National Teams Thomas Dennerby tips Chindinma Okeke for greatness, hints on her invitation to the Super Falcons Head coach of the Super Falcons, Thomas Dennerby has tipped Chidinma Okeke as one of the possible prospects that will be part of the senior national team set up when they begin their title defence later this year in the African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON). Dennerby said there are other players from the Christopher Danjuma’s U20 team who have been part of the Falcons team but rated Okeke as one of the players that played very well for Nigeria in the recently concluded FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in France. Okeke worked her way through the Falconets side to be the indispensable element of the side in every game at the U20 World Cup in France. She been hailed by the Swedish tactician who also hinted her likely invitation to the Super Falcons side. It is not surprising then for the head coach of the Falcons to describe her as an important element to the Falconets squad. “She is a member of the Falconets squad that played so well at the U20 World Cup. She will be invited to the Super Falcons team in preparation for the African Women’s Cup of Nations,” Dennerby told Footballlive.ng. “Some other members of the Falconets like Glory Ogbonna, Christy Ucheibe and Chiamaka Nnadozie are already part of the Super Falcons team. But Okeke proved herself in France.” The coach added that Okeke is a great player in the making as her tactical understanding is very sharp to get her to the level she wants to be. Editor. 1 Like |

When is d draw for the awcon group stage self ? Or has it been made already? |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:32am On Sep 06, 2018 |
Danielnino00:No the draws have not been made. Ghana's hosting has been shaking and I think CAF was panicking a bit since the Accra stadium and other one werent ready. I think Ghana will just make it, as the logistics for hosting 8 teams isnt that much. Kenya is on standby, but it is somehow too close to change hosts now. |

I don't like the fact that Oshoala didn't get a single vote from her coach, captain or media officer. That one should have been by force if u ask me. Her numbers were top notch and she won 2 trophies. There was no world cup or Olympic so I don't get why she can't be in the conversation especially within her team. 1 Like |

Faith Ikidi playing well as her team Pitea currently lead Linkoping by 4-2. Pitea currently lead the Swedish league. It looks to me that she's playing as a centre back for her club. Maybe that position is better for her due to her age. 1 Like |

Schemerkhiz: I have been having sleepless nights over our lack of a known DMF option. We need to figure that out. I am leaning towards Ucheibe Christy off the back of her wc performance but we need to see more. Our attack can get into any lineup IMO. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:46pm On Oct 14, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz: The coach's job is made easier when the players come to camp in form. He only needs to work on tactics. I see a lot of confidence from the South Africans, but I'm quite confident the Falcons are well above other african teams when the chips are down. We have a strong midfield and attack. Our defence might be the weakest link, but they are working hard. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli:Evelyn Nwabuoku is there Amarachi Okoronkwo also Osarenoma Igbinovia is available and she is currently playing as a DMF for Bayelsa Queens... Christy Ucheibe is still very young and needs alot of experience for the big stage... Experience Rita Chikwelu can also be deployed as a DMF... But she best perform as an Attacking midfielder/Center Midfielder. 1 Like |
