Share

I repeat, if(when) Ebere Eze moves to a epl club - he is gone. Southgate will cap him before we can blink. This same Southgate capped Solanke who had little to no game time...what makes you think he'll wait for Nigeria to call Eze? This was a very well calculated move from England. Rohr fanboys will look for all the excuses in the world to justify this buffoonery. I don't think that guy learnt anything from the world cup. He's already back to playing Ndidi - Onazi as a pivot. I tire for that guy. 6 Likes |

SlayerForever:that is how you all called Mikel slowbie and bench warmer and accused him of killing all our games, today who is praise singing Mikel? This idea of throwing people out anyhow is the reason we cannot have a decent national team. This Ahmed Musa everyone is praising was once the butt of jokes, he was once running around like a headless chicken with no end game. There was a time once Ahmed Miss holds ball, everybody go siddon because e no dey enter net. Today, he is the one you people are using as example for Kelechi and Ighalo. Forgetting that he was once Kelechi and Ighalo, imagine if we had sent him out that time? Do you remember the numerous calls to have him axed? Do you remember when he was the one on the bench? The one whose inclusion was questioned? Today old things are passed away and Ahmed Musa is a hero. You see what happens when a player is allowed to grow without throwing him away? The only reason why most people give Kelechi a pass over Ighalo is because of age. Kelechi is still fairly young, he can still grow, Ighalo is nearing the end and it is hard to see growth for someone close to 30. This you people's throw them all out suggestion is poorly thought out considering you can't really find prolific strikers that are Nigerian. I am still waiting for AIG07 and his list of strikers that will replace Kelechi and Ighalo. Feel free to assist him 3 Likes |

QPR Ebere Eze has refused to shut the door on a potential switch of allegiance back to Nigeria despite earning his first call up to the U20 national team of England. Eze trained with the Nigerian team when they had their training camp in London a little over a year ago but since then he has not been called up by coach Gernot Rohr despite his impressive showing for QPR in the English Championship. He was handed his first call up to the U20 of England last week but that has still not stopped the former Millwall midfielder from his dream of representing Nigeria at senior level. In an interview with QPR official periscope channel , Eze confirmed his desire to still represent Nigeria at senior level and Owngoalnigeria.com caught a glimpse of the interview where he made the claims before it was deleted by the club. A playmaker on the pitch, his open declaration for Nigeria will no doubt ease the pressure on coach Rohr of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who has received lot of criticism over his decision to snub the 20 year old in the list of players called up for the back to back games against Libya. 1 Like |

Sunderland forward Josh Maja is reportedly a summer transfer target for three Premier League clubs. The 19-year-old forward has made a blistering start to the season scoring nine goals in 12 League One matches. Maja's goals have fired Sunderland up to third in the League One table and he currently sits top of the divisions goalscoring chart. Unsurprisingly, his form has attracted potential suitors and a report in The Mirror this morning cites Southampton, Tottenham and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City as interested parties. Maja is out of contract in the summer and if the Black Cats cannot tie him down to a new deal soon, they run the risk of losing him for a small compensation fee. It is one of Sunderland's top priorities to sort out Maja's future with both the club and Jack Ross stating they want him to stay beyond this season. Maja himself has admitted he would be open to negotiate a new deal but with big clubs sniffing, he is free to talk to other clubs in January before potentially leaving at the end of the season. Speaking last month, he said: "It would help everybody if we could get a resolution before January. "For the club and for him, it would help. You want the removal of any uncertainty, and if we can do that as a club it would help us and help Josh as well. "Naturally his start to the season has just heightened the attention around him, so we want to make sure he stays here at Sunderland and that he plays a part in the clubs' ambitions. "He'll have decisions to make when that comes around, but one thing I think about him is he is happy and enjoying his football. "Hopefully, as a young man, he is not too much of a rush to get somewhere he may get to eventually if he keeps doing what he's doing." Maja will miss tonight's Checkatrade Trophy clash with Carlisle with an ankle injury but is expected to be fit to return to the side for the trip to Shrewsbury later this month. |

Newcastle United were keen to sign Sunderland's Josh Maja in the summer, according to reports. Josh Maja of Sunderland warms up ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between QPR and Sunderland at Loftus Road on March 10, 2018 in London, England. Newcastle United must be disappointed that they didn’t force through a move for Josh Maja in the summer, after his blistering start with Sunderland this term. The Daily Mail claimed that Newcastle were plotting to raid their rivals for Maja when they were relegated into League One. However, Rafael Benitez’s side did not force through a deal, and that may end up being an error. Maja has started this term brilliantly at Sunderland, and he has shot his way to the top of the League One scoring charts. The Sunderland forward has fired nine goals already this term, with Premier League sides now taking attention of his form. Josh Maja of Sunderland during the Sky Bet League One match between Luton Town and Sunderland at Kenilworth Road on August 11, 2018 in Luton, United Kingdom. Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Southampton are all after Maja, according to the Daily Mirror, and Newcastle may well be viewing him as one who got away now. Newcastle have struggled going forward this term, but Maja could have offered them pace, mobility and a clinical finish. And, at the age of 19, the Sunderland forward looks to have an extremely bright future ahead of him now. |
