typical black man using education as a political tool....the same fate befell Nigeria after making education free and standard was difficult to maintain there by leading to rusticated infrastructure and decay synopsis until citizens got aquinted with the mentality that government should run education free of charge instead government should create institutions that checks and balance the system for economic and industrial growth in the country. African leaders with their myopic thinking. 1 Like |

Africans are the funniest people. They go all out to raise funds to attend universities abroad, but the same people rejoice when their visionless leaders declare free education in their sub-standard universities at home. Keep celebrating mediocrity Africa. 1 Like |

APC member will see this as bad a news. They will give stupid reasons like: Their universities are the worst in the world, how will they finance it etc. But Nigeria is rich enough to grant free education to all its citizen instead few people are sitting on the nations wealth. If you don’t vote out that Fulani herdsman, hunger will kill all of una |

As Nigeria is trying to increase tuition fee, Liberia is doing the exact opposite. That's why we need youths at the helm of affairs in this country. |

Anigreat:Sorry sir but Africa isn't getting anywhere with this mentality. If tuition becomes free and govt pays people tend not to value the education acquired and that is the case with Nigeria currently. G-boys, runs-girls, ritualists and many more are going to school for social status alone because it is free. 1 Like |

There is no hope for Nigeria if the Nigerian youths are applauding this mediocre pronouncement by George Yeah. The Universities in Liberia are nothing to write home about. Liberia need hands-on training of artisans to rejuvenate the grounded economy and not this yeye free university education that will only produce worthless paper certificates. George Weah should focus on building effective technical schools or colleges to give people practical trainings and not encouraging every tom, dick and harry to go to the university in the name of free education |

Ventura1:That's why standard of education and student welfare in Nigerian public universities are very poor. Money answers allthings. Schools need money to update library, laboratories, carry out some projects etc. No tuition fee also lead to unseriousness among students. The higher the tuition, the higher the no. of academic resources and the higher the quality of education. For example: Last semester, I did a course called "GIS" which is purely practical. But everything we did on that course was theoretical; because my dept. didn't have enough funds to purchase GIS equipments. If you give me a GIS software, I will not be able to operate it despite the fact that I did the course in school. Go google the tuition fee of top universities in the world. African leaders are just so visionless! 3 Likes |
