Companies will be careful employing females now. Maybe when we have only males employed this nonsense protest everywhere will stop. How can you have men and women working in the same place and you think things like this will not happen?? I believe men are sexually harassed daily but you won’t hear a thing. The weakest make the loudest noise though. Later they will come out and be saying nonsense about them being equal to men. Please tell me HOW??

That's the biggest mistake made Na. Men are the providers. Provide for your wife at home. But due to whatever nonsense, women said the money is not enough. They too must come out to work.

Google found cause to ask him to resign because they didn't want to deal with the blow back (exec having an affair is never good PR once the mistress wants to pursue it), and gave him a severance package to compensate him for his contributions.

Sergey Brin, Google's co-founder also has sexual misconduct allegations against him. He is the current President of Alphabet.

Stop typing about sh*t you know very little about.

What I do know tho' is that all of this often comes full circle, and often the most vocal of these absurd punishments are closet perpetrators. Hollywood and Silicon Valley are liberal, pro-Dem, and feminist. Turns out they are also perverts.

-Lord
You can never know what really happened except you hear from both sides and you didn't. And what's your point anyway, so let's not punish sexual harassment at all since every top exec is already a closet perpeteator.

WHY CAN'T LIBERAL PEOPLE MEET OUR NIGERIA MOPO ON THE EXRESSWAY?
WHY
WHY
WHY?

They wouldn't.

An Egyptian woman made a sexual misconduct allegation against a taxi driver. The government gave her a 2 year prison sentence for making the allegation. It didn't even trend on Twitter. No protest. Barely no one discussed it here on NL. But a man has an affair and they're carrying it on their head like gala.

Talk about priorities.

This is what happens when plenty of resources is allocated to a single man whether deservedly or not. The next thing the man starts thinking of is to shamefully sleep with all the WOMEN (FEMALES) in the COMMUNITY.

actually i don't blame some of these men, it is the women that willingly and wilfully throw themselves at or totally offer their bodies to the successful men for pleasure in return for some form of gratification.

If you are a successful guy especially physically handsome , women will chase even enter fire.
The men learn it due to bad home parenting. Many of these Westerners come from broken homes, divorced parents, no Church, no faith.
They have no moral compass.

I'm straddling the thin line on #metoo and feminism these days.

While men like you are among those protesting because of this issue, you are busy straddling lines.

Oh well, such is life.
No one is arguing sexual harassment is okay, what most of us who are clearly drifting to the right is saying, you guys are trying to use a tank to kill a mosquito.
I can see now what is irking you

Dude harassed a lady. Dude got sacked. That's not satisfactory. Now you guys want him not to get anything from all he's worked for?
Yet you guys are content with him not getting the pay he deserves after he's been punished for the wrongdoing.
Maybe, if those who go around sexually harassing, assaulting and raping people realise they would lose every single thing they have worked for (as you put it) because of their disgusting acts. It could act as a deterrent to them
Why is this such a bad thing to you?

Really how sadistic can you guys get?
Can it be any more sadistic than those who engage in sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape?

And that hotel room and MouthAction was consexual.

Anyways, I now see where the problem is coming from, Seems you don't believe the lady and you don't believe Google's investigations. Seems you feel an innocent man is being mistreated. You should have just made that clear from the beginning.
Google investigated and felt the need to tell him to resign. What's happening now is as a result of Google's actions, If you're so pissed take it up with Google and stop attacking these "you guys"

Maybe you guys stopped providing. I can't really pinpoint the era where women stayed at home and let the men provide tho or maybe not just in Nigeria. In my grandfather's days, the women followed the men to the farm and helped with clearing and planting. In my mother's days, women had businesses or office jobs same as in my day.

The punishment has to fit the crime. That's the entire premise of the criminal justice system.

This is equivalent to jungle justice. A person who steals maggi should not be burned to death. Same way a person who has a consensual affair should not have to lose his $90m severance package after he's been sacked. Getting sacked is a fitting punishment. Adultery is not a crime.

Can it be any more sadistic than those who engage in sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape?

I find it disturbing that you equate sexual harassment with rape. Andy did not rape anyone. He had a consensual affair. Do I have to use a megaphone to say it out loud to you?

A court convicts a person for stealing. Same court convicts a person for murder. Same court. Both are convictions. Both get to spend time in jail, but they are different. If you believe Google's investigations are thorough, why believe the punishment is not fitting?

Have bloody consistency. If Andy had committed a crime and Google's investigation found it to be a crime, they'd be legally obligated to report it to the authorities. And the lady in question would have gone to the authorities as well. That they didn't, shows it's not a crime. It was a light form of sexual misconduct, and Google asked him to resign than deal with the PR backlash of keeping an exec who had an affair when the lady in question definitely wanted to take it further.

And Andy said the affair was consensual. I believe him!

E don tey when this sex of a thing don dey cause trouble oh and he never tire sef. Sex wey be say na home he de wreck b4, don vex come go dey wreck offices now.

Kingsmeal:
Hundreds of Google employees walked out of their office buildings in protest of the company's handling of sexual harassment allegations against executives.

The Thursday morning protest took place at Google offices around the world. Employees in London, Tokyo, Singapore and Dublin walked out earlier Thursday to protest the tech giant’s reported handling of sexual misconduct allegations.

In some places, the protesting employees used megaphones to express their displeasure at the company's management while showing support for victims of sexual harassment. In others, they stayed inside, gathering in lobbies or conference rooms.

In Chicago, a crowd of more than 200 Google workers flooded out of the office and onto the sidewalk just after 11 a.m. Some carried coffee and chatted with colleagues, and others waved signs that read, "I will not sit idly by," "Not OK, Google" and "Time’s up, tech."

In Sunnyvale, California, hundreds of employees were seen walking out of their office building.
The backlash was prompted by an article in The New York Times last week that revealed that Google had paid millions of dollars in exit packages to male executives accused of harassment, while staying silent about the transgressions.

You do not know what severance packages are for.
You did not know why his severance package was that high until I told you.
You do not know standard business practice in tech.
You have no idea about the severity of the action in question.
You have no idea about Google's office romance rules.

Yet you are one of the loudest spitting obnoxious nonsense. That's why you're attorney and judge in the liberal public court of opinion, and real intelligent judges, juries, as well as the Supreme Court don't believe adultery is a crime. Much more an offense necessitating anyone not to receive a $90m severance pay.

You're a logical albatross. You can't even decipher a very limpid analogy. There's a reason why judges are law-abiding beacons of honesty, integrity, and moral standing. And all they do is give punishments that fit the crime according to the law.

Yet you have perverts, child molesters, and their enablers attempting to give a man a punishment that doesn't fit an offense. And you expect me to treat you like an intelligent person. Are you mentally ret*rded or what?

And what's worse is that the same you guys who refused to raise dust about a potential child molester and is still free are protesting about a man who had an affair and was sacked. Do I have to find a chimp to translate this to inaudible ape sounds for you to understand?

Sexual harassment is completely wrong.. However cases must be properly, transparently and fairly investigated cos sm women use such cases just to get back at men who probably never actually harassed them.

Sm of these white ladies can be manipulative and have their own hidden agenda in such situations.

Run along chimp.

If Google wanted to change anything, they'd have sacked Sergey Brin.

And Google already had an office romance policy where you can't ask anyone out if the person has said 'no' once. Nor can higher-ups date anyone below them without disclosing it. After disclosure, Google would move them to different departments.

These rules were made long before the NYT story.

The disclosure rule was the specific rule Andy Rubin fell afoul of, he didn't want to disclose the nature of the relationship since he was married.

Google will continue to pay severance packages and sign NDAs after offenses that aren't crimes. And nothing will happen, same way people still use Uber even though their execs have done many things liberals don't approve of.

Don't mind them. This is a classic 'crying wolf' situation. They are blurring the lines and very soon, people will start caring less.

How can you equate adultery to rape, when as at 2016, AshleyMadison (a married affairs site) had 46 million users.

Larry Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for sex crimes. I don't see anyone saying it was undeserved. Yet a guy who had a consensual affair who lost his job, about to lose his marriage, and lose custody of his kids is not enough punishment. He should also have lost his $90m severance package after making a billion-dollar invention.

Mandela had an affair. Let South Africa stop paying his family his entitlements. He shouldn't have been given a state burial. He is therefore no longer a beacon of hope and the best that the world has to offer.

People just make outlandish statements without thinking.

Still circling back to this consent issue.
The problem is that you think it is consensual and you choose to believe the man, others choose to believe Google's investigations and thereby believe the lady.

Andy did not rape anyone.
Rape regarding penis in vagina, not at all, Never said he did.

He had a consensual affair. Do I have to use a megaphone to say it out loud to you?

You weren't there. None of us were, but you keep insisting on Consensual and disregarding investigations as if they (andy and the lady) did it in your presence.

And you don't know exactly what happened that day either. Neither do the hundreds of workers protesting.
Neither do you,
In case you've forgotten.

It's Quite convenient for you to remember who was and wasn't there when the narrative isn't going as you want it to but you instantly forget who was and wasn't there when you're running around screaming "consensual!!!!!!!" every where.
Who was and wasn't there doesn't stop you from screaming "consensual!!!!" every where does it?

But you guys seem sure enough to not want him to get his $90m which is pittance compared to what he deserves.

Can you blame them if they Choose to believe an actual investigation over "he said, she said" ?
Like I said earlier, all that is happening now is Google's fault,
you interpreted Google's actions to mean they found him innocent but didn't want bad pr,
"you guys" are interpreting Google's actions to mean they found him guilty then covered it up and even gave him a severance package on top. (which is actually what happened, isn't it? )
So as I said earlier, leave "you guys" alone, face Google and tell them to clarify if you are so pissed.

A court convicts a person for stealing. Same court convicts a person for murder. Same court. Both are convictions. Both get to spend time in jail, but they are different. If you believe Google's investigations are thorough, why believe the punishment is not fitting?

So are you saying we've never had cases where people complain that the judgement/punishment handed out by a court in regards to a crime committed is too light a punishment to serve for the crime committed. .
They believe the punishment is not fitting and that's why they are complaining.

If Google felt it was fitting, I Wonder Why Google in response to this outrage rush to let their employees know that after 2016 anyone they fired for sexual harassment didn't receive an exit package

And Andy said the affair was consensual. I believe him!

Yeah you've already made this clear and which is why you are arguing against this.

Daeylar:

Still circling back to this consent issue.
The problem is that you think it is consensual and you choose to believe the man, others choose to believe Google's investigations and thereby believe the lady.

"Mr. Rubin built a robotics division within Google named Replicant. During a six-month span in 2013, he spent an estimated $90 million to buy eight robotics firms.

Around that time, Mr. Rubin was casually seeing another woman he knew from Android, according to two company executives briefed on the relationship. The two had started dating in 2012 when he was still leading the division, these people said.

By 2013, she had cooled on him and wanted to break things off but worried it would affect her career, said the people. That March, she agreed to meet him at a hotel, where she said he pressured her into MouthAction, they said."

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/25/technology/google-sexual-harassment-andy-rubin.html

The woman was having an affair with Andy. New York Times, the woman, and Google have not refuted this.

She was having an affair with the man. Andy didn't disclose this relationship according to company policy. Google found the claim credible because Andy should not have had the woman in a hotel room to begin with and dude was asked to resign.

So stop making Google investigations into this all-seeing eye that had a video camera in the hotel room. She could never prove that claim in court. For all we know, that could have been breakup sex. Or blackmail sex.

You guys have been dating for a year plus, she's wanted to end things, then the last sexual encounter they have turns out to be the only one he forced her to do.

Sorry, not buying this BS! That lady (I try not to use the word "b*tch" even though I'm sure his wife thinks she is) found the perfect plan to end the relationship without affecting her career. Which is why she'd never go public.

You weren't there. None of us were, but you keep insisting on Consensual and disregarding investigations as if they (andy and the lady) did it in your presence.

And the same Google did not find it damning enough not to pay him $90m.

Neither do you,
In case you've forgotten.

That's why I think Google did fine by terminating his contract for not following company policy (having an undisclosed relationship with a subordinate) and also giving him a $90m package which he deserved.

Right back at you.

Can you blame them if they Choose to believe an actual investigation over "he said, she said" ?

The actual investigation also relied on he said, she said. There was no video camera in the hotel room. Google found the claim credible as they had an existential rule that Andy flouted.

I don't need to ask them to clarify anything. They've done exactly what they should have. Dismiss him for flouting company policy and paying him a severance package which he deserved

They believe the punishment is not fitting and that's why they are complaining.

And I and Google are saying the punishment is fitting.

If Google felt it was fitting, I Wonder Why Google in response to this outrage rush to let their employees know that after 2016 anyone they fired for sexual harassment didn't receive an exit package.

None of those employees was an executive. Do you know what public relations is about?

Of course, they're going to highlight whatever looks good for camera. Google paid Rubin $90m. It was $2m per month for 4 years. So yes, in 2016 and 2017 they were still paying Rubin $2m per month, while they were firing dispensable staff without exit packages.

So much for they didn't find it fitting.

Rubin, the Father of Android, whose inventions bring in tens of billions annually is not equivalent to some canteen chef working in a campus eatery. That canteen chef if a sexual misconduct claim is made is not going to get a $90m severance package under the exact same circumstances as Rubin.

Are you telling me that if it was a case of monumental fraud, Google would have let the Executives go quietly?

What is wrong is wrong! The moment they were let go by Google they are no longer Google's responsibility. The victims should have been encouraged to press charges with Google issuing supportive statements.

This is not about gender o! It's about doing the right thing.

u don't understand

they are "allegations"
they are not proven some of them could be false , Google simply wanted to quietly end the issue by paying the executives to leave so as to avoid all sorts of drama

if they had real proof they could have gone to court , sexual harassment is a big deal that a person can sue for a lot of money

no this people aren't complaining about sexual harassment what they are really complaining about is that they executives were PAID millions

I can't help but applaud your intelligence. I'm quite busy to join the argument but you seem to have made most of my points. I love your argument.

Seems the world is going crazy....Crucify him, crucify him everywhere. Ladies should take it easy before all these craziness backfire.
It will. Very soon.

Giddyperson:

It's mainly one staff causing the issue. I think his name is Andy Rubin, the father on Android. They let him resign with a $90 million dollar payoff, and they did a farewell party for him and everything, though it all happened many years back but that's no way to dismiss someone for sexual harassment. The issue is coming up now because the Android guy is having a custody battle with his wife, needless to say she's gonna win it now cheesy

Also companies like Google are almost scared to sack these top tech guys cuz many of them are braniacs and driving innovation in those companies. When they finally dismiss them, they settle them well in return for a promise that they won't work for rival companies. So much Justice for the woman that's been sexually harassed. She is instead made to sign a non-disclosure.

And those of you saying it's women and their wahala, can't you see men in the picture taking part in the protest.

see this are allegations , what happened to innocent until proven guilty

and how do u know they are made to sign a non disclosure , and even if they are they are consenting adults
