We need Billing and Akpoguma in our team. Onuachu deserves a look in. Akpoguma could be the perfect completion of Oyibo wall if we are to play 3 at the back

Sad to say but he does raise a point. We need to give some players playing time.

Another person who has not had enough time to be tested is Onyekuru
He raised a point but puts it to death by adding Kayode grin

Hopefully we line up good friendlies(against African opponents) before AFCON proper, a total of 4 good friendlies both home & away. That way we can test

I didn’t watch the first half. I hope our midfield is finally taking shape. Ndidi, Iwobi, and Agu? Not bad

TheSuperNerd:
Mikel Agu is a quality DM option. I think I will pick him over Onazi right now. Against a solid African opposition like Uganda, Agu stood tall. He may gatecrash the Final 23 if he finishes strong this season.

Honestly, with Onazi away, I think we are covered in Agu but again we need to move in for Philip Billing soon.

Ajagun particularly has not been impressive this season. But do we have any other AM options?

Brief highlights review of the game #NGAUGA

These Ugandans made me ask if na World cup Qualifiers we dey play abi whether we get cup we dey fight for... They were too rough and were doing all they could to intimidate our players physically. At a point even Iwobi has to man up and use his body strength to good effects to keep the Ugandans off him. He also got into a mini-scuttle with a Ugandan to show that even as an aje-butter kid, he cannot be trampled upon. Iwobi is becoming a man in African Football.

Samuel Chukwueze was their biggest worry in the first half. Osimhen too was trouble especially in the air. I like the look of Osimhen as a no.9. He proves more of a threat than even Isaac Success but Success remains a beast. He kept up physically with those Ugandans too.

In the second half, another Samuel in Samuel Kalu took over from where Chukwueze left off and was a super thorn in the flesh. If not for the fact that it was a friendly he would have gotten that Ugandan No 8 sent off. That guy and the Ugandan left back had no answer to the dribbles of Kalu apart from just fouling the lad.
Kalu is a player that can dash yellow cards to an entire defence.... Lol... Very skilful and strong on the ball too. His centre of gravity is very balanced too.

Semi Ajayi had a smooth game. Misplaced a pass only once. I like the look of him but the Ugandans didn't really threaten us much so will need another game to rate him further.

Collins was quite improved today. Excellent overlap and delivery in that first half for Osimhen who did his best getting to that ball but a defender and gk were in The way. He got bamboozled once though by Emma Okwi later in that first half on his side of defence but we mopped up the danger maturedly.

Idowu was decent on the right. Seemed comfortable. Nothing much to say really. Just put in a decent shift.

The pitch was terrible. So terrible infact and there is no bloody way this Asaba ground stand a chance of being considered a long term home of the Super Eagles for competitive matches. No way!!! So that talk by Gov.Okowa is just for TV alone. In reality, it is not happening.

The commentators were boring. Victor Ezeji and who was that again? They were even struggling to recall the name of Echiejile. Haba. They reeled out no stats.... Except the fact that Uganda has no conceeded in Five games and that they have won the Cecafa title 14 times.

As for the Ugandans, they were very solid, running after every ball and took this game like a final. They used their physical attributes from beginning to end and Mikel Agu really killed himself in that midfield matching the Ugandans power for power and bone for bone. Even when he was up against Three Ugandans in the battle for a loose ball in midfield, he won it and won a foul too... Mikel Agu was class today. Ogu did well on the overall in Central defence apart from one "Lago" he did... Lol
In midfield, he also stayed back and helped shield as Agu was really working himself into the ground matching the power of the Ugandans in the middle and to the sides.

The Ugandans really bored me to be honest. I knew they were going to be so defensive but mehn, their rough marking tire pesin...

In conclusion, just glad this game is over... Decent test, hard game, rigourous workout for the boys... Impressed with the debutant and the returnee debutant.

Abeg make Uganda carry their rough wahala and boring football tactic dey go...
Apart from moments of real action which came through Chukwueze's drive, Osimhen's push for a goal, and Kalu's daring skills through the Ugandan players and some other moments like that... Uganda's die hard defensive football, the pitch and the boring commentators made me yawn at several points...

Thanks.

Like Eze(Cmf), Abdul (Amf), Agu(DMF), Kayode (Striker).

These players should be given more minutes to prove themselves. We saw what Agu did today.

Ogu should be sent parking. Onazi must be returned.

Eze's time will surely come if he indeed wanna represent

Abdul ; I presume that he is not in great form otherwise, you must be posting news about him

Agu; This is his best game since he came into the fold

Kayode; hasn't been so great

Onazi? He's still in GWG though he.....

Ogu to retirement? grin why?

All in all, this is our best legs save for foreign borns who are scared to say their mind cool cool

To be fair Andrew, Kayode has not even played much this season. So it is not about him impressing now sef. It is about him getting to feature more so as to get the chance to impress.

That is why I just dey cough for Forgiveness. Lol

Have obi mikel retired from international football ?

onuachu is not bad but we are not lacking strikers at the moment. rohr major headache should be how to rejuvenate our aging midfield and also to add more quality in defense. billing is already performing in a top league and deserves to be approached formally, akpoguma currently is not rated by the german team handlers so rohr should revisit him, the likes of eze and ejaria are young bloods who when incorporated to the team will grow and mature with the team, while real zaragoza's igbekeme should be tried.

We finished the game with Success, Kalu, Onyekuru, Simon Moses and Iheanacho all on the field....

The only midfielder on the field when the whistle blew was Mikel Agu.

Abeg, what formation was that? Lol...

Mikel - Xavi/Kroos

Ndidi - Busquets/Casemiro

Iwobi - Iniesta/Modric

Been singing it in various forms in times past in a midfield trio. Ah well... Time.

Akpoguma should be left alone IMO. He has been approached but is still keeping his "options open" waiting for Germany. The question is when will come to his senses?
