Pope sniff.... The cigar odour sniffing it's way into his nose..... "Don't give me that crap, i know you have her..... The senator's wife found out Manny was messing around with her husband... She ask me to kill Manny... I turned her down... You were there when it happened.... You went back and took the deal... Didn't you....?

Jack gave him a hard look.. Then he drag his almost fallen trouser back to his waist..... "You are saying nonsense.... I never took that deal....

"Don't lie to me Jack..... "Pope scurred.. Exasperation in his voice..... "I brought you into this game... I know exactly when a plan is been compromised.... You knew Manny was coming in that road that day.. That's why you weren't there for the operation... you went ahead of us and you took her...... Just accept the damn fact and stop lying.... "

"Fine.... "Jack boom out.... Anger sparkling in his eyes.. Licking through him.... He squeaked.... "You are right.. I went ahead of you so i can get her myself.... "

"So you admitting you took the deal....?

"Ten million naira in cash was a big money to turn down.... Yes i took the deal and it would have been done and dusted if only Manny had showed up on that road..... "

Pope scoffs.... "You creating stories now..... "A sudden change of expression etched on his face.. Bringing out his deadly look.... "Where the hell is Manny... Have you killed her.....?

Jack gritted..... His eyes fixated on him... He rub his nose.... "Believe what you want.. Manny never showed up on that road.... Someone else must have taken her..... "

"You are lying to me Pope and be rest assured i will find out.....

"Why would i be lying to you.....?, you think i took Manny and i killed her... Then i buried her so no one will find out.....

"Now that you've mentioned it... That can be possible........ So i ask again... What have you done to manny.....?

Jack scoffs then he drew closer to him.. Their eyes glaring at each other..... Their air wapping off between them.... "I don't have Manny..... "Jack said.... In a deep baritone voice.....

He withdrew his head... Threw one last hard look at him... Then he left him there... He opened the door and slammed it with furious hands......

Pope insutilate... Jack words resounding in his head.... He suck his teeth.. Then he left..... Wondering who has the bitch if it isn't Jack.........

It wasn't long before Jacob and Jasmine arrived at the chief's company....
For a moment they just stood in front of the gate....the big billboard saying Mbogos zincs.....

The place was big... Well furnished.... Well blazed....

"Aren't you going in.......? Jacob ask with his hands on his pocket..... "Or are we just going to stand here and look at the building..."

Jasmine threw him a glance.....his chin glooming with a faint smile..... She inhale.... Then she rearranged her dress... Dragging her gown down...... "How do i look....?

He widen his eyes as he scan them at her.... She was not pretty... But she had a face that look innocent......a mark on her forehead.... He wonder what could have possibly given her that mark.. Perhaps an accident...... His eyes drool on the red gown she was wearing..... It stop above her knees.... Her sandals with semi fat heels......... "You look stunning...... "He said after a second of accessing her....

She made a faint smile that quickly rushed it's way back to frown...... She insutilate again sucking in all the air she can get hoping this wasn't a mistake she was making....... "Shall we.... ?she ask putting her purse in her armpit.....

"Of course..... "He replied with a huff...

They both strolled together... Jacob's eyes glooming everywhere at the building.... The zincs scrambled everywhere will probably tell anyone they deal on zincs... Different types..... If the chief owns this place he must be extremely rich......

He followed as Jasmine walked up to the secretary...... Some boys sitting on a long chair in a corner......
Jacob quickly stop leaving her to continue with the rest of it....

With a frown that turned into a fake smile when she got to the secretary's desk...... "Hi..... "She said... Her lips quivering....

"You are welcome... "

Jasmine exhales..... "You nor remenber me......?

The secretary look at her.... Of course she remenbers her but she doesn't want to give her the dignity of answering yes.... So she blared out a big fat lie..... "No.... I don't.. Am sorry"

Jasmine gritted wondering how she could forget her face so soon..... "Emmm.. Mm.... Chief dey around.....?

"Any appointments..... "She replied fixing her eyes on the computer in front of her......

Jasmine shudder.. A sudden fear she know she shouldn't be feeling lick through her..... "No o... I nor get appointment oo... I wan just see amm.. E dey very important.... ..."She said with clenched teeth... Waiting patiently for her reply.... When she gave none.. She huff and continue..... "I fit go inside.... ?

The secretary threw her a glance..... "Chief is in a meeting... You can't go in.... "She said callously..... Irritation in her tone...

"Oh....! Jasmine exclaimed with faint breathe....... "So na wen chief go finish with the meeting because wetin i wan discuss with amm.... E dey very important..... "

The secretary rolled her eyes at her....... "Am sorry i don't know when the chief will be through with his meeting so please madam if you intend on waiting... You can join the queue...... "She said pointing at the people sitting there....

Jasmine look to where she was pointing..... Then she turn to face her again..... "Bae... You nor fit do some magomago mak me be the first to see chief..... "

"I can't do that.....? She retorted... Her voice booming out.. Almost everyone in the office heard it...... She insutilate..... Vexed at her own outburst..... "I can't do that.... "She said more calmly.... "Please madam if you want to wait... I suggest you join the line..... "

They walked outside.. Away from earshot......

"We don't know that for sure....... I mean we don't know if Manny was really blackmailing him... Calling him is the only way you can find out....

"What if Chief com set me up....?she cut in...

She swallowed hard then placed her purse on her armpit....."Okay.. Mak i explain... I call chief.. He com pretend say manny nor blackmail amm wen manny blackmail amm.... We come fix hotel.. I dress up.. Wear my high heel go the room.... I reach there only for me to see grabbys... What if dey com grab me... Na wetin i go do......?

Jacob shrugged.... "Well we pray it never comes to that... Moreover you agreed to help despite knowing the risk.....

"Fine boy....... "She interjects..... "Me dey fear.... I still like my life o, i nor wan die ontop anybody matter...Lyelye"

"You are not going to die... So just place the call to him... Tell him you want to meet..... "

Jasmine grunts... Then she pick up her phone from her purse... She search for the chief's number.... She hesitated a bit.. Thinking of what will become the outcome of the call....... She took a deep breathe then she called the number.....

Heartrenting she waited for him to answer.... To her surprise he answered.......

"My rosey baby..... "The chief's crocked voice muttered from the phone....

Jasmine exhales.. Calming her nerves...... "Chief chief.... "She quickly followed up.....

They continue talking until the call ended......
She took a deep breathe when the call finally ended.....

"It seems our secretary was lying.... The chief is in no meeting...... "Jacob said as she drop the phone..... "So where did he say he will be meeting you.....?

"At Cruzzers hotel...... "She said with clenched teeth....

"Tonight...... "

Infuriated Mary walked out of the police station....she was right when she told Sharon the police was the last place to go.... Today the DPO wasn't here to irritate her... The policemen at the counter did a good job at that....

She knew it will be a waste of time coming to the station.. And it really was a waste of time... They don't believe Manny is missing.. They don't believe the message whoever the bastard is sent... They keep asking her stupid questions... She got infuriated at the least of it...

With anger curling through her.. Sinking deep into her.. She move to the road.. Waiting for a taxi....

Just then a power motorcycle stopped in front of her.....a guy wearing a helmet was on the bike....

Mary watched as he pulled the helmet off.. He was dark in complexion...his face looked rugged... Mary wonder what he wants....

"You must be Mary...... "

His baritone voice sent shivers down his spines.... What shocked her most was how he knew her name...... "Who are you.....? She quickly ask.. Her mouth quivering at the question.....

"You don't need to know who i am.... Rather you should listen to what i have to say.... I have a message for you concerning your missing friend...... "

Mary shivered......"Do you have Manny? She yelled...

"Figure it out....... "The guy said put on the helmet.. Then he quickly start the motorcycle....
