As an Uber driver, do you park at a spot while waiting to be connected (linked) to a rider OR you have to keep driving from one place to another?

Hahaha, I have seen worse messages, just know it that in this line of business shit like this must happen. I always let it go and move on. Had similar experience two weeks back, the idiot texted and it says she will report me to Uber and I will be penalized, I smiled and told her to go ahead. They just want to get you into trouble either by making you stop at an unauthorized place or follow one way. Most of the requests I got yesterday were wrongly done as pickup locations were all totally different from their actual location. Worst of it all is that they will never keep calm, listen and learn how to do it.
slamstanlee:
The worst of them all today. (Uber)
I dropped some1 at house of assembly, den got another request from same point.
Called rider and she said she isnt in house of assembly,
I should come to d secretariat. Block 1.
I got there. At the parking lot.
Her pick up still shows house of assembly.

I waited like 12mins, no show, if i cancel i wont get paid, she called after 15mins+, that i should come to some other parking lot.
When i tried to, the security men said i was going the wrong way...at the same time she was calling and shouting "where are u"
I got frustrated and confused and had to cancel d trip and find my way out....

The next thing she sent these 2 sms
I just acted i didn't see them. But the thing dey vex me like dis
Whats ur thought guys?

Go to Lekki. What are you doing in V.I by this time except you want to finish yourself with short short trips with multiple stops that will profit nothing. V.I request is in the evening. If you wish not to leave v.i then change location to Adeola Odeku,
Adetokunbo Ademola

These are red flags.
Furthermore V6 engines are not suitable for this business, look for cars with 4plugs. Also get a good mechanic to help inspect Naija used cars.

Cheers.

undecided just wondering if could register uber with my wheelbarrow, so as to know maybe i should take it along with me when i'm coming to lagos for hustle.
And what are the probabilities that i won't face any form of discrimination from riders and fellow drivers?

Sadly for me, wheelbarrows in general doesn't meet the above requirements.

That means i have no other choice but to buy a small tokunbo toyota car for uber anyway.

sadly for me, things are very tough and hard at the moment but i surely believe Allah is gonna provide as he has alwayed does.
And when He finalies credit my account, I'll let you know so that you can assist me with the procurement processes of the said vechicle.

peace!

I parked my car jejely along Ligali Ayorinde V.I patiently waiting for the next request to come in on uber around 10pm, then two young guys in their 30s approached me and engaged me in an unnecessary conversation, I wasn't interested in them but they were just talking and talking they even show me their uber and taxify app telling me that they have made a lot of money from uber and taxify that there is a way to trick uber and taxify app for riders to pay more money than usual blablabla and so on. The conversation did not end after 30mins one of them was even trying to tap my shoulder when talking to me from outside bcus my class was wind up almost to the tip. Holy Ghost spoke to me that I should move quickly from that location that those two guys are robbers trying to find a perfect moment to strike
That was how God saved me
I want to advice everyone to learn from my story always be careful when you speak with faces not familiar to you
An uber driver was killed in my area and his car snatched from him but thank God for the car tracker inside the car, the robbers were caught the next day

6am - 10pm is d safest time for this job. Once e don pass this time, be vigilant and at alert with every trip request that you accept. Because that is when men of the under world operate. Me I start 5am or 6am and close by 10pm to stay safe.

If I hear. Pls let him not just park at any suitable place he sees o, LG taskforce and police now patrol most roads in Lagos looking for scape goats to tow their cars. If u wanna park and wait for request enter the streets and make sure ur doors are on central lock especially when you are in Lagos mainland. And never you park close to yellow taxi park or unpainted taxi park cos their all LG taskforce and police informants. The hustle is real now.

Today punch news website stated that an Uber driver/partner was rescued from an armed robber by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos state Police command on routine patrol along Lekki-Epe Expressway by 3AM.This Is an eye opener and a lesson to learn from.
