[quote author=Kriff post=72161645]I got my offer letter from University of Ottawa after 11 weeks of submission. According to the mail I got from them, it was stated as follows "Please keep in mind that the evaluation process takes an average of 10-12 weeks from the time a file is considered complete; you will be notified via e-mail if there are any changes or updates regarding your file." I'm not sure if this is for all faculties or just Engineering.

Thanks for this reply. I submitted my applicatiion against fall 2019. Hopefully, before christmas, I should have my letter so I start preparing for visa application January 2019

GCMNOTES is completely different from that papers that you are given.
"I see people saying it is the same thing but more detailed", Big lie....

Lets assume you got a white letter ticked for Purpose of Visit and Travel history!

Don' be surprised to see in your GCM notes that the "sponsor doesn't have enough or steady flow of funds"........

Oya tell me if Purpose of Visit and Travel history have anything to do with Funds?

Most people here make comments on what they read on here, Most of them not have a direct experience.

Kriff:
It's always the same reason and it's more detailed. Although some seems to be generic also but at least you will be sure of the real reason.

I may be wrong, but from what I understand is that LOE is Letter of Explanation which clarifies the issues of visa denial, while SOP is Statement of Purpose, I believe we all know what that is. So my question is,for those denied TRV, do you need to write both SOP and LOE?

I wana assume u are an Online applicant, if u are, then there is no how you can track ur application on VFS site. Login to ur CIC account and monitor ur application from there. Tracking is meant for applicants with paper route that have not linked their application online. Peace

I received mine yesterday. .. the reason for denial in my GCMS note.
they explained why they came in conclusion of the reason for refusal

Check up the word "Deceive" again!

It is you application, it is either your approval or your Rejection.
It is your GCMNOTES...
It is your happiness or headache.

How have i deceived anyone?

I was only pointing out the Viral comment that The white Paper and the GCMnotes is the same thing,.... The gap long pass river Niger.

SOP and LOE are they not suppose to be same?

I only wrote SOP and LOE cos I noticed everyone uses both on here. To the best of my knowledge, CIC only requires LOE.

When I did mine, I only submitted LOE which detailed (1) why I chose the course and the school and linking it to why it was beneficial to me and my country / family business (2) what was expected of me as a student. (3) stated how I would survive in Canada
Simply put, my LOE was a combination of LOE and SOP.

However, if someone had been delayed, they can attach both SOP and LOE written separately. The SOP will clearly state why they chose the course, it’s benefits, the school, why Canada and so forth and then the LOE will specifically address the concerns raised by the VO in their last application.

I dont think there is any crime in submitting extra documents.

P.S most documents we all attach are extra and not demanded for by CIC but to be on the safe side we just add them.

Before you get admission, you must have submitted your SOP.

I couldn't agree more. Very valid point bro. The GCMS file note is the officer's report on the conclusion of the application and actually not meant to be written as to the applicant. It is for their records and hence will be well detailed than the letter of refusal given to the applicant. Thankfully, applicants can access the GCMS note through the access of information act which eventually would help one prepare better and tackle reason(s) for a previous refusal.

The generic letter of refusal is vague and would not give the full underlying reasons for a refusal.

From an experience here:

Applicant was refused for 1.purpose of visit 2. Travel history 3.All reasons for insufficient funds.

GCMS note: PA had travel to Canada once for visit and overstayed by a single day( reason for purpose of visit and travel history), Source of funds not provided(reason for insufficient funds). The officer doubted the genuineness of funds available.

In this case above, one would think it's the program of study or question why travel history is ticked when there is extensive travel or that funds were not sufficient and would proceed to add more money to the account. The applicant could surmise these without the note and reapply and the application would have resulted to yet another refusal. The GCMS note helped. Reason for overstaying was explained and evidence was included. Business contract execution documents were also included to show how funds were gotten. Reapplication was approved. These and many more are some of the reasons the GCMS note is encouraged.

Majority of delays always have "purpose of visit" in them. I am just wondering won't it be repetition because in the SOP one would still have to write his/her "purpose of visit" to Canada. Make the VO no go use vex delay person again for "stressing" them grin

Good morning. Abeg gurus help me. How can my friend study NURSING in Canada using her HND in MICROBIOLOGY. I have searched but am not getting any tangible answer. Please help
.

I don't think the HND will be needed because, if you friend is already a registered nurse In his/her own country then he can use it and apply for either bachelor's degree in nursing or specialities In nursing In Canada so I think his only chances might be using his waec certificate to apply to colleges or universities that offer nursing, then studying it from the very beginning. because they won't accept HND from another field of study except nursing

LOE would do to avoid repetition. Because what you want to explain is what you wrote before in the SOP.

Your points are valid boss. I think the applicant should submit just the LOE capturing everything because CIC listed it as documents to be submitted. In addition, the applicant can then decide to submit the SOP they used in getting the admission in the first place. It is a matter of choice.

Truth is, there is just no way one would write an LOE and not have some of what is already written in the SOP repeated. For me, I see LOE as the more detailed form of SOP.

Happy birthday bro.
Sorry to bother you but I'm about to create and submit my app for the past few days but can't really get around the registration or sign up button just as described on the first page of the thread.

Secondly, do I need to compress all the documents in one single file? I mean both SOP, sponsorship letter, affidavit, SOA, birthday cert and all documents I scanned.

Thanks.

Thank you boss for the wishes.

Simply create a GC key account username and password and continue an application to come to Canada. You will be promoted to create security questions and answers, which will take you to the online questionnaire. The process is simple and straight forward. Once you're done with this you will be redirected to a section where you will be required to upload all documents in their various sections.

You should see a typical of the below on your online dashboard when you begin the process.

Application for study permit made outside of Canada (IMM1294) (required) - Complete, save and Upload the study permit form.

Passport (required) - Upload your international passport.

Letter of Acceptance (required) - Upload your letter of acceptance from the school.

Proof of means of financial support - Upload your Sponsorship letter, Affidavit of support, bank statements, payslips, sponsor's source of income (like- employment letters, introduction letters from employer, promotions letter etc.) or bussines documents (CAC certificates, tax clearance certificate, article of association and memorandum etc..) Also, include your already paid tuition receipt in this section (if any).

Digital Photo (required) - Upload your Passport Photograph. The passport size should be between 60KB to 240KB and the dimension should be 420X540.

Family Information (IMM5645) (required) - Complete, save and Upload the family form.

Schedule 1- Application for a temporary Resident Visa made outside Canada (IMM5257) (required) - Complete and Upload the form.

Client Information (required) - Upload your SOP/LOE, degree certificates, transcripts, birth certificates, recommendation letters from past and present employers, NYSC discharge papers, your work ID, your employment letters, resume etc... (every supporting documents should be uploaded in this section).

I hope you find the above information useful. Feel free to ask questions.

All the best in your application.

Thank you for a detailed explanation and a good manner of approach. But sincerely, I still feel your whole explanation still equate GCMS Note is a detailed version of White refusal paper because the applicant got to know the reason why both Purpose of Visa and Travel History were ticked. And I feel it's here that almost everyone has concluded that most if not all Purpose of Visit refusal is relating to only Program of Study.

At the end, we will still say that GCMS Note and White paper both highlight the same reason(s) for refusal ONLY that GCMS Note is more detailed in terms of explanation has to how the reasons were derived. Unlike what @Vibrant99 was saying that there can be different reasons stated which is totally wrong.

All in all, if refused please get your GCMS Note. Goodluck to us all.
