Deeper Christian Life Ministry
MONDAY BIBLE STUDY (Special Study) 29/10/2018
TOPIC: CHRIST THE PERFECT PRIEST AND LOWLY LAMB.
TEXT: John 18:12-27
GHS: 233 (STAN UP, STAND UP FOR JESUS)
BIBLE READING: JOB 34,35,36
MINISTER: PASTOR W.F KUMUYI

"Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing." (John 18:20).

Jesus Christ coming under trial, and he had been betrayed by Judas Iscariot (Luke 3:2). He faces Annas and Caiaphas. They were both referred to as the priest. The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ settled the enmity between (Herod and Pilate) where we have many people who do not love Christ, some other people have selfish goals (i.e they used Christ advantageously to get their goal), some have hidden agenda, other people also have financial carnal discernment (Circular attainment). All these are sinful act, it is sacrilegious and unfair. Through it all, we see the submission, suffering of our Lord Jesus Christ. He submitted himself in a Holy and Mighty man. He show his meekness, mighty and might. The Christians must have the attitude of Jesus Christ. In doing this, we see Jesus Christ, he was Cam, Courageous, Cool and committed), lowliness, bold as a lion, peacefulness and conversion. Every believers are converted to be like Jesus Christ.

POINT (1)
THE PREVIOUS DECLARATION OF SACRILEGIOUS CANAL CAIAPHAS.
John 18:12-14; John 11:47-49; Romans 2:21; Hosea 6:7; Jeremiah 9:6;Matthew 26:3; Exodus 23:2; Psalms 34:16; Proverbs 2:13; Proverbs 24:8,9; Ecclesiastics 8:11-13; 1Peter 3:12-14; 2Corinthians 5:10.
Our lord Jesus Christ is meek and mighty, peaceful and powerful. Jesus Christ make a clear declaration in (John 11:47), the real challenge he want the people to saw "He gather the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? For this man doeth many miracles." Jesus Christ is not concerned about he circular things, and the worldly things
people in the world performed in verse 49 says "And one of them, named caiaphas, being the high priest, that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all." The death of Jesus Christ was to show them a great declaration. The word sacrilegious (Romans 2:21), telling us the attitude of this people and their character. They were sacrilegious in attitude and both in their character and those people are (Annas, Caiaphas, Herod and Pilate), the attitude and character of this people were deception. The action of the people that directed Jesus Christ was sinful, evil, and unjust. These were unbelief people (Matthew 26:3). There where no fearless in their questionings.
.
The attitude of Jesus towards the people who are determined to do evil, is because they were guilty of doing evil (Proverbs 2:13). The people who arrested Jesus and the delight in the forwardness of the wicked. It is only salvation and righteousness of heart that can make us to live a life that pleased God (Proverbs 24:8,9). The thought of foolishness and the canal is an abomination unto God (Ecclesiastics 8:11-13), Jesus is warning us that, God is watching our hearts (Micah 7;3). We see Annas, Caiaphas, Herod and Pilate, they were earnest in doing evil. Devil has commanded them to earnestly continue in doing evil (1Peter 3:12)...Jesus Christ is Persuading us to repent from sin.
.
POINT (2)
THE PAINFUL DENIALS OF A SELF CONFIDENCE CHRISTIAN.
John 18:15-18,25-27; John 18:2-8; 1Corinthians 10:11,12; Matthew 10:33; Lukeb12:4-8; Revelation 21:8,27; Revelation 22:12-15.
The life of Peter, who was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ who denied Jesus thrice. He was confidence in himself, that he said, he will not denied the Lord. And the Lord already said unto him WATCH AND PRAY! Jesus said, we should pray that God will delivered us from the way of evil and we should escape. He said with everything written in the old and new covenant are written for our admonition so that NO ONE WILL FALL. Peter was over confidence in his heart. What the Lord teaches us from the scripture
- Denying the Lord is a terrible punishment to God (Matthew 10:32). He wants us to pray and watch (Luke 12:4-9). He is not referring to believers, he's talking to the unbelievers. He want everyone to fear him I WILL NOT DENY THE LORD. Why do Christian denied the Lord? We see how Peter denied the Lord, and he became different
• Fear of Man(Proverbs 29:25; Isaiah 57:11)
• Following afar the Master (Matthew 26:58)
• Fellowship with the Mocker (John 18:25)
• Forgetting the Message (Luke 22:61)
• Fainting in the Mind (Hebrews 12:3)
• Faithlessness at the critical Moment (Hebrews 10:38,39)
• Falsehood before the Multitude (Proverbs 14:5,9).
.
POINT (3)
THE PERFECT DIGNITY OF A SELF CONFIDENCE CHRISTIAN.
John 18:19-23,46; 1Peter 2:20-23; John 1:18; Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrews 7:24-26; 1John 3:5-9.
Jesus Christ is encouraging us to be cool and courageous. He has the Perfect dignity cool and courage, sinless and stainless, great and glorious, sinless and spotless, pure and powerful - (Godly, good and glorious),(Meek, merciful and mighty), (Faithful, forgiveness and forebearing). Jesus Christ who continued steadfast has unchangeable priesthood. Jesus who is perfect, holy, flawless, spotless, blameless, sinless, stainless. Because we are born of God, he gives us the grace, holy and righteous that we might be like him. Jesus Christ our perfect sovereignty and perfect example.

MONDAY BIBLE STUDY WITH OUR FATHER IN THE LORD, PASTOR W.F. KUMUYI FROM ALIMOSHO GROUP (05/11/18)

TOPIC: THE CERTAINTY AND EVIDENCE OF CHRIST’S RESURRECTION

TEXT: JOHN 20:1-23

We are learning tonight about Christ's resurrection. Before now, Jesus had concluded His ministry of preaching, teaching, telling people about the love of the Father. After this, He was betrayed, judged, crucified even though He was innocent. On the cross, two malefactors were nailed on either side of Him. One condemned and derided Him, while the other glorified Him, and asked for pardon and mercy. So Jesus died and was buried, and a stone was rolled on the grave so that no one will bring Him out.

But on the first day of the week, the stone was rolled away, and Jesus rose from the dead. Why are we learning about this? It is not enough to have head knowledge of the resurrection but to know what it does for us. We learn so that we will see what happened to Christ and our identification with Him.

- Romans 6:6. Our old man of sin is crucified with Him, hence, we will no longer serve sin.

- Galatians 2:20. We are spiritually crucified with Him, our life of sin crucified and we rise up with Him in newness of life.

- Romans 6:4-5. We die and are buried with Him spiritually, with all desires and propensity to sin. We will experience and live out His resurrection.
- ch 7:4. By our identification with Christ, we are dead to the world and alive in Christ.

- Colossians 3:1-4. Since we are risen with Christ, we are to seek those things which are above because, in a matter of time, He will come and take us home. He rose, showed Himself to His disciples and has gone to sit on the right hand of God in heaven.

- Ephesians 2:6. He has raised us up, and made us to sit together with Him in heavenly places because His death, burial and resurrection give us victory.

A. THE CLEAR EVIDENCE OF THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST. John 20:1-10
The first day of the week is Sunday.
Mary here was not thinking of resurrection. She thought someone had taken Jesus away. When they found out that the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was empty, she and other disciples had forgotten all that Jesus told them.

John 20:9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
The disciples knew not yet the scriptures, despite having spent three and half years with Him, and He had taught and told them repeatedly all that would befall Him: how He would die, be buried and rise the third day.
vs 10. The disciples went back home sorrowful when they should be rejoicing and affirming the resurrection of the Lord. Why? They knew not the Old and New Testament scriptures that reiterated that He would die and rise again. Hence, we see that it is possible for someone to be coming to the church and not know the scriptures. It is possible to learn thoroughly about Him, have miracles of provision of food and job, healing, deliverance and yet, not know the Scriptures about His resurrection.

Psalm 16:10 They should have known this, as Israelites who read the Psalms every time, that this scripture was talking about Christ, yet they did not understand. Acts 2:25-32. This was written about Christ in the Psalms in the Old Testament and referred to in the New Testament. His soul was not left in the grave to see corruption. So when they saw the empty tomb, they were supposed to rejoice and say, Jesus is risen!

Acts 13:29-35. Our Saviour is not on the cross, or in the grave, He is risen! (Wearing the cross around the neck means nothing). Everything dead in us shall resurrect! Unfortunately, the disciples have forgotten about all these promises.

Isaiah 25:8. The resurrection was going to happen because the Lord has spoken it!
He would make the power of resurrection work in us - Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

So it was in the New Testament. All the words of Jesus Christ and the words of the Old Testament are the words of God, they are all referred to as the Scriptures. All the miraculous works wrought by Jesus Christ were enough evidence that He would rise again Matthew 16:21

Mark 9:9 This was after the experience on the mount of transfiguration. Jesus told His disciples to not tell anyone till He was risen from the dead. The disciples did not understand, and yet, they did not ask Him about it. vs 31-32

Luke 18:31-34. Here, Jesus was telling his disciples about all he was going to pass through. Everything written about Jesus must surely come to pass. All the time, He mentioned the third day, not at any time the second day, which means, He was referring to His day of resurrection. So they were supposed to go to the tomb with great expectation and excitement on that third day, knowing fully well that heaven and earth shall pass away but His words will never pass away unfulfilled. ch 24:44-46.

The empty tomb proved that our Lord is risen. The grave could not hold Him, and the grave will not hold us. He rose, we also must rise, every power holding us down is broken in Jesus name.

B. THE CONVINCING ENCOUNTER WITH THE RISEN CHRIST. John 20:11-18
The other disciples went back home, not caring much about the empty tomb, vs 10, but Mary stood there weeping. There is a special manifestation for those who tarry longer, who desire to know the end of things that matter. Then Mary stooped down and looked into the sepulcher. She saw two angels which Peter and the other disciples did not see. The angels asked her why she wept. Jesus was also there, asking her same question. Mary did not recognize Him until He called her by her name, He knows my name, He knows your name, He knows our house, why we are weeping. One word from Him, and all will be well with us.

Mary brought the tidings to the other disciples that she has seen Jesus. She was the one that waited, tarried, and she was the one who saw Jesus. The people who wait on the Lord are those who get saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost.

vs 17. Jesus called the disciples ‘my brethren’ which indicated that they were born again, though some people claimed that the disciples were not.

Matthew 28:7,10; 12:48. Jesus called His disciples brethren, and as many as have forsaken the ways, religion, idols of the world, and decided to follow Jesus. We are all His brethren.

ch 12:48-50. How is it that some people still say that the disciples were not born again? Jesus said clearly here that His brethren were the disciples and all those who do the will of His Father in heaven.

II Cor 6:17-18. Believers are enjoined to come out from among sinners, gamblers, and the unclean. We are God’s children, and God is our Father.

Romans 8:14-17, 29. As many as are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God. We have the Spirit of God dwelling in us, so we can call Him Abba Father. His spirit also bear witness with ours that we are His.

Hebrews 2:11. Jesus is not ashamed to call us brethren. He shows us even to the angels that we are His brethren. Sanctification is not only about unity among the body of believers but being in unity with Jesus, loving what he loves, hating what He hates.
ch 8:10. God promises to write His laws in our hearts, and that He will be our God and we shall be His people.
ch 11:16. We are going to heaven, to the place of rest, which is far better than this present world. We will not be in this polluted world forever. Our Saviour has gone to prepare a place for us. He has prepared for us a city.

I John 3:1-6. Here we see identification with Christ. He was dead and is risen, just as we also were dead in sin, but now are risen with Him. vs 8-10. Anywhere we are, at home or in the church, we are children of God. His nature abides in us, so we are no longer sinners. He was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil in us.

Jesus told Mary, go and tell my brethren that I ascend unto my Father. It was a very convincing encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is surely risen.

C. THE CONFIRMED EXPERIENCE BY THE REASSURING CHRIST. John 20:19-23
Through Jesus Christ, we have peace in our hearts, minds, spirits, souls, life, and family when we make Him the Master and Lord of our lives, Romans 5:1.

Ephesians 2:14-17. He is our peace. He has broken down the middle wall of partition between us and God. He brought us who were far, closer to God.

Philippians 4:17. The peace of God that passes all understanding becomes our portion when we give ourselves totally to Him.

II Peter 3:11-14. Everything in this world will go up in flames and be dissolved in fervent heat, but we that are Christ’s will abide forever. We must not allow sin to disturb the peace of God in our hearts.

John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Jesus has given us His peace and also sent us forth to preach the gospel. He has sent us all, as many as are saved, not only the ordained preachers, graduates of seminary schools, not only the men, but all those who are saved and have the peace of God in their hearts.
ch 17:17-18. Likewise, all those who are sanctified by the blood of Christ are sent into the world to preach the gospel.

Mark 16:15-16. We are to take the gospel into all the world. Luke 24:46-47; Acts 26:16-19. We must not be disobedient to the heavenly vision of preaching the gospel, everywhere, every time. We have been sent just like Apostle Paul.

Romans 10:13-15. In our village, community, anywhere we find ourselves, we must be the preachers. We must not keep our mouth shut. Acts 8:4. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. We must go everywhere, preaching the word.

John 20:22. Jesus breathed upon the disciples and said, Receive ye the Holy Ghost, thereby renewing their lives because they were depressed and discouraged. The Holy Ghost refreshing, joy, and power we have received will remain with us forever. Job 33:4. The breath of the Almighty God gives us life. Psalm 33:6. All creation were made by the breath of the mouth of God.

I Cor 2:12. By the spirit of God, we know all that He has given us freely: salvation, sanctification, Holy Ghost power.

John 20:23. How do we remit someone’s sins? By telling them about the power of Christ to save and deliver from sin.

Luke 24:47. We preach to sinners repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus.

Acts 10:42. Whosoever believes in Jesus will have remission of sins.

Romans 3:23-25. Sinners need to be told about the blood of Christ which has the power to save them completely from their sins.

Hebrews 9:22. We are not the ones to forgive or remove people’s sins but we are to tell them about Jesus so that they will believe and be saved. People will get to heaven through us.

Romans 10:8-10, 13. In our preaching, we must emphasize the resurrection of Jesus Christ, now that we have more confirmation and convinction about it.

Jesus is risen! Jesus is alive! He has become our Saviour, He is our Lord.

Prayer:
- May the blessings of the resurrection power of Christ be our portion.
- May our father in the Lord be blessed beyond measure, may He never be weary or tired. May He finish this heavenly race well in Jesus name. Amen.

The Certainty And Evidence of Christ's Resurrection

1. The Clear Evidence Of the Resurrection of Christ.

"The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid Him. Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin, that was about His head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again unto their own home" (John 20:1-10).

It is possible for somebody to be coming to the church for years and not know that he needs the evidence of the risen life in his life.

"But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre. And seeth two angels in white sitting, ...And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto Him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master" (John 20:11-16).

Unlike Mary, many believers today fail to tarry enough in the presence of the Lord in the place of prayer to be able to see Jesus manifest in their situations. Peter and John in this chapter lacked the ability to persevere until they could see Jesus but Mary. Our ability to tarry enough in His presence demonstrates; how much we love Him, how much we depend on Him and how desperate we are.

What they should have known but they didn't know:

"For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption" (Psalm 16:10).

"For David speaketh concerning Him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for He is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption" (Acts 2:25-27).

This is written about Christ.

"Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, neither His flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses" (Acts 2:28-32).

They didn't remember the scriptures they were reading.

I know Christ is not in the grave. He is risen.

"And when they had fulfilled all that was written of Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre. But God raised Him from the dead" (Acts 13:29-30):

Our Saviour is not on the cross. Some think Jesus is still there on the cross. He is not on the cross anymore, Jesus is risen.

"And He was seen many days of them which came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses unto the people. And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that He raised Him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, He said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Wherefore He saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption" (Acts 13:31-35).

He is giving us assurance from the Old Testament that Jesus must rise again.

"He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it" (Isaiah 25:8). .

This was a prophecy concerning Jesus Christ.

The resurrection was going to happen for the Lord has spoken it.

"Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead" (Isaiah 26:19).

That is resurrection. That is the Lord speaking that He is going to make that resurrection power to work in every life. The disciples had forgotten all about that.

New Testament Scriptures that Jesus Christ had spoken.

"God who at sundry times had spoken unto us by His Son"

"From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto His disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day" (Matthew 16:21).

I will not forget the word of God.

We are serving the Living God.

"And as they came down from the mountain, He charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead. And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean. For He taught His disciples, and said unto them, The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill Him; and after that He is killed, He shall rise the third day" (Mark 9:9-10, 31).

Teaching of Christ is part of scriptures.

There is certainty, evidence about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask Him" (Mark 9:32).

"Then He took unto Him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished" (Luke 18:31).

Everything that the Lord has written concerning me will be accomplished.

"For He shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge Him, and put Him to death: and the third day He shall rise again" (Luke 18:32-33).

He has said that He has gone to prepare a place for us and come again. We should not forget that He is coming again.

"And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me. Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day" (Luke 24:44-46):

The grave could not hold Him and thus it will not hold you.

He rose you must rise.

To be continued...

The Certainty And Evidence of Christ's Resurrection (Continued)

2. The Convincing Encounter with the Risen Christ

"But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre" (John 20:11)

"Then the disciples went away again unto their own home" (John 20:10).

There is a manifestation. If you wait upon the Lord you will not be ashamed.

"And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain" (John 20:12).

She said there must be a meaning here and saw two angels in the sepulcher. You will find your Lord tonight.

"And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing Him to be the gardener, saith unto Him, Sir, if thou have borne Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto Him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch Me not; for I am not yet ascended to My Father: but go to My brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto My Father, and your Father; and to My God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things unto her" (John 20:12-18).

The people who see the Lord, sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost, are the people that wait.

"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God" (John 20:17).

He called the disciples brethren, they were children of God, they were born again. Their names were written in heaven. There are some people who say that the disciples were not born again.

The Disciples are His brethren, members of the same family.

"Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils...After that He appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country" (Mark 16:9, 12).

"And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you...Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me" (Matthew 28:7, 10).

They were called disciples and He called them My brethren.

"But He answered and said unto him that told Him, Who is My mother? and who are My brethren? And He stretched forth His hand toward His disciples, and said, Behold My mother and My brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother" (Matthew 12:48-50).

When you come to the Lord Jesus Christ and you turn away from your sins and you turn to Him to be your Saviour and say that religion will not be your Saviour but believe that Jesus alone will save me. I am one of the brethren of Jesus Christ.

"And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name. And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven" (Luke 10:17-20).

Nothing shall by any means hurt you.

How is it that some people are saying that the disciples were not born again? Of cause they were born again and were brethren of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How can this happen? And how will it happen to anyone who wants to become a disciple of Jesus Christ?

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty" (2 Corinthians 6:17-18).

He will never cast away anyone that comes to Him.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father" (Romans 8:14-15).

Because we have the Spirit of God walking in us, we feel His love and affection, because His God is our God. Because He has washed us by His blood we can call Him Abba Father! And because we know that His Father is our Father.

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together...For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Romans 8:16-17, 29).

I am a child of God. When He said that I go to My God and your God, My Father and your Father....

"For both He that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren" (Hebrews 2:11).

He does not only save us, He plunges us into the blood of the Lamb to be sanctified.

Sanctification is the unity of believers. Everyone who is sanctified are called brethren.

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people" (Hebrews 8:10).

Jesus said I go to my God and your God and God said that He will write His law in our mind/hearts.

"But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city" (Hebrews 11:16).

We are going to a better country.

You must be there.

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is" (1 John 3:1-2).

Once you look up to the Lord Jesus Christ and say that Lord, Save me, you become at that moment a child of God.

He gives you the grace to live a righteous life.

"And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure" (1 John 3:3).

Identification with Christ in crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, ascension to heaven, sitting with Christ and the Coming King.

He was crucified, He died, He was buried, He rose and He ascended, He is sitted and He is coming again.

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin" (1 John 3:4-5).

And I know that He was manifested to take away my sins and in Him is no sins.

If something is taken away you find them no more.

The same thing in your life that those spirits are sitting upon to ruin your life. Jesus Christ has come to take your sins away and it will not be in your life again.

"Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him" (1 John 3:6).

I abide and I will not sin. All your sin will be taken away.

"Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:7-8).

You will not be of the devil. Sin must vanish out of your life completely.

Sin in talking and in action will vanish away, in Jesus' name.

"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother" (1 John 3:9-10).

Jesus appeared to Mary and said that she should go and tell the brethren.

The Certainty And Evidence of Christ's Resurrection (Concluded)

3. The Confirmed Experience By The Reassuring Christ.

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained (John 20:19-23).

You must experience this tonight.

Evening of joy, of impartation. We can have peace now through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peace in our mind, spirits, soul and in our families.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).

You make Him the Lord of your life, the Master of your soul the Captain your salvation you bring His Peace will descent inside your soul.

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh (Ephesians 2:14-17).

I have the peace of God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

If we are going to be with the Lord at the rapture that peace must be flowing there.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless (2 Peter 3:11-14).

All the people are gathering together today will all go up in flames but we who have the peace of the Lord will abide with Him forever.

Don't allow anything to touch that peace or to disturb the peace you have in Christ. If sin comes in it will touch that peace. Stay away from those sin and if those terrible habits come in it will disturb the peace of God in our hearts.

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you (John 20:21).

There are some people that say that it is only ordained, pastors, men that are supposed to be preaching. All the people that have the peace of God unto them. Those who are justified by God the same are sent.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world (John 17:17-18).

It is not only ministers, men, ordained preachers that are supposed to be sanctified but all those who are born again.

Sanctification is for everyone.

All the people that are sanctified by the sacrifice, blood of Jesus are supposed to take on vs 18.

And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:15-16).

Every creature is not in church, some are in your community, village and everywhere. People will believe and be saved through your preaching.

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem (Luke 24:46-47).

But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision (Acts 26:16-19).

I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision. Some people never show Christ to any sinners and for you to be able to say this you must pick up this challenge today.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:13-15).

Whoever calls upon the Lord to by their Saviour will be saved. If you don't proclaim it to them how shall they hear. In your community, village anywhere where you find people around you be the preacher.

The early church all went out and did it, the church today will go out and preach the gospel.

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word (Acts 8:4).

We are gathered together now for bible study and then we scatter everywhere and as we are going everything we have learnt we will teach the people in Jesus' name.

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost (John 20:22).

What is the meaning, what is the implication?
What is the effect of that in the life of the disciples?

The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life (Job 33:4).

All those disciples were alive but were depressed, discouragaged, had no excitement to live life but Jesus breathing on them gave them the zest.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth (Psalm 33:6).

Receive the Holy Ghost.

And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16-17).

The Holy Ghost, refreshing, the joy of the Spirit, the power that you get here will remain with you.

When He said receive the Holy Ghost He meant that He will be with us forever.

It means He wanted the Holy Spirit to be partners with them and be in them.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (1 Corinthians 2:12).

He has given us a lot.

Salvation, sanctification, HGB, healing free. And the answers to your prayers tonight, free in Jesus' name.

Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained (John 20:23).

Remit means remission, that is, to remove. They are ignorant and you do not tell them their sins will be retained.

You remove somebody's sins is by telling them of the gospel. Just because you are not telling them that their sins will be retained.

For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28).

Tell them that it is the blood of Jesus that will remove their sins and that way that there sins will be remitted and washed away.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem (Luke 24:47).

It is when you preach it, that there sins will be removed.

And ye are witnesses of these things (Luke 24:48).

You will tell them and there sins will be forgiven you will tell them and show them the Saviour and their sins will be remitted in Jesus' name.

And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead (Acts 10:42).

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins (Acts 10:43).

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God (Romans 3:23-25).

And as they believe there sins will be cleansed and be taken away.

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22).

So when it says whosever sins you remit you tell them about Jesus and that makes them to believe and as you preach and pray with them they will be saved.

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach (Romans 10:8).

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).

It is important that we emphasis the resurrection and then we have a confirmed experience of the resurrection of Christ.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).

There is no reason for anybody here not to be saved. Salvation is a free gift of God to you. You believe with your heart and confess with your mouth.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

Jesus is risen, Jesus is alive! He has become our Lord and has become our Saviour. My Jesus rose from the dead and because of that I have peace.

Believing the Report of Christ's Resurrection.

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe. And after eight days again His disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold My hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name. (John 20:24-31).

Jesus knew Thomas' thoughts and that's why He is God, that is why He is Lord.

We have not seen Him in the physical and yet we believe.

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. (John 20:24).

Thomas missed out on Christ's appearance after His resurrection.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25).

He the word of God tells us that we should not be like Thomas by forsaking the assembly of ourselves together. Thomas missed out

The experience of seeing the Lord.
He missed out the enduement
The extraordinary presence of Jesus Christ.

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. (John 20:19).

He missed the impartation of the peace of God coming into their hearts afresh after their dissapointment. If Thomas had been there he would have seen that. The other disciples had already seen.

Some people miss the Bible study, Revival hour or Sunday worship. You will not miss out.

And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you. (John 20:20-21).

Thomas missed that pronouncement.

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. (John 20:22).

Thomas missed that, I pray you will not miss that.

Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. (John 20:23).

Thomas missed that.

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. (John 20:24).

The blessings of God will not elude you.

1. The Inexcusable Faithlessness In Christs' Resurrection.

(John 20:24-27).

Is there any way to excuse the unbelief of Thomas? No.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matthew 28:5-6).

The resurrection of Jesus Christ was testified by an angel.

And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His disciples word. And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me. (Matthew 28:7-10).

Thomas had no excuse. The women testified and had he heard he would not have missed out.

Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself....And it came to pass, as He sat at meat with them, He took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him; and He vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the scriptures? And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. (Luke 24:25-27, 30-34).

These believers came from Emmaus and testified about Jesus' resurrection.

And they told what things were done in the way, and how He was known of them in breaking of bread. And as they thus spake, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And He said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have. (Luke 24:35-39).

Evidently, Christ convinced them that He had risen from the dead.

Why would we say that Thomas had no excuse?

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto His disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. (Matthew 16:21).

He had taught, revealed to them that He was going to rise again. Whatever He said was always true, Thomas should have believed.

His faithlessnesses was inexcusable.

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of Man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. (Matthew 17:22-23).

This was said before His resurrection. They focussed on His absence and not on His resurrection.

They were sorry because they focused on His death and not resurrection.

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away. (Matthew 24:35).

The sun, the sky, the moon and everything we see there will be moved but His words will not change.

The words of Christ are sure and since He revealed to them that He would rise again that should have been enough for His disciples.

And that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. (1 Corinthians 15:5-6).

Jesus rose again and it was not a secret resurrection. It was not something that other people didn't know.

After that, He was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all He was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. (1 Corinthians 15:7-8).

Thomas had no excuse. He said except I see and thrust his finger into his side that he would not believe. What if Jesus did not have compassion on him to come back and reveal Himself to him? What if he remained in that unbelief of the resurrection of Christ?

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15:17).

He couldn't receive full salvation and the grace of God in salvation if he hadn't believed.

Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. (1 Corinthians 15:18).

If Thomas had died without believing in Jesus' resurrection he would have perished.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (1 Corinthians 15:19-20).

Believing in the resurrection is very important, unbelief is inexcusable.

And ye have not His word abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not. (John 5:38).

Thomas didn't have the words of Christ abiding in him.

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins. (John 8:24).

It would be unfortunate for Thomas if he remained in the state of unbelief. If you don't believe in His resurrection it is to your own perdition.

There are many people today who do not believe in the resurrection of Christ, it is to their perdition, their loss.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:4).

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us. (2 Timothy 2:11-12).

You will not deny the Lord, you will not deny the resurrection of the Lord.

If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:13).

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;...And to whom sware He that they should not enter into His rest, but to them that believed not? (Hebrews 3:12-14, 18).

If Thomas had remained in that unbelief condition, if the Lord Jesus had not been compassionate, merciful and favourable to him and he had remained in unbelief he would not have gone to heaven.

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief (Hebrews 3:19).

Believing The Report Of Christ's Resurrection.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awL4dIbZahs

2. Our Indispensable Faith In Christs' Resurrection.

And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God (John 20:28).

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:29).

Eventually he was convinced and then confessed his belief and he went beyond others and also went back to the Old Testament to call Jesus Lord and God.

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

Thomas believed that Jesus is the very God and Lord.

He called Him not only God he called Him LORD.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 23:5-6).

He now believed the prophecies that has been written concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.

Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith the LORD of hosts (Malachi 3:1).

This is the LORD Almighty talking. The Father is also saying that Jesus is Lord and the messenger of the covenant.

Here we find the angel appearing to Joseph and see what he calls Him.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us (Matthew 1:20-23).

When Thomas was convicted and convinced he confirmed Jesus as his Lord, Jesus as his God.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory (1 Timothy 3:16).

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:29).

Real faith is believing before you see.

Pure faith in Christ, in the resurrection of Christ, in the power of Christ the Lord will make available to us in Jesus' name.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible (Hebrews 11:1, 27).

We have not seen it but have read it in the word. And when we believe it will become evident in our lives in Jesus' name.

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:18-20).

Every promise that you have not seen will be manifest in your life in Jesus' name.

Don't wait or walk by sight. You will be fully persuaded that what He has promised He will perform.

But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead (Romans 4:24).

What Abraham did not see he confessed and confirmed, he stood firmly on it. If we believe on Him that raised up Jesus from the dead.

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification (Romans 4:25).

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Not like Thomas asking to thrust his hand into His side before he believed.

For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

You cannot do both together. It is either you are walking by faith or you are walking by sight. You will walk and live by faith.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

Temptations, trials come and I overcome by faith because I walk by faith and as you live by the promises of God your prayer would be yes and amen.

You will live by faith and your life will be blessed everytime as we live by faith in Jesus' name.

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name (John 20:30-31).

He is talking about the signs which He showed them after His resurrection.

This chapter is the chapter of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is to see what we have as a result of that resurrection.

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name (John 20:31).

Believing The Report Of Christ's Resurrection.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awL4dIbZahs

3. Our Inexhaustible Fullness Through Christ's Resurrection.

What do we have as a result of the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

i) Full Salvation.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).

If you don't believe that Christ is risen from the dead you cannot be saved. You may repent, shed tears, turn over a new leaf but if you don't believe that Jesus died for you and rose from the dead you cannot be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).

We believe in the resurrection and then we move on to sanctification.

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:20-21).

Who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently (1 Peter 1:21-22).

Sanctification is also received as we believe. It is not just copying the life of Jesus but it is the faith we have so that we can be sanctified.

ii) Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear (Acts 2:32-33).

We received the promise of the Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Ghost because Christ is risen from the dead.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39).

And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. And His name through faith in His name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all (Acts 3:15-16).

iii) As we believe in the Resurrection we are healed.

But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11).

We believe in the resurrection and because we believe in the resurrection He will heal our mortal bodies.

He will quicken our mortal bodies.

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more (2 Corinthians 5:14-16).

Our new lives as new creatures in Christ depend on the resurrection of Christ.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Do you see how everything is tied to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ?

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:5-6).

You have to believe in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ before you can be identified with Him and you are seated with Him on the throne. That benefit is ours because of the resurrection of Christ.

That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death (Philippians 3:10).

You believe in His resurrection and they you can have the same power that raised Him from the dead.

He gives us the fullness of His benefits:

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory (Colossians 3:1-4).

Your life is protected and preserved when you believe in the resurrection of Christ.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:14-18).

Amen! A person who does not believe in their hearts that Jesus rose from the dead cannot partake in the rapture. To get to heaven you go through the way of the cross and must believe that Christ died for you and rose from the dead. I believe in His virgin birth, in His words, in His miracles, in His death, in His resurrection and in His coming again. Grants us heaven at last.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:3-5).

It is through that resurrection of Christ that we have an inheritance.

The glory of believing in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8).

We are not waiting until we see the print of the nail in His hand. And we are more blessed than those who are waiting for a physical evidence. You will rejoice. In this life, prayers, sanctification, power to live victoriously. Your joy will be full in Jesus' name even from tonight, today. Joy in your work, in your heart, mind and joy, joy all the way to heaven. Great will be your joy infinitely in Jesus' name. Rejoice because He rose again and now you believe that He rose again.

I believe in the resurrection of Christ and on the basis of that everything I ask in prayer I receive.

Another Infallible Proof Of Christ's Resurrection

And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His disciples word. And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me. Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole Him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day (Matthew 28:7-15).

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, He was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all He was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time (1 Corinthians 15:3-8).

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1:1-3).

These proofs made the disciples bold in preaching even under persecution. It is through that resurrection we have forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed Him openly (Acts 10:39-40).

Here is Peter speaking in the house of Cornelius.

Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead. And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins (Acts 10:41-43).

1 The Consequence of Drifting From The Revealed Commission.

After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of His disciples. Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered Him, No. And He said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes (John 21:1-6).

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you...And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord (John 20:19-20).

In this post appearance, He gave them a commission.

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you (John 20:21).

When Peter said I go afishing he was drifting away from the revealed commission.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17).

The step they took was sinning against the light. They went back to their nets but they caught nothing.

Peter was guilty because he disobeyed the heavenly vision

He also was guilty because he caused seven other disciples to drift away. If you don't stay and stand firm at the post of your duty because other people are drifting you do not blame others for it.

They were guilty because they didn't remind, restrain Peter. They did not recover Peter who was going down because of discouragement. They should have recharged him when his spiritual battery was going down. They didn't rebuke him. Somebody should have been bold enough to rebuke him, looking at him eye ball to eyeball and rebuke him.

Were it not for the mercy of God that made Christ come to recover them nothing would have been written about them.

And He said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father (Luke 9:59).

Me first, was the problem of those who drift.

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God...And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house (Luke 9:60-61).

Anytime somebody leaves his duty post is because of "Me first" self-centredness.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62).

For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor (Galatians 2:18).

They were walking contrary to the commission Christ had given them.

And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits....And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins (Leviticus 26:20, 23-24).

I pray that anyone hearing the teaching who has drifted away from the calling of the Lord will come back in Jesus' name.

O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against Me (Micah 6:3).

The Lord's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it (Micah 6:9).

Check up your life, are things going upside down?

It appears that you are catching and then in between your fingers they are getting away. You are healed today and down tomorrow.

I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies (Psalm 119:59).

Consider your ways.

I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments (Psalm 119:60).

If there's a Peter around you there and he is drifting away help him to recover, restore and rebuke him. Don't be so afraid of a fellow brother, pastor, minister and instead of recalling them you drift yourself.

2. Their Committment To The Directives Of The Risen Christ

And He said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was nɑked,) and did cast himself into the sea. And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes. As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken (John 21:6-11).

The result of their obedience, compliance to the word of Christ. They didn't forget what had happened at the beginning of their conversion. Never forget

Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men (Luke 5:4-6, 9-10).

Jesus gave them the miracle catch so that they could understand the spiritual side that from now on they would catch men.

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him (Luke 5:11).

They were saved as disciples, they were prayed for by Christ to be sanctified. Walking contrary to Christ they caught nothing. Be thoughtful and careful and remind yourself of the word of Christ you are hearing everytime. If Christ had left them to their own devices they would have amounted to nothing at the end of their lives.

The Lord is taking us away from any unassigned labour.

Settling for toys instead of treasures from heaven would be a waste.

And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them (Matthew 21:6).

They were obedient at this time.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20).

If we drift from this and drift to unassigned responsibility we would catch nothing.

Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men (Mark 7:7).

If we follow after the drifters and then abandon the assigned responsibility.

Tradition, opinions and practise of men above the revealed will of God.

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And He said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition (Mark 7:8-9).

You will keep to the word of God.

And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (Luke 6:46).

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of His disciples. Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing (John 21:2-3).

Thomas who just said "My Lord and my God"

And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God (John 20:28).

Why are we always coming to the bible study and not obeying the Lord and our God?

And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to Me, and heareth My sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great (Luke 6:46-49).

I pray your spiritual house will not collapse.

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more (Luke 12:47-48).

I will be a doer of the word.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus....Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain (Philippians 2:5, 12-16).

The labour of Christ and the labour of the teachers of the word would not be in vain in your lives in Jesus' name.

3. The Compensation For Devotion To The Reigning Christ

He wants to reign over every one of His disciples.

And He said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes (John 21:6).

They did what He commanded them to do.

Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken (John 21:11).

The risen Christ is the reigning Lord. Each believer ought to surrender, obey without delay, without any reservation.

Today He speaks to us through His servants, He has given us the Bible. We ought to obey promptly and then our nets would be full.

Christ's power and resurretion would be revealed unto us when we obey.

For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it (Matthew 8:9).

If truely we are men and women under His authority this is what we ought to do.

His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it (John 2:5).

He is the ruling sovereign Christ, He has the right, do it.

And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus (Acts 4:18).

Who ever comes to tell you not to preach is a stranger to Christ and doesn't have the right to prevent you from preaching.

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye (Acts 4:19).

Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:28-29).

If you drifted before you are no more a drifter.

We ought to obey God rather than men whoever the men are.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed (James 1:22-25).

Amen.

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance (1 Peter 1:14).

Maybe you had been drifting, unstable as water but now the Lord is saying that we should be obedient children.

But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (1 Peter 1:15-16).

And as we obey the Lord the blessings of obedience will come upon us in Jesus' name.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight (1 John 3:22).

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not (1 John 5:2-5, 18).

When we obey the Lord and are keeping the commandments of the Lord that wicked one will not touch us. Obey the Lord and the blessing will be upon you.

For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her (Zechariah 2:5). (Personalise this).

Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath He sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:7-8).

The Lord has exalted you, remind yourself that the Lord has called you.

For, behold, I will shake Mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me. Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord (Zechariah 2:9-10).

This Is That Year.

This is that year I have been telling you about; the year when truly, everything becomes new.

The year of endless possibilities, unlimited potentials and divine favour backing it all. It is the year we have been waiting for because God has promised to do us good.

This is that year when the floodgates of heaven have already been opened, the blessings we have long prayed for is on its way and an outpouring of revival has begun.

A year when we will keep looking for more and more chances to share the good news of Christ, to share testimonies of his miraculous work in our lives and to share a word and actions of faith, hope and love.

Remember when you shed tears of pain, distraught and fear, this year, tears of wonderment, fulfilment and immeasurable joy will be ceaseless in running down your cheeks.

Children for those who have sought for it, the family that wants one gets one, those who desired twins, will get theirs, and those who have prayed and sought for long, have you started preparing? Multiple births are coming your way.

Admissions into institution of higher learning, scholarships to back them up and retentive and innovative brains to ensure you emerge with a First class has been placed on you.

Start to practice how to share your testimony, because you will have to do it, and do it again, and then share an even bigger one.
Those that expect an outpouring leave home with an umbrella, those that know God has made this year just for them leave their house every day with a smile and the assurance that "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Our tears have been wiped off, our sorrows turned to joy and our hope has been restored.

When I told you that this is the year we have been waiting for, do you now know what I mean? Why not start counting your blessings and naming them one by one, because, in twelve months time, they will be too much for you to count.

Are you ready for the best year you have ever lived? Don't forget, there will be no lack, no loss and no limitations in your life this year.
This is your year.

1. The Charactistics of the Command Of The Risen Christ

And He said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes (John 21:6).

Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught (Luke 5:4).

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs (John 21:15).

Are you loving the kingdom of God above every other thing in your life? You must make God your number one.

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:4).

He still demands the same thing.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:5).

Before He went to the cross before He died, what He demanded then He still demands today. His demand has not changed.

What He demanded before He went to the cross:

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God (Luke 9:60).

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:61-62).

What He said after the resurrection:

And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).

He still demands the same thing after the resurrection.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:16).

He still wants us to preach the gospel today.

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:43-44).

What is He saying at this time?

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee (Revelation 3:2-3).

He said watch before He died and He is still saying the same thing today.

Behold, I come ɑs a thief. Blessed is he thɑt wɑtcheth, ɑnd keepeth his gɑrments, lest he wɑlk nɑked, ɑnd they see his shɑme (Revelɑtion 16:15).

His commandments remain the same today.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20).

Don't be quiet on some things He said. Those commandments have not changed.

2. The Care and the Concern of the Revealed Christ

Therefore thɑt disciple whom Jesus loved sɑith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heɑrd thɑt it wɑs the Lord, he girt his fisher's coɑt unto him, (for he wɑs nɑked,) ɑnd did cɑst himself into the seɑ (John 21:7).

By the manifestation of His miracle power, we can see that it is the Lord.

Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken (John 21:8-11).

You will see here the care of the Lord. He reveals His care, compassion and concern for His fold. This was not any different for His care in the Old Covenant.

The question is are we going to have the same care, provision and preparation under the Old Covenant in the New Covenant? Yes, He is providing for us greater and higher of those in the Old Covenant. As He did for His own disciples He will do for us.

How was it under the Old Covenant?

And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat (1 Kings 19:5).

And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee (1 Kings 19:6-7).

Elijah was in a moment of discouragement the Lord provided food for him.

The disciples were equally discouraged after the
resurrection but Jesus came and provided a large draught of fish for them.

And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God (1 Kings 19:8).

He came and provided the meat for them so that they will rise up.

And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing (Luke 22:35).

You will not lack, He will supply your needs.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Hebrews 13:5-6).

He will provide for you. You will not lack.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8, 8).

What He did for them He will do for you.

O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing (Psalm 34:9-10).

You will not lack, need or be in scarcity.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed (Psalm 37:3).

No regret. No discouragment. No despair.

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday (Psalm 37:4-6).

You are not righteous in vain, it will bring forth benefits in your life in Jesus' name.

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass (Psalm 37:7).

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread (Psalm 37:25).

He will not forsake you. You nor your children will not beg. He will bless you and bring the desires of your family to pass.

I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Oh that My people had hearkened unto Me, and Israel had walked in My ways! (Psalm 81:10, 13).

Your enemies are subdued.

I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned My hand against their adversaries. The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee (Psalm 81:14-16).

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness (Psalm 84:10).

When you come to worship, Bible study or fellowship.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).

Time of blessing, of His care and provision, are supplied.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32).

He that spare not His own Son but delivered Him up for me, shall He not with Him also freely give me all things?

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Peter 1:3-4).

Thank has provided and is going to provide all your needs.

3.The Call and the Compassion of Our Reigning Christ.

Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask Him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord (John 21:12).

His care and miraculous provision revealed Him.

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. This is now the third time that Jesus shewed Himself to His disciples, after that He was risen from the dead (John 21:13-14).

You will not forget His impartation upon your life.

Him God raised up the third day, and shewed Him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead (Acts 10:40-41).

Peter remembered that he dined with Him after the resurrection.

He will provide for you and you will not lack in your life in Jesus' name.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give Me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again (John 4:10, 13).

He will satisfy you to your satisfaction. Till the end of your life, you will not lack.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive:for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:37-39).

He is going to fill us to overflowing.

He is going beyond the physical.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).

He will fill you will righteousness, peace and joy. You will rule as a king.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).

It's available for us and today He will bless us.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God (Revelation 19:7-9).

Foundation Of Love For Acceptable Service

John 21:15-17 KJV
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. [16] He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. [17] He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

You will see here that Jesus Christ was talking about love. He asked Peter a question three times "loveth thou me?"

There are many people that think that they love Christ more.

Luke 7:40-41 KJV
And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. [41] There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

Luke 7:42 KJV
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

There is loving, loving more and loving most. Both creditors were forgiven.

Luke 7:43 KJV
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he , to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

The had love Peter and now he went away from the Lord but was there any hope for Peter? He went back but was restored. There is loving Christ more when you see what He has done for you.

2 Samuel 1:26 KJV
I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

David said that the love of Jonathan was more than the love of women.

He saved me and then loved me.
He sanctified - He loved more
He healed me
He went to prepare heaven for us.
He sent the Holy Spirit - there is reason to love Him more.

There is loving God and there is loving God more.

John 21:15 KJV
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Here we have fish on the ground and Jesus is asking do you love me more than what fish signifies. The Lord is asking you with more than what He has done for you?

The other disciples said that they are going with Peter. Are there people in your life that you are following that stop following the Lord and you do the same.

1. The Heart Searching Concern For Our First Love For Christ

In the Greek there is supernatural love that God puts in our hearts the Agape love. There is also human love and biological love.

The Agape love is different from Filial (human love).

With everything that He has sacrificed do we love Him with human love.

If we love Christ we would demostrate it to others.

Deuteronomy 30:6 KJV
And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

This kind of love comes to the heart when God puts it

There is a kind of love that is holy and higher . Is the heart so circumcised?

Matthew 10:37 KJV
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Because He died for us because He paid the penalty that no one else could pay.

Psalm 87:2 KJV
The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

There is the gate of the house of God (worshipping the Lord).

If you say that you love somebody but you never think of going to his house. If you love Christ you will love the place of worship.

Psalm 119:127 KJV
Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

If we love God more than our money we will give it out for the work of the Lord.

Psalm 119:128 KJV
Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

Psalm 138:2 KJV
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Having the love for the word of God above just mentioning the names of God.

Song of Solomon 8:6 KJV
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

A kind of love that is so strong as death.

Song of Solomon 8:7 KJV
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

What kind of water of affliction, adversity that came on you that made you to go afishing? Many waters will not quench love.

Ask yourself what's happening today whether you still love Christ with the love you had for Him in the beginning of your Christian race.

Loving Christ more than prominent society more than the praise of men. Loving Him more than women or men. Y

You love Him without a rival, reservation, regret, reasonings, rewards, reckoning, retiring, conditions, compromise, self

Revelation 2:4 KJV
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Remember the first day you met Christ.

Revelation 2:5 KJV
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

The Lord is calling us back to that first love.

2. The Heart felt consecration with fundamental loyalty to Christ

Heavenly and supernatural love with be in your heart.

I love Jesus Christ. Nothing will ever separate us from Christ.

It is love with loyalty, obedience, absolute, total faithfulness, without pretence or hypocrisy. It is covenant, constant love, that reaches deep into the conscience.

Matthew 6:21 KJV
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The lover of our souls is in heaven and our hearts are there.

Exodus 21:2-4 KJV
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. [3] If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. [4] If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.

Before you came to Christ you knew nothing, possessed nothing you were a slave of men and women that held you captive and now Jesus came a took you away from the bullies and has now given you peace of mind, joy of salvation, husband, wife and children and the joy of heaven. Do you want to go away and leave these behind.

Exodus 21:5 KJV
And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

You will not go away from the Lord. Who else can we be loyal to who will love us like Jesus Christ?

Exodus 21:6 KJV
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

I will love the Lord for ever.

See the implication:

2 Samuel 15:15 KJV
And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.

I have no will, dream, direction, assignment or loyalty to any other person.

1 Kings 20:4 KJV
And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have.

That is the love Christ is expecting when He asked do you love me more than this?

Anything that I will ever have I am thine. Nothing will separate me from the love of Christ. I love Him this now and will keep on loving Him until the rapture.

Romans 8:35, 38-39 KJV
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword? [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You will not backslide in Jesus' name.

3.The Heart Warming Committment To Faithful labour for Christ

Only those who love Christ that are committed to feeding the people of God.

Those who feed the people of God are:

Saved
Sanctified
Saturated
Steadfast
Sincere
Spirit filled
Loves Christ
Loves the saints
Loves the sinners

A church that is being fed is known. If you are going to feed your household you have to think and plan and face the heat in the kitchen.

Your faith, love, desire for the things of God is growing.

The feeding that the Lord was referring to:

Jeremiah 3:15 KJV
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Jeremiah 23:4 KJV
And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord .

When you are well fed you will not lack.

Isaiah 30:19-20 KJV
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. [20] And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

Don't because of administration or decision making in the church that ministers will punish the members by not teaching, exalt, counsel the church of God with everything we have so that our students will not fail.

Love, faith, conviction, loyalty.

Bible Study (10th December, 2018): FOLLOWING CHRIST WHATEVER OTHERS DO

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcfW3tPn9vo

Following Christ Whatever Others Do

John 21:19-22 KJV
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. [20] Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? [21] Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do ? [22] Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

The Word follow, following.

John 21:18-23 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. [19] This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. [23] Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

The Lord Jesus was telling Peter to feed the flock.

John 21:15 KJV
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

He wanted to know how much he loved Him.

That is what we are expected to do, it is to feed other people with the word of God.

Acts 20:28 KJV
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

1 Peter 5:1 KJV
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

Jeremiah 3:15 KJV
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Feed them with the knowledge and understanding of the Christian life.

Jeremiah 23:4 KJV
And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord .

Their fear of the future, of guilt and of what will happen after they have left this world shall be no more.

Isaiah 30:19-21 KJV
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. [20] And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: [21] And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Amos 8:11 KJV
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God , that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord :

Amos 8:12 KJV
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord , and shall not find it .

Zephaniah 3:13 KJV
The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

When the word enters in and bears fruit it will do us good.

Psalm 28:7-9 KJV
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. [8] The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. [9] Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

The only thing that can lift us up out of all the judgments of the world is when we have fed on the word of God.

He commanded and also commisioned Peter to feed His flock. That we should nourish them, not to deprive, not frighten, nor frustrate them, don't fight them, don't falsify them, don't fleece them, don't forget them. Feed them lovingly and purposefully.

Drink, desire, digest and do the word of God so that it will bear fruit in our lives. Declare it to other people. Defend it.

1. Following Christ With Uncompromisable Consecration.

John 21:18 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

Jesus was telling Peter that he is going to get very old before he comes up to heaven.

i) He was going to live old
ii) He was not going to die in the prison by Herold
iii) He was led of him to places he hadn't been before.

John 21:19 KJV
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

When persecution, difficulties and dangers come it is to make us glorify God.

Luke 18:28-30 KJV
Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. [29] And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, [30] Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

John 13:36-37 KJV
Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards. [37] Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

Matthew 26:57-58 KJV
And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. [58] But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

Peter who had said that he would always follow was now following afar off.

John 21:3 KJV
Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

He eventually stopped following. His committment and consecration was no more there.

John 21:19 KJV
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

The Lord wants us to look back to when we were converted, how everything changed in our lives. But now are you dragging your feet, are you changing, is everything now conditional? That is why the Lord is calling you back that let your consecration be restored.

Matthew 10:37 KJV
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Your committment to Christ, your pledge of following the Lord must be number one. No one should come between us and the Lord.

There may be crosses you are called to bear: sicknessess, rejection of people.

Matthew 10:39 KJV
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:24 KJV
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

There are some things, situations that self would like to have but it will put a dent, a stain from following the Lord. Whatever will compete with following the Lord must be given up.

Matthew 16:25 KJV
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

You will follow the Lord. Amen.

Luke 9:23 KJV
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

What does it mean to follow the Lord?

1 Peter 2:21 KJV
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Your obedience, faithfulness and loyalty is measured with that of Christ. What would Jesus do?

2. Following Christ With Unconditional Commitment

John 21:20 KJV
Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

John followed the footsteps of Christ.

John 3:1 KJV
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

Acts 3:1 KJV
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour .

Acts 4:13 KJV
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Acts 5:18, 28-29 KJV
And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. [28] Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. [29] Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Revelation 1:1 KJV
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

I'll keep on following like John.

Revelation 1:8-9 KJV
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. [9] I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

He kept on following even though there was stiff persecution.

John 10:4-5 KJV
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. [5] And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

You will not follow strangers but you will follow the Lord.

Ephesians 5:1-4, 7 KJV
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; [2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. [3] But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; [4] Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. [7] Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

1 Thessalonians 1:6-10 KJV
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: [7] So that ye were examples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. [8] For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. [9] For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; [10] And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Once they made up their minds they were not discouraged. In such a way we will all follow the Lord.

1 Peter 3:13 KJV
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

Your character, conduct is good then no one can hurt you.

1 Peter 3:13-14 KJV
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? [14] But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye : and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

3. Following Christ Despite Unclear Comprehension

John 21:21 KJV
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do ?

Instead of concentrating on their own personal lives they are busy thinking about other people.

John 21:22 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Follow the Lord even when you don't comprehend what is happening to others.

Whether praise me or not I will follow the Lord. Following the Lord is what our calling is.

John 8:11 KJV
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Whatever others do. Those Pharisees didn't wait to receive grace for freedom.

John 8:12 KJV
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

You will not go back to darkness, to lying, to hypocrisy. If you are going to follow the Lord you will not look at the Pharisees.

John 12:24-26 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. [25] He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. [26] If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

I will follow the Lord till the very end in Jesus' name.

Philippians 3:12 KJV
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

I follow after, even without having comprehension.

Philippians 3:13 KJV
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do , forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

I wake up today and I say how can I be more faithful today than I was yesterday?

Philippians 3:14 KJV
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

You will do that in Jesus' name.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 KJV
See that none render evil for evil unto any man ; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men .

1 Thessalonians 5:16-23 KJV
Rejoice evermore. [17] Pray without ceasing. [18] In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. [19] Quench not the Spirit. [20] Despise not prophesyings. [21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. [22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. [23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It will happen.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 KJV
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

He will do it in your life.

2 Timothy 2:21 KJV
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Whenever something rubs the negative way in your life what do you do?

2 Timothy 2:22 KJV
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7 KJV
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. [3] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor , and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. [4] Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [5] Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [6] Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; [7] Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

The Lord has called us to follow righteousness and holiness and He will give us the grace to follow.

Hebrews 12:14 KJV
Follow peace with all men , and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Thank God I will follow the Lord. We will keep on following the Lord in Jesus' name.

Revelation 14:4-5, 13 KJV
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. [5] And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. [13] And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Your works, faithfulness and committment will follow you. And you follow the Lord at the end of life your rewards will follow you.

Bible Study (January 07, 2019): The Fruitfulness of Abiding Believers in Christ

The Fruitfulness of Abiding Believers in Christ

Malachi 3:3-4 KJV
And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. [4] Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord , as in the days of old, and as in former years.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 KJV
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: [8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

As there was a purging there is also prunning. As a believer you look at your life and see that there is no sins or things that are worthless in your attitude, in your manners that is taking things away from your life.

Deuteronomy 30:6 KJV
And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

The extra flesh that you brought into this world is not poisonous but it is going to collect bacteria which needs to be prunned away so that no material collected from the world will affect your life.

Matthew 3:12 KJV
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The chaff is not poisonous it is just that it does not have anything useful. It is the prunning that takes all these away.

Examine what it is like foreskin, chaff in my life that the Lord wants to prune so that we can bear more fruit.

2 Timothy 2:21 KJV
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Take off anything that is limiting your usefulness, i.e. the way your spend your time, talk should be taken off.

2 Timothy 2:22 KJV
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Philippians 3:7 KJV
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Spending so much time watching games, sports, irrelevant, worthless, useless things that you habitually do.

Philippians 3:8 KJV
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

2. The Peril of Fruitless Branches

John 15:2 KJV
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

John 15:6 KJV
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

i) The profession of false believers

Titus 1:16 KJV
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him , being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

2 Timothy 3:5-7 KJV
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Ever learning about salvation, repentance, Christ but unable to show fruits.

James 2:17, 20 KJV
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

John 15:2 KJV
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Jeremiah 6:16 KJV
Thus saith the Lord , Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein .

Jeremiah 6:17-19 KJV
Also I set watchmen over you, saying , Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken. [18] Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. [19] Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

That is why Jesus asked this question:

Luke 6:46, 49 KJV
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? [49] But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Hebrews 6:7-8 KJV
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: [8] But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

ii) The pr=e
iii) The position of persisting backsliders

John 15:6 KJV
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Matthew 3:9-10 KJV
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. [10] And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Matthew 7:16-18 KJV
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

If you are really born again you cannot bring forth lying, fornicating, fighting.

Matthew 13:41-42 KJV
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; [42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Hebrews 10:26-31 KJV
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

That will not be my lot.

Jude 1:12-13 KJV
These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; [13] Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Revelation 20:10-15 KJV
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are , and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. [11] And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This is the second death, the final death. Thank God I will be there.

3. The Preparation and the Preservation of Abiding Believers

John 15:3-5 KJV
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. [4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. [5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

i) Purity through cleansing by Christ.

John 15:3 KJV
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

We need that purity to get to heaven.

Psalm 24:3-4 KJV
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord ? or who shall stand in his holy place? [4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Salvation and sanctification.

Ephesians 5:25-27 KJV
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

1 John 1:5-7 KJV
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. [6] If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: [7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

ii) The priority of continuing in Christ.

John 15:4 KJV
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 8:31 KJV
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

There are some people who misunderstand the promise of God and think that even if they do not continue that they will be alright.

Acts 27:22-24, 31 KJV
And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. [23] For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, [24] Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. [31] Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

Eternal security debunked. The promise of God has conditions.

iii) The proof of consecration to Christ.

John 15:5 KJV
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

More grace, favour is available today to bear fruit. Get nearer to God. Pray for more grace today. He wants His grace to multiply in your life.
