All this omoota mentality y'all bring here is irritating at best

Even if he gets sent to the stands, the authorities would be forced to take notice and investigate his claims. That's how things are done.

Salisu Yusuf will achieve the same Feat with the current Squad. Rohr did nothing extraordinarily. He's tactically inept, just lucky he has a big Pool of Talents at his Disposal now.

Even Komekn and Forgiveness will lead us to AFCON with the Talents we have accross the World at the moment.

By the way, the same Baxter got 4 Points, beat Rohr with 2 un-replied Goals in front of his Employers, Fans away from Home.

I was expecting Rohr to protest the horrible officiating at the end of the match interview but the old donkey couldn't utter a word. Shameful.

This is slowly becoming a pattern, African sides are robbing us and getting away with it. First it was Algeria being awarded a non existent penalty and being spared a clear red card, now two clear goals discounted against SA. If we continue to tolerate this rubbish it will affect us one day in a crucial match.

Pinnick and Rohr must insist on an investigation into this match. This thing is no longer funny.

What if them Don bribe amajuPinnick join... They sha want SA to qualify... Libya go beat them Las Las

The point is in the absence of Mikel you should have a solid alternative to Iwobi regardless. Eze comes to mind. Even Mikel will not give you 100% every matchday. You always need to have a solid replacement in every department. That’s our problem.

Anybody who still defends Rohr is simply blind. At the end of the 1st half I already knew it was not a good day for Iwobi and KC. But Baxter was still the first to make the first sub. What bothers me about this team is that Rohr have kept most of the players together for about 3 years now, but we cannot still string good passes consistently. On the other hand, SA have brought On several new names but you can always count on them to give u a good game regardless of the result.

IMO this team will not win the AFCON.
guy you need to calm down and look at the game dispassionately.

The performance was a professional one. If not for the blunder on the part of the ref/lines and kc totally forgetting the concept of first touch then all this nitpicking would be unnecessary.

We controlled the game for the most part, had more shots on goal, had more clear goal chances, more corners yet you are angry because we didn't play champagne tiki taka as if we have barca/man city level players.

You don't make subs just for the Sake of it we were in control while the South Africans needed the win so logically they made the first change to freshen things up.

Now I'm not saying rohr is the messiah who cannot do any wrong or be criticized but let's all try and give realistic observations not emotional ones just because our team didn't play sexy football beating every opposition with cricket scores. For the records I also think rohr is not the long term solution

So if you are a gambler, you do put money for Nigeria to qualify in a group comprising Croatia and Argentina?

If we were so sure that we stood no chance against them, why then did they waste taxpayers' money to fly the Super Eagles all the way to Russia to get their asses whipped?.

We went there because it was expected that the SE stood a chance.

Rohr fawked up big time today. First with the starting formation. Why change the 4-2-3-1 that got us three consecutive victories leading to this match?. Food for thought.

Second with his shocking inability to read the game as it progresses. Even a layman could see that SA was killing us from the wings. Kalu, apart from the own goal he caused, was out of sorts at RWB. We were struggling to move the ball from defence to attack. The logical thing would've been to switch to a our normal four man back line. But Rohr.....

4-2-3-1 with what midfield exactly??
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 5:56pm On Nov 17, 2018
This team is not a delight to watch. I was so marveled with our play after the first ten minutes of the game that I had an urge to come here and say this is best I’ve seen the SE okay in a long time, but I didn’t have my phone on me.

There is nothing professional about failing to string good passes from defense to attack. SA don’t have Barca players either. That’s the only criticism I have shared on the team today. And that’s objective. As regards the timing of subs I can’t believe some people can still defend Rohr in this.

Modified
They needed the win most don’t mean we were in control of the game in the run of play.

Did this pull of talents suddenly appear after two years? We missed this tournament two years ago. When Shuabu Amodu was churning out result with his brand of football, It's criticism like this that caused NFA to stop him from taking us to world cup after qualifying us twice.

Once again, I will say it, until we have one alternative that is as good as the main guy in each positions for the SE, we would continue to wail and wail when the main guy is injured or absent.

When last did we have a string of 5 games without the main guy available and we didn't miss the main guy? We always find out that we wouldnt do the "if Mikel was here now, if Ndidi was here,.... Ebuehi wouldnt do what this new guy is doing, etc" if we had good competition!!!

It may not look that necessary, some of us here may quote, but can't we just upgrade from the usual usual and move on from the common common for once?

Etebo and Ogu/Ajayi as double pivot with Iwobi as AMF in a 4-2-3-1 with Aina at RB would've served up a better game than this filth of a match we played today.

The #RSANGA drama..... My take - Part 1

1). Firstly I want to address those always insulting Gernot Rohr to have some dignity and show some respect for the man. He just officially qualified us for our First Afcon in bloody FIVE years!!! The last time we were at the Afcon was in 2013 and Missed out on the last two editions in 2015 and 2017 especially when we had no business missing out. Rohr has brought us back into it despite losing the first game. He lost the first game in the Qualifying series but he have had gone on to top this group and bring us back into the Afcon party. He deserves respect and commendation for that first before the usual knocks on his tactics and some decision makings can kick in again. I also have certain things against Rohr but bottomline... Rohr has delivered on his mandate so far and must be commended. The next focus now shifts to gearing up for an assault on the Afcon title.

2). This is for those who will inevitably (ohhh they already have actually... Surely won't miss such sweet belittling opportunity would they? After all, to some here, it is their Oxygen on this thread... Lol) come here to resume the "Nacho is crap" song.

Now listen, Nacho was having a decent enough game until that moment of absolute nonsense. He was simply supposed to stop the ball and tap in!!!... Come on, it is a bloody tap in!!! Not hard to do now is it? The real Nacho will bury that every day of the week even with his eyes close but today... No f**King way!!! He lost it! He totally bottled it. I mean, what an arrant show of rubbish in that one moment. Something is definitely psychologically wrong with that young man at the moment and he needs a re-touch of the anointing.

Butttttt.... I won't allow that one moment blind me to the other parts of the game where Nacho did show up. It is not as if he was the only one who had such a bad moment... Iwobi too was crap for the later parts but it is because he tried to do so much at the same time with no end product in sight. He tried to press and orchestrate at same time... Which is not possible and he tired out and he started giving away balls in the middle and in certain critical moments. Musa was one of our best today but he too had one or two bad moments but the worst just have to be Nacho's because his was a f**King goalscoring opportunity!!

Anyway, aside that one moment of Lukaku "first touch" syndrome from Nacho,

- Nacho was the one who created the first goal wrongly ruled out for offside. He found Musa, who was actually onside, intelligently before going ahead to convert the return pass. That was a legitimate goal but wrongly cancelled. Game went on...

- Nacho even after that bad first touch moment which is a major taking point, went on to still show flashes of his brilliance with a beautiful side-heeled key pass for Kalu which was a chance that didn't yield fruit in the end.

- Nacho linked up well in the beginning of the game and was having a very decent game on the left side of attack in the final third but the truth is that Iwobi didn't create much either. Musa who is obviously the fastest player in the Super Eagles and one of the fastest of the continent even had to rely on his pace to carve out a few runs and half chances.

In all, Nacho may have had that very silly first lukaku Moment but He is still a quality player with lots to offer. This is definitely a bad psychological episode for the lad and he needs to bounce back soon. I trust he will be back from all these nonsense going on in his head...

In fact, what am I waiting for? That Demon of bad first touch trying to corrupt the talents of Nacho!!! That Evil and vain spirit of Lukaku first touch syndrome... Be gone!!! Just imagine if this was a WC final and that was a final chance for us to win and Nacho's first touch issues resurrected again outta no where? Tufiakwa!!! This syndrome gotta go!!! Kabayakata!!! Huberenambatooombaa!!!! That Demon of the most ludicrous first touch of the Lukaku kind... Lose your grip over Nacho!!! What nonsense!!!

Nacho despite that poor first touch (I wonder why he did not go for an outside left foot control and a swipe shot. Trying to use his right was a very wrong decision.

Apart from that he worked hard and did well.

As for Rohr, he knows how to set up the team for results but I do not see him having the ability to help our team fly. We have a lot of quality players but Rohr's set up is pulling the team down in quality performances.

Good result overall but not impressed at all.

Oga, forget patriotism, truth is we don't have quality. Rhor has tried. I don't have tactical knowledge of football so I won't criticism him on that. My issue with him is that he keeps players that are obviously tired on pitch for too long and talking down on not having quality players at the world cup - even though that's the fact.
