Hello House, I want to send my passport through courier (Prolly through DHL). How can I let the High commission to know where to drop off my passport if they stamp the visa on it? Secondly is there any fee to pay for the embassy to courier the passport to my address. Thanks.

Please for those who have traveled and received their study permit, may I know what you presented as proof of funds? Should this be a new bank statement or cash?

Aside, introduction letter, passport, proof of funds, what other documents can one keep handy?

From what I saw on my correspondence letter, I think this stated on the study permit issued at point of entry. Co op work permit should also have been stated in your application, with an uploaded document showing it as a requirement.

You will not need to collect an official work permit (hard copy like your study permit) to work 20hrs/week as a student. Just go to the nearest Service Canada Centre to you and ask to get your SIN number. Go with your international passport and Student permit. As a student with a SIN number, you're allowed to work only those number of hours. Please do not exceed working hours ever. I know better now. Except you mean a type of work permit separate from that which is associated with a study permit.

Not just someone, a foreign national who is a student must work only part time hours (20hrs/week). A person with this status is expected to face their studies, which they must have described as their primary priority in their study visa application. You can only work full time hours ( 40hrs/week) during holidays ( Christmas, Easter, etc.) and when the school is not in study session.

I am interested in this application cos I am also going to Fanshawe (travelling in December).

Your application is ok, I think you will just need to work on your LOE. Make sure your LOE links the direct befit of your course to your mums business. I would say redraft your LOE and submit next week.

I noticed you did not state you submitted your own SOA. Was the maintenance funds in your mums account or your own account?

Did you attach your receipt of fees paid? Why PGD? Was it 2:2 you had in your Bsc?

Nice job. But to the bolded, please take note, you can only work 20hours as a graduate student and even UG. Except you didn't register for any courses which is practically applicable to UG during spring and summer, but for Graduate students you Register throughout the year so therefore you can only 20hrs. But if you get a Job in the school, you can work unlimited hours and sometimes schools like U of S, U of Manitoba, they restrict students working in the school to 8hours per day. Goodluck

@Henricson,

I did my Biometrics in Abuja VAC. If I'm to send my passport there, does it mean I will not include any service charge? What if also I'm to pick up the passport through an appointed representative what happens then.. Please if you can throw just a little more light on the process, because just like everything Canada there processes seem cumbersome.

OR,

Maybe just include the link of the article you cited above so that I can read what's written there.

The maintenance funds is in my mums account.
I’m going for a pgd because i’m changing my course of study from what I did in B.SC. B.sc was in Economics and I want to do finance. I had 2:1 in B.SC

What do you mean by staying in the UK? Are you not on visit visa? Are you applying for PG or UG?

If you can answer those questions above, I will be able to give further comments.

No one can guarantee 100 percent that you will get a visa but if you can read through all what the gurus have said on this forum, Chances are very high you will get it. I recommend reading part 14, pages 1-20. Everything you need are on those pages. If you have any questions, ask on here and someone will help out.

Oh you are changing course... I see. Then I think your LOE should adresss this properly. Also, With a 2:1, it is expected you would go for masters. So you need to clearly explain why you are going for a PGD even though you have good result that qualifies you for masters.

I had a 2:1 and got a visa for PGC logistics and supply chain management same Fanshawe College. So it is very possible to get a PGD or PGC visa provided you give good reasons for doing that.

Can I suggest you write a good LOE to explain clearly why you are changing course. Can you also try and link the benefits of this new course to your mothers business and that you will be coming back to manage the business?

Please don’t let your LOE be too long.

Quick question, your mums account, was it her personal account she submitted or company’s account?

Company’s account

ok lets do it this way, can she transfer the money to your own account or she tells the bank to write a letter indicating she is the only signatory to that account. I normally don't recommend people using company's account although some have used it in getting their visa's.

when I did mine, My mum transferred from her company's account to my own personal account.
