RockHard: The data is not based on regional population but ethnic origin and every sane Nigerian knows the number of Igbos living outside the South East is far more than the number living in the South East. For example, Ndigbo are said to make up 45% of Lagos population and own 75% of landed properties in Abuja. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The Ndoki people of Nigeria are inhabitants of the lower Niger Delta basin. Most of our people are located on the southeastern section of the Imo River and the Aba/Azumini River. Our neighbors are the Annangs in Akwa Ibom State to the east, Ngwa people to the north, Asa clan to the west and the Ogonis to the south. The Justice Mamman Nasir boundary adjustment commission of 1976 balkanized the Ndokis. The commission divided our clan between three different states, Abia State, Akwa Ibom State and Rivers State. Ndoki people occupy all of the present day Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, seventeen of the twenty villages of Oyibo Local Government Area of Rivers State and three villages in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. There have been several historical documentations about how the Ndokis migrated to their present day homeland. The most commonly accepted belief is that we are culturally and philosophically related to the Bonny and the Opobo people of Rivers State. History tells us that Eze, the founder of Ndoki, settled in Obunku Okwanku. His three sons, Ihu Eze, Nwankwo Eze and Iloko Eze, upon attaining adulthood left home to set up their own homestead. Ihu, being the oldest stayed closer to home. Nwankwo and his offsprings founded Azumini, Akirika and the related villages collectively known as Ikwuoriator. Ihu and his children founded the Umu Ihueze group of villages, which includes Umuagbai and Afam. Iloko and his children founded the Ikwueke group of villages, which includes Akwete and Obohia. FemiMaduka: According to your piece of Ndoki history, Ndoki people occupying 3 villages in Ukanafun LGA of Akwa Ibom implies that they make up a tribe in the state?! Dude the number is too negligible...stop spreading falsehood homey. There's no Igbo tribe in Akwa Ibom, maybe in your dreams though. If you say there a lots of Igbos in Akwa Ibom, I would certainly agree with you. Same can be said about other tribes. Stop spreading falsehood. |

Study didn't take into account that Most ethnicity in the south have dynamic populations. That is most migrated populations compared to the north. The biggest migrated are the Igbos, followed by the Yoruba. |

eclecticbaron: The problem with you guys is that you find it hard to accept the bitter truth. Your emotions take the better part of you and force you to want to stick to a convenient narrative - even when it has been proved to be baseless. There are Igbo natives of Akwa Ibom state! That is a fact. They may not be as much as the Efik, Ibibio or Anang, but they sure hold an equal stake in the state - as far as it goes. What constitutes being from a state - isn't it the geographical phenomenon of one's dormain falling within the state? Whether you accept or not, your non-acceptance will not yank them off from within Akwa Ibom. Except if you have another meaning to what coming from a state means. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Your premise is faulty unless those active voice data includes tribes or state of origin. There might be more I now in Lagos than there is in Ebonyi state. RockHard: |

FemiMaduka: O please spare me your narrative. If that's what you mean, then there are native Ibibios too in Igbo states example in Abia state and they equally hold a stake in the state as far as it goes. Obviously if you settle in any community for a certain number of years it makes you a part of it, going by that analogy there are Ibibio natives who are also from Igbo speaking states. If that's the case what's the point you are trying to make? Get a grip man. Why is it that guys like you always think you can force people to agree with you but you don't want to see things from other people's perspective? In your words 'Your emotions take the better part of you and force you to want to stick to a convenient narrative - even when it has been proved to be baseless.' The emotional gist seems like a very convenient narrative for you, I've been following your convo on this issue and you throw that around, baselessly if I could borrow that from you. |
