I'm not sure FirstBank Sec market is really 13%. I bought a 337 days with N3m, and I got N357k+. I'm still fuming and regretting why I didn't transfer to Stanbic. FBN secondary market is total rip off. And to make it unnoticeable, they never sent an email or SMS alert. NGN3,825,627.11CR was my account balance prior to the subscription. The lady at the desk said it was 13% for 337 days. On checking new account balance after sub, I now have NGN1,182,695.95. Let the previous old bills mature, and that's the end. FBN is a bad choice in TBills Secondary market. At 13%, its supposed to be N390k. A loss of almost N40k. 1 Like |

Dreamflyin: Personally, I don't like secondary market. You should have bought primary market this week na. Or wait two weeks for another primary market. You may not know it but the difference of 1% in interest rate is actually something that's very huge to ignore. I did a quick calculation and saw that you were supposed to get roughly 360k. But according to you, you got 357k. Somehow, it is still in order. 5 Likes |

Dreamflyin: You didn't invest for 364 days. It's 337 days. Do ur calculations again and you will see it's in order with only a minor margin maybe from commissions 13% of 3m is 390k. This is for 364 days. Since you did 337, you need to resolve it to know interest for one day which is 390,000/364 which is about N1,071. Multiply N1,071 by 337 and you get around 360k. Or perhaps 361k. Continue this calculations to know what your bank balance will look like. Also check if there are other minor deductions but the margin is little. If you ask me, the problem is that first bank gave you a low rate for that tenor. 6 Likes |

Ifelove1 got 450k, how did you arrive at yours? What if the capital is N9.6m? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Ifelove1(m): 12:11pm On Nov 17, 2018 |
Indigbo:I think I misunderstood your question. I thought you asked two separate questions. 9,450,000 * (11.7/100) * (98/364) = 297,675 9,600,000 * (11.7/100) * (98/364) = 302,400 |

Nnamz: I think I have an idea, but mentioning why might get me blocked again, as I have been banned twice now, just got freed from the second ban. That word starts from a C and ends in y. Sad that I can't write what I wanted though as it was something I feel enlightens, if I get banned again after this I will know it's deliberate, as I never advertised anything or created anything spam-ish in nature. 1 Like |

Freedem: If the rate never appreciates to 600, then the guy is screwed.. Mind you the dollar has been devalued by 222 naira over the period of 15 years , that's enough time to make a profit. If you look at the graph , you will see dips that you can capitalize on to make a profit.. The people who scream inflation act like it's a compounding phenomenon.. eg Inflation maybe 12% this year and 17% next year , that's only an increase of 5%, whereas your total interest on tb if your yearly average is 14%, means a total of 28% in two years ..that's s profit of 23%. As have been expressed earlier nobody knows what the exchange rates will look like , it may go up, but in the interim there's lots of opportunities to make a profit.. Need I remind you that Somalias currency has gained significant value over the last 5 years , so it can happen. I need to understand this please. See this scenario. If inflation rate is 12% this year and in 2019 its 14%. That's 2% rise. If I do t bills at 15% in 2019, does it mean that I gained 13% because of 2% rise. Or that I gained 1% because inflation is 14% in 2019. Gonfreecss1 Feelamong Ahiboilandgas Nl1960 Zamirikpo Acidosis Realityshot Et al |

Please when was the last TBills sold by CBN and when is the next one coming up? It seems like Zenith Bank is playing games with me. I gave them instruction to invest 1.6 million in TBills for 90 days tenor since last week Monday, yet the money has remained in my account. They tried to dissuade me against TBills and rather wanted me to go for FD but I refused flatly based on better interest rates of the former. I need to know the date please, and also if it's possible to go for secondary market and invest for just 2 months instead of 3. HELP PLEASE! |
