Hi everyone, good to be here. Been following this thread for quite a while now and at the verge of deciding whether to go the Oz or Canny way. I studied Agricultural Economics and Extension Services in the University (BTech, 5 years) and have 5 years work experience as an Agribusiness Desk Officer in a Commercial Bank. Do I stand a chance of getting a positive skill assessment from VETASSESS as an Agricultural Consultant without a reduction in years of work experience so as to earn 10 points? I'd also appreciate if anybody, with experience or who has gotten a positive skill assessment with VETASSESS as Agricultural Consultant, can assist in reviewing my JDs or give some heads up in this regard. Many thanks. |

Noreal: Individuals will have to determine the occupation to nominate by him/herself. Occupation to nominate depends on other factors aside course of study largely being what the person is currently doing. The experience the person has is as important as the course s/he studied. It will be difficult for anybody to 'prescribe' an occupation without knowing what your friend does. That being said, your friend can help himself by going through the occupation list to identify any that is related or closely related to what he currently does. Going by his course of study, chemist would have been the best option but it is not sponsored by any state neither is it on the 189 list. |

Please urgent help guys. I'm doing an EA assessment and the assessor sent me this message. Please provide the following: 1. A copy of the Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate Card along with the screenshot of the web-page to verify the details on the card The situation is that I resigned my job in 2013 and left Nigeria that same year. My company was a one-man company and we were paid in cash then. Please how can I respond to this. Also the assessor included: Please note that ALL shortcomings as highlighted above have to be addressed and the additional information request will expire at 7:00 am Canberra time on the due date indicated. The application will not be returned again with further requests. Please it's urgent. Bellong. Sproxy, I've received your mail. Thanks |

GreenMavro: Hi everyone. I am new here. Only joined recently. And I have read up lots of information here and I must confess, it has been really helpful. I commend you all for your efforts and creating this thread. The info here is rich. Thanks to you all. I'd like to ask concerning the work experience/skilled employment. Requirement states that one should have skilled employment in the last 10 years in your nominated skilled occupation before invitation to apply. So my question is, should the skilled employment to be claimed be related to one's field of study/line of profession? I have not had much work experience. I have been studying for a while now. I have just 1year NYSC teaching experience and this is definitely not related my field of study. I have also been thinking along the lines of not declaring work experience since I won't be getting any points for it cos it's just 1 year. Is that even possible? Would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks. |

vickengbanz: Not claiming any experience may be possible depending on the occupational nominated. Most times, only engineering occupations will fly |
