Did she have to mention names? Couldn't she have made her point without that?.

Let's be civil here please. Make your point in a respectful manner.

I don't know how you read it. There's nothing disrespectful

Mickael2:

But she mentioned her name and theSuperNerd and we all know they are both serious fanboys so expect Iheanacho to win everything if both are in the committee. So she was just pointing out two names who will hardly include Iheanacho and two names who will definitely include Iheanacho to point out that a 3-man committee isn't going to be perfect. She could have mentioned any Goldfish or mickael2 or edi247(the supposed leaders of the hate club) but she mentioned the more frequent contributors which is psychologically explained as recency bias, I tire for your attacks oh.

Me I would have voted for Mujtahida, but in his absence, definitely Joebie

**So many mentions** But....

Hahahahahahahahaha.... Chief Icon4s... Abeg ehn... Biko take note of this post... I nominate it for Fun post of the year and post of the year ahead of December as I dont know if I go dey sef for the in-house NL Sports awards for posters here... Hahahahaa. This one got me laughing hard... Mickael is like my antagonist here but we agree on some things very funnily... Looolll....

He is right... Safarigirl and I will make sure Iheanacho wins it all.... ahhh... we go rig the elections and alter the info to ensure his straight A's conquests..... Infact let me break this down...

Best young player of the year (U-17): Kelechi Iheanacho gets my vote ahead of Olakunle Olusegun and Samson Tijani and even Akiwunmi Amoo. I will even show you he is 17... grin

Best young player of the year (U-20): Kelechi Iheanacho again naa ahead of even Nazifi Yahaya and Ikouwem Udoh... Haba... He is too much.. since he is U-17 so why not? wink

Best senior player of the year/Naija player of the year (Super Eagles): Even with no goal in 2018 in the GWG and an average WC showing, Kelechi Iheanacho gets my vote ahead of Musa, Iwobi and Ighalo... Habamana... It is not easy.

Best Striker (Forward) of the year (Super Eagles): Iheanacho again ... No questions.

Best Midfielder of the year (Super Eagles): You guessed it again... Iheanacho!!!

Best Defender of the year (Super Eagles): Kelechi Iheanacho... Have you seen him defend? He does it even better than Leon and Troost.. even Omeruo got nothing on him... grin

Best Goalie of the year (Super Eagles): Who is Uzoho and Afelokhai?? Throway commot... It is Iheanacho again!!!

Best Impact Sub of The year (Super Eagles): Iheanacho... Ahn ahn... E never do?

Best new entrant into the team (year in review): Kelechi Iheanacho till he retires sef... because every year he is a new entrant... grin

Most improved player of the year: Iheanacho again... Need I say more?

Top scorer of the year (Super Eagles): Even with no goals in 2018... I will definitely give it to Iheanacho... Haba!!! That worldie freekick against Argentina last year and that thunderbolt against Tanzania are worth 20 goals each and have been deposited to cover for the next five years even if he doesn't score anymore in that period... What a lad... So who wins it even with Iggy on 6 goals this year? Iheanacho again!!!

Am I done? Any awards left? Nacho must win all oooo... Wait I dey come...

Ehen.... Best player to watch out for in 2019 (Next rated): Iheanacho again!!! Even tho he is 22 and have been playing for the past 3 years professionally... grin

Conclusion: I know some of you will get the joke... Including Mickael whom I quoted... Lol but for the sake of those who won't get it... Let me just be clear...

"I may be an analyst who focuses more on the positives when it comes to Nacho and will defend his talents anywhere... But I am no biased fella. I give honor to whom it is due. For this year alone, looking at all the categories I just reeled out added to the ones Chief Icon4s have mentioned... I can easily tell you right now that Kelechi Promise Iheanacho does not deserve a mention in any category for this year. You don't need to be a hater to know the obvious... And I am no pro-Iheanacho... I am "pro-precocious Naija talents" which covers all of them from Iheanacho to Iwobi to Chukwueze to Moses Simon to Billing to Eze to Ndidi and more... Both home and abroad, naija-born or foreign-born... One passport, two passport or ten-passports... I am for the best and the brightest of Naija talents and upcoming talents at any level but what I don't stand for is running down some players especially those of indigenous extraction to promote some foreign borns... And I won't stand for the vice versa also. But it seems the former is what happens here 100% of the time which is why you see me speak up for Iheanacho or Osimhen or even Isaac Success or Awoniyi or Kelechi Nwakali and more....."

I am a good judge of talent. I was right about Mikel Obi even when Nigerians came for him for his lack of commitment bla bla bla... I knew he will go on to become a legend... I was right about sticking with Musa even when he was the most insulted Nigerian player for some years. I am not always wrong when I identify with a potential top GWG player... Many of them are already proving me right like Osimhen and Success (even when Success was involved in such great mess with call girls... I still believed) but a few more still need to come into their own and show I am not wrong to believe in them.

Since 2015, when I walked into NL Sports from the defunct SL10.ng I came with one message... "To sound out the rise of Nigeria's next possible Golden Generation after the first Golden Generation of 1992-1996." That generation ended in the early 2000s to be precise but I refer to her peak years in 94 and 96.

So this is why I am passionate about our young lads both of foreign or Naija extraction that have the true potentials to make our Super Eagles world beaters and close to being world class some day.

So this is me... This is my true picture... It is just that most of you love to have a go at Iheanacho as if your lives depend on it making me come in to correct some of the misleading notions about the kid and his talents. So will Iheanacho stand a chance in any category this year? Let me be the first to sound this out... No way. He should not even be nominated. If it was 2016 or 2017, then yes... But not in 2018 despite his overall goals contribution to the NT since his debut... And even stats wise this year, Nacho has only two Assists and NO GOAL so far in all the games he has played this year so why should he be considered for any category? Lol... This may be just an NL thing but I think doing it right even in the little things show one can do it right possibly in the bigger things... So no big deal... Adios.

So this is my conclusion? Wow.... It is quite long. Well, no apologies all the same... I am who I am and I will never change... I am mr.epistle... so if you cannot read it, then jump it...but I gotta say what I gotta say for clarity sake aiit.. and say it all too... Merci beaucoup....

Meanwhile I nominate Chief Icon4s for the committee... Lol... If it were possible, My next vote would surprisingly be Mickael2 even before Tbaba and others... why? Well, he is an opinion's opposite... and likes to play devil's advocate sometimes even more than My man Marvellous BascoVanVeli used to do back then... Lol... He will attack an opinion differently from how others may attack it... I like that kind of scrutiny for a list like that about players awards or players performances. I read through comments in the aftermath of the Libya games and found that only he and I shared similar strong thoughts on Iwobi's orchestrating abilities in midfield... I was just nodding and laughing. My antagonist agrees with me? Cool... And sadly to disappoint most but I also agree with him on the leanness of our Midfield options against South Africa later this month and thus our chances. And he is right to be concerned because Iwobi vs South Africa will be his biggest test as an AM in the GWG so far..... I only pray Iwobi steps up and deliver the goods cos I believe he can even though I still feel he still has to learn the art of dictating a game's tempo like Mikel does. All in all, I wish us well.

Greetings and Happy New month of November to everyone... Cheers...

The excitement that greeted the invitation of FC Ifeanyi Ubah defender Olamilekan Adeleye to the Super Eagles as a player from the Nigeria Profesional Football League has been simmered down following confirmation that he is no longer a player of FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

Adeleye’s contract with the Nigerian side has expired and he is now a free player‎ with reports linking the defender who impressed for the B team of Nigeria at the WAFU Championship with a move to Belgium.

Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that he refused to sign an extension to his deal with the Nnewi based side as he currently among the players yet to be paid their outstanding salaries from last season.

He is reportedly owed as much as eight months of unpaid salaries from last season and that has further made him to be hell bent on quitting FCIU for a new adventure possibly in Europe.

Named as one of the home based defenders in the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the games against South Africa and Uganda, he could be a foreign based player immediately after the games later this month.

Na wa o. Despite your tight schedule you still had time to type this long epistle. smiley

Anyways, I understand. But still find a little time, if you can, to at least say hello and chip in one or two things.

I would sincerely hope and wish you will be available if u emerge as one of the committee members.

Please take your malicious and hateful spirit away from us.

Failing the MRI screening does not mean cheating. Sometimes the player can be within the range and fail. Maduabuchi Obinwa was 16 but still failed. That does not mean he cheated.

That story is not a good example.

His mother challenged the results and the NFF refused to submit the results for examination. She also said it seems they wanted appeasement.

She paid 100k for the MRI scan to the NFF, is that normal practice for a boy that is born in the USA. Where we know there is 100% automatic birth data capture that is totally corroborated by internal government agencies.

That example of Maduabuchi Obinwa is fraught with multiple issues.

Finally, were you deh since, you deh contest election for Senate ❓ Missed your in depth point of view.

Stop this, Obinwa is what they call an exception to the rule.
Was Ndidi 16? Are you saying he didn't know his age? I repeat if you are 2 days above the age limit and you turn out you are a cheat. Wrong is wrong

I am saying you can be within the age bracket and fail the test. So you are wrong calling someone a cheat without being concrete in what you are saying. Keep in mind Ndidi was training with a former Super Eagles player, Ndukka Ogbade as a small boy. He failed the test. Leave it at that.

Finito.

It is a mandatory test. Whether born in Kafanchan or Kuwait. I heard of Nwankwo Kanu paying for the screening of a lot of boys who did not have it. The cry should be why kids should be put through the emotional journey of paying for a test they can fail while serving the country. The test should be subsidised.

A lot of these European leagues are overrated.

If the NPFL can get its acts right in terms of stadium facilities, Sponsorship deals, TV rights and organization and if the clubs can also take care of their players welfare the Nigerian league can return to its glory days.

It is disheartening for an NPFL top scorer to leave a footballing country like Nigeria and travel to play football in Slovenia, Belarus or Azerbaijan. And some in Turkish second and third divisions.

Agreed without reservation.

Some have left NPFL to play in Vietnam, Iran and even for goodness sake Sudan.

All eyes are on European football and big money nobody is having a sincere strategic vision to develop our football.

But then the people are also to blame including me. All we watch in Nigeria is EPL we have probably more Chelsea fans here than any other country apart from England.

No viewing center will show local football.

NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL AWARDS!

A good and blessed Morning House.

We have all analyzed football here for a couple of years now. We have tasted the joys of victory and agonies of defeat from different competitions we have participated in. And each one we have come out better as we have always learnt one, two or more lessons.

Believe it or not we have here in the house some of the best followers and analysts of Nigerian football. Forget that we argue all the time, but these arguments generally have yielded fruits in certain areas and our national teams have gotten better for it.

DON'T WE THINK IT IS TIME WE STARTED ROLLING OUT AWARDS, IN VARIOUS CATEGORIES, TO WELL DESERVING NIGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM FOOTBALLERS?

Now this is just a suggestion.

If a larger part of the house agree, we go ahead and set up a players selection committee which will be saddled with the responsibly of:
1. Coming up with various award categories eg: Most improved player in 2018, best Nigerian goal in 2018, Most impressive new inclusion, Best young player (U20 and U17), Best SE Goal keeper 2018, Nigerian Player of the year, best Super Falcons player etc.
2. Nominating players for the various award categories selected above (Maximum of 3 for each category). Note that criteria for the selection of these players must be spelt out.
3. Collating and announcing of results after the votings.

How do we come up with who and who will make up the Players' Selection committee?
I would suggest a 3 Man (or woman smiley) Committee. The house will have to suggest monikers. Every member of this thread or even visitors would have to nominate one person he or she feels should be a member of this committee. Note that you cannot nominate your self and you cannot nominate more than 1 person. 3 monikers with the highest number of nominations will form the players selection committee.

If we agree, we can set 1 week period for which we can suggest names for the selection committee and the selection committee will have to start work immediately after the Nigeria vs Uganda friendly. So that the voting process will commence first week in December.

At the end of the exercise a thread will be created to publish the names of awardees and mods called upon to take to front page or we may even take it to the sports sections of major News Papers in Nigeria.

Note again that it is just a suggestion and open to more ideas and suggestions.

The simple thing to do for a start is if you agree you click "like" and if you do not agree you click ''share''.

Thank you everyone that has responded.

With 20likes and 0 shares it means we have a unanimous decision here, so no time to waste.

Next we go ahead and make nominations of Players Selection Committee members.

Please I crave the involvement of everyone in the house, including those on ghost mode.

Remember the three rules for nomination of Players Selection Committee members
1. You are to nominate one person
2. Do not nominate yourself
3. Do not nominate twice.

Ladies and Gentlemen the floor is open. smiley
