Some of us, including my humble self stay in upper middle class environs in ikoyi and we are igbo and haven't denigrated our environment. My humble suggestion? Don't be tribalistic, it earns you nothing positive.

The lack of civilization in thier jungle is very glaring and apparent here in the SW. I totally support Fashola and their deportation back to that jungle of theirs. grin

Have you been to festac before?....Or you just naming names you have had of, while living far away.

Blame the government, blame the Masses...
I think its high time people started building low cost house, its not everyone that would be able to afford the big ones. And it is not by force to live and die in Lagos, instead of me living in such an environment I think I'll rather relocate.

Fashola did a great job in that place but Ambode ruined everything
That environment has been filthy since Tinubu era, a friend of mine had a pharmacy shop in Badia in late 90s and I used to visit him regularly.

The local government can't really do much to salvage the situation as the state government has taken over their responsibilities.
It's a shame to see as sometimes, I do pass through this area.

Mizwisdom:
95% of people living there are from Yoruba tribe in particular (Kwara state). They live there because they don't want to pay rent for a decent accommodation. They have satellite dishes in most of those houses some even work. The place is dirty because the people are very dirty and lazy.

foolish suggestion ....so you mean other tribes are not in ijora......i know ijora...well well...yes Lagos as a state is a Yoruba state....that does not mean....igbosa are not scattered around....every town in Lagos

look lemme tell you ijora..badia..have igbos struggling there hausas....and other ethic tribes all make up there ...

You are right sir. I think government need to do something to save Ijora fro deplorable state. My office in there as you mentioned on your write up. We see things every day, the roads are bad, Trailers every where. Whenever it rainfall you can't find a place to put your legs. Those living there do not care about their life's,l.

It is extremely shameful that a place such as this still exists in Lagos in 2018. It is more shameful that Lagosians continue to elect leaders that cannot add values to the lives of ordinary people.

How on earth should human beings be living under that kind of environmental condition?

It is high time Lagosians began to ask critical and crucial questions before electing their leaders.

For instance, Ijora-Badia is under a local government; the local government belongs to a constituency, a senatorial district etc. In other words, the local government chairperson, their representative in the house of assembly and indeed other political leaders from that area should speak for them.

I will like to recommend that the next governor of this state should make reformation of slums in Lagos State a priority.
