Statement of purpose...it's a letter u write stating everything about you A-Z,your family, what they own, what you do, why you want to study in Canada, why the school you have chosen etc...since u ain't doing a one on one interview, that's what the Visa officer reads to tell him or her if u are to be offered visa or not...thats why we here emphasis on it...it has to be well structured, straight to the point and each item u mention on it, u must have a document backing it up...if u are gonna lie, make sure your lie is backed up airtight...Peace...wish you well
SOP has nothing to do with your family background, the bolded is what you're ask to write. And if you miss that track you will get rejection on the ground of purpose of visit. Write only on why you want to study in Canada and job prospect of your course after graduation. If you write out this two then expect refusal

Good day people, I have been a disciple of this travel section for some years now and I found it interesting and enlightening.
I graduated with second class lower (3.34 GP) in Agricultural Engineering, Farm power and Machinery option.
my aim is to do my masters in Mechanical Engineering e.g. production, Automobile, etc
my Questions are:
+ Can I get a master programme with my result in Canada or USA?
+ If yes, which university?
please I need your honest Advice.

Meanwhile, guys i thought SOP and LOE are suppose to be the samething. I noticed some people submit the two. How come?

Its actually called LOE not SOP. The LOE is for visa application and the SOP is for for admission purpose but I'm surprised to see the mix up on this forum. So be guided and don't bandwagon

It maybe difficult to get masters admission with 2:2 in Canada but not impossible OK, however USA is your sure bet with 2:2.

Good evening all, I’m not going to bore you with my story, but seeking an honest advice from you all. I’m an HND graduate in Urban and Regional planning with Lower credits; I intend to secure an M.sc admission with my educational status which is somehow difficult to achieve. What do you guys think i should do to make this dream a reality?

Felixsun20:

Oh yes of course! You can apply for a PGD after which you'll go further to start your Master's program if you want. This is a better option than going to start a fresh BSc program considering your age and again, the VO may want to refuse you a visa citing your age as a factor.

What of someone that finished with a third class and want to go for another degree program in Canada ? Or PGD ?

Heeheeen !! Who told you a 3rd class degree can later go for masters after completion of PGD in Canada ?

Education as no age limit bro.

Evaluate your HND with WES. It will be evaluated as a 5year Undergraduate degree. You can then use it to apply for M.sc admission in the US( I am not sure about Canada, you can always send a mail to your program supervisor/admission committee).

Thank you brother hotcakept2. Your cake is always intact and can only be accessed outside this thread. As for those Kenya demons or guys in makano's voice. I can see they are turning into something else (maybe dragon lord's) and the huge rate of refusals from their office is turning up daily. But, God is the greatest because many folks applications in here will be surely be approved whether Kenya o or London. Once again I appreciate your kind wishes.

Dear Jeremy - I spoke to IRCC regarding your study permit application. Standard processing time is 14 weeks. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% can take longer or like yours, a lot longer.

The file is actively in progress. Biometrics have been received, medical passed and the support letter received from your university has been added to the application. Sorry, we do not have the authority to appeal to IRCC to expedite your application. Hope this information is helpful.

Sincerely,

@Jnyuwa02 Just keep your fingers crossed. God is great and he will do it. You can only get an approval trust me! They ve got no option. And also pray more to possess your possession. This letter says a lot already. The heights that you destined for can only be delayed but it cannot be changed.

Sorry boss, just want to ask what SOP means. I'm new here and not familiar with some of the terms and abbreviations used here .

Thanks once again

It means statement of purpose, it's a letter explaining why you want to come to Canada and study. It's actually a letter of explanation as stipulated on the website.
