Cherryola: Sorry for the incessant denials by IRCC. It is better to write the member of parliament of the area your prospective institution is located in. The MP might be able to look into your legitimate concern. After having done so, I will advice you apply again online tackling the concerns raised as objections to your qualification for a TRV. Extend your tentacles to option B countries whose visa applications are not as obstructive as Canada. Best wishes! |

Cherryola:Hello sir, is your intended program of study English Language foundation? If otherwise, the VO's may not need to defend their decision as you might have succeeded in making their case for them. Please next time, you may use an online grammar checker as it seems you have inadvertently put a question mark on the integrity of our education system and this may result in compulsory English tests such as IELTS, TOEFL or PTE examination as a prerequisite for future prospective students. I understand you might have written in annoyance but the number of errors is regrettable. Kindly do something about it like recalling or updating it after blaming "auto-correct". Lastly, we do not really have the statistics to blame Kenya peeps. Some people may be silently getting their approvals and walking away without feedback. I have noticed 1 or 2 people who screamed out of frustration only when they became afraid of their situation. In Nigeria, it is common place to see 3,000 applicants apply for job openings for 50 people. The VO's may be in the same situation. You cannot really blame the company when they eventually engage the 50 people they can accommodate just the same way we may not be able to fault the VO's. Your application may be air tight and excellent in your opinion as well as that of the case officer but they do not operate in a vacuum as there are other constraints to contend with. Please take it easy. I lost a friend who was supposed to get married a little over a week ago about 3 weeks back. Sometimes, when you see a problem, you realise that you should be thanking God for so many things we fail to appreciate, like life. I am guilty of such ingratitude oftentimes as well. May it be well with us. Apologies for the refusal. Been there too many times. 8 Likes 1 Share |

galala123: Sorry for the loss of your friend. The subject matter of your response has not made a case for anything by his grammatical errors. They will be reading fromK the point that English is not his official language, otherwise they would not have even replied him. The school who gave him admission did this knowing his competance or lack thereof. He is good to go, but I will attach a caveat that next time he writes, especially when dealing with CIC, he should do his due diligence in using more than functional English. 5 Likes |

Cherryola: Like others have said, I'll advise you to withdraw this email and send another one, devoid of unforgivable grammatical infelicities. You can blame the first one on auto-correct or anything else. If you allow this to go, you may even have unwittingly defended the Visa Officers' delay in issuing Visas to Nigerians as they will argue that many applicants do not meet the minimum English language requirements. 2 Likes |

jnyuwa02:Thanks for putting me in line. I completely agree with you boss, though It would be more excusable for people from countries such as India, China, Pakistan, etc as I think English is our official language. It seems we are exempt from IELTS/ TOEFL by Canada because they recognise our level of English competence. Anyway, his brain may be scientific calculator as some people are exceptional in one field like the Chinese... after laughing at their English, they will surprisingly dust you in class and leave you wondering how they answered the exam question. Did you consider the request for case notes I suggested? 1 Like |

rebeccausoro:It may then be added as a requirement and more money for the test providers who are seriously lobbying for such opportunity -less money in our pockets and one more thing to worry about for us. I recently wrote PTE for Ireland Study Visa as part of the requirements of the Embassy and I wrote IELTS for Australia a few years ago. It seems students need to write exams for UK study as well unless you are going for English or foundation programs. On a different note, I saw someone at Abuja VFS earlier today when I went to check for my passport. The guy sat at a corner for like forever reading his letter which I guess was from Nairobi after opening his package. It was like his world came tumbling down. I asked him if he was on Nairaland but he said "no". I felt his pain. When your application is before them, you can't really plan anything effectively as everything seems to depend on the outcome of the Application. I also met a lady who is on NL too there but I've forgotten her moniker. Think Lady in Blue. 2 Likes |

rebeccausoro: Nawa ohhh. He only failed to review his writeup properly. Every letter, SOP, e.t.c is like a sculpture (work of art), a sculptor comes back to polish and shine it everyday not because it's not good enough, but simply cus it deserves to be super, so go through whatever over again to catch those words you improvised. We all make mistakes and there is an app called Grammarly, a free writing assistant you might find useful. Mind you no one here is bashing you for writing a letter riddled with grammatical errors but for putting it out like that you. Simply imploring you to do better cus of another time. This kind leaves a perception. No matter what. 3 Likes 1 Share |

jnyuwa02: Boss, that guy's English is really bad. Go through what he wrote again, you will almost not make sense out of it. I was even ashamed when I read it, and no doubt the person who will read it will have the feeling that the writer is not serious. 2 Likes |

Trapping: I do not condone his bad English structure. But what he wrote is functional, meaning one can read it and understand what he intended to convey. Having lived in the west a long time, I know that they don't make a big fuss in requiring strict grammer expectations from international students. They simply assume that such persons are non native speakers of English and cut them some slacks. They won't take him not to be serious simply because of his grammer. Otherwise he won't have received a response. The visa office though will not take him to be a serious and bona-fide student if he writes that way. So he might want to watch out with strict grammatical conformity when dealing with the visa office. But so far I can tell you no harm has been done. He will receive a reply to his enquiry from the MP. 4 Likes |

Austacus: I did not submit another admission letter for Winter. However, I will still have to send it to them because of the POE verifications. I didn't notify them about the medical again. They updated it as passed demselves. Although, I sent a mail yesterday night informing them that my application has used 16weeks and it's more than the 14 weeks on the site. |

Please while filling the Application from for my student permit, there was a space requesting for "Country applying from" My question is; which Country would I fill in there,as I am not in Nigeria at the moment, also the Country I am in presently does not have Canadian Embassy. So, I would need to travel to a nearby Country (Trinidad and Tobago) that has Canadian Embassy for my Biometrics and Passport submission. Also, if I would fill in Trinidad as the answer, it is requesting for the date I arrived the "Country of Application" of which I cannot go there until I am requested to come for biometrics. My Application is done Online. 1 Like |

canadabyfire:Hello guys, Please it's better we take to meaningful advise..... it helps how we interact, especially with the outside community. Yes you are right... @ response above and it's for us to make amends and move on. To buttress your point; AND FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO LEARN THE FACTS.... 1. Yes... Visa issuance into any country in the world including Nigeria is a PRIVILEGE... ok! Just as Canada prints clearly on the driver license form (driver license is a privilege) 2. English is Nigeria's official language and you will equally be tested on this at some point... if you intend to migrate! Grammar or choice of words may not matter to an MP.. and it's not a disease but also not a crime to let someone check for you before sending to such high caliber officials. 3. ask yourself some basic questions about eligibility requirements before you even submit your application... cos if you can't answer rightly, you should know the response to your application before it leaves your sight! 4. Embassies & high Commissions DO NOT establish presence in other countries because of Visa fees or other petty reasons...... their existence is purely for diplomatic reasons. 5. Reasons for tight university admissions in most of Canada provinces is due to the limited number of such institutions that are here...... most regions have 1 or NO university! The slots are usually not enough for Canadians themselves and remember it's not just Nigerians who are applying. My regards. 5 Likes |

jandj:2020 is a long time from now.... you only need 6 months validity from the time your Visa will be issued... plus TRV is only required for travels and not a permit. As a matter of fact, you only need a TRV renewal if you intend to travel out of Canada and return... (the tone of cic info on their website does not encourage you traveling out) Your validity is good! Regards |

Thoyour:The question is clear..... country where you are applying from!!... NOT where you are submitting your form. Also note... your present immigration status at your country of residence matters a whole lot... "times to home country" Regards 1 Like |

Dear house, I finally received a response from CIC. However, I was delayed and will soon go about reapplying. This application was my first and I believe it was well packaged as I am an avid reader of the thread and I also used a top immigration lawyer based in Canada and I have an unblemished travel history. Submitted online on 1st of June. Biometrics was done on the 7th. I sent several CSE's and got a denial yesterday. I applied for a course in a trade as I recently started a business in that trade and needed further education to boost and improve my business. The trade isn't taught in the Universities which is why I had to apply to a college. Deny was adduced to purpose of study but will be applying for my gcms shortly to get a specific reason. Contributions will be welcome to get this sorted. Also thinking of a judicial review but yet to decide on if this will be a better option. Opinions are welcome and I look forward to being successful in a trade that I believe will enhance me personally and my society at large. 2 Likes |
