I was opportuned to watch the first half before I abandoned the match. Here are my deductions: Samuel Chukwueze is a quality player with potential. He possess skills needed in a winger. He played like a professional. No jittering. He is one for the future. Osimhen has improved. Our Midfield still needs strengthning. We need a regista who can control play from deep. Finally, Rohr did not disappoint once again. *smiles* 4 Likes |

oga we are the one in need so i see nothing wrong if rohr revisit him. french youth international who has a Moroccan father have been approached severally by renard refused playing for for morroco but that didnt stop the coach to still push till date.make we no dey form pride wey we no get. if akpoguma is approached through his agent and management team i guess he may accept playing for us. moreover he has not shut the door on us yet. zaha initially turned the civ down but want happened later? Will he come good immediately if he made the switch? I don’t think he has reached his full potential . But at least let’s secure him for our Olympic team. Odunayaw: |

Why not? They are not similar players. They should be able to complement each other. Agu is closer to Onazi than Ndidi in style of play. TheSuperNerd: |

charlesemeka85: In need? Not sure we are that desperate. It is Akpoguma we are talking about here not the Ramos, Boateng and the Koulibalys of this world. Akpoguma is not in the class of Zaha talent wise. I just pity am. By the time hin eye go clear, he fit no see chance for SE again |

Super Eagles Player Ratings : Ajayi The Best; Chukwueze, Mikel Catch The Eye; Iwobi Not Decisive; Kalu Skillful; Akpeyi Not BotheredNigeria settled for a 0-0 draw against Uganda in an international friendly match on Tuesday. It will be recalled that the two teams have already qualified for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon. The warm up was keenly contested by the Super Eagles and the Cranes at the Stephen Keshi Stadium. Allnigeriasoccer.com rates how Nigeria players fared in the exhibition. The Starters Daniel Akpeyi : He kept his composure and did not show signs of nervousness. Akpeyi has proved he can be reliable upon in future. 6/10 Brian Idowu : The Lokomotiv Moscow man showed his leadership qualities and excelled in a right back role. 6/10 Jamilu Collins : Solid as usual at the left back position and proved strong when defending. 6/10 Semi Ajayi : Our man of the match. The centre back proved rock-solid at the back. He made some timely interceptions inside the box. The former Arsenal man was decisive. 7.5/10 John Ogu : Another confident display from the Hapoel Beer Sheva man. He put up a good shift. 6/10 Oghenekaro Etebo : The Stoke City man was quiet but got the job done. He made good use of his body. 5/10 Mikel Agu : He played in a familiar central midfield role and he was outstanding. His distributions were perfect and accurate. 7/10 Alex Iwobi : The Arsenal man continued his runs in channels. But his delivery at times wasn't decisive. 5/10 Samuel Chukwueze : It was a brilliant debut from the Villarreal youngster who was menacing. He bossed the right flank with his mobility and skills. 7/10 Ahmed Musa : Musa did really exert himself at the left hand side. He worked hard for the team. 6/10 Victor Osimhen : Osimhen did make a lot of impact in the first 45 minutes he spent on the pitch. He came close to scoring but was hesitant. 5/10 The Substitutes William Troost-Ekong : The Udinese defender came on in the second and did well to stay afloat by getting into the mix. 6/10 Isaac Success : Isaac Success was assertive and used his strength and ball control to good use. 5/10 Samuel Kalu : He came on to replace Samuel Chukwueze as a right winger and did well to push the Cranes back. His crosses were well delivered. 6.5/10 Moses Simon : Showed flashes of brilliance when he came on but faded as the minutes ticked by. 5/10 Henry Onyekuru Very little to say about him after coming on. He didn't see much of play. 4.5/10 Kelechi Iheanacho : The Leicester City man barely had a touch of the ball before the referee ended the match. N/A |

neither are we the Spain,Germany,Brazil,France,Belgium or the resurgent dutch of this world. we must have talents in abundance before we can overlook some who are qualified to play for us through their parents. akpoguma atleast sees regular playing time in the german top flight so if we can be able to convince it will be a win win situation for us. the duo of ekong and balogun were not in akpoguma's level when they had their chance with the team, so they were no ramos, boateng or koulibaly of this world then and are yet to to get to the level of the aforementioned defensive stalwarts Clementoke: 1 Like |

Agu was average to me. Our midfielders cannot win a tackle to save their lives. Onazi must be returned. I must credit Rohr because this is 2 matches in a row with a vacationing keeper. The first half was poetry in motion |

charlesemeka85: Don't get me wrong sir. I support every move that is directed towards Foreign born Nigerians Akpoguma inclusive. No one is overlooking Akpoguma who I see as a good player. The good thing is that he has been approached after which he asked to be given time to see if Germany might still call him. I see no sense in reaching out to him again before he makes up his mind If we pursue him too hard, that will be desperation bro. If Akpoguma doesn't play for us heaven will not fall. I hope you remember that Awaziem did not even make the squad for this international matches. 3 Likes 1 Share |

No be fight. The man has his own career just as you do. If his inclusion will serve Nigeria well, then good for us. It’s his choice to make. Ours is to always look at what is in it for us. At the end of the day if we get him, it could be a win-win situation. Honestly, if Uduokhai’s stats this season was good enough, I would prefer an approach in his direction. Torunarigha na no go area. Clementoke: |

You have a point. How we make the approach matters a big deal especially at this stage. At least he should be aware we are still interested but we don’t have to make another official move. Clementoke: |

My only problem with Agu is his constant back passes. He was too cautious with his play. He lacks confidence to move the ball forward. 1 Like |

Rohr does not rate Henry as we do here. Our attack is ok for now. Ighalo, Success, Iheanacho Osimhen in that order can serve us for now. We are also spoilt with options too on the flanks. Musa, Simon Moses, Kalu, Henry, Chukwueze in that order too. Our defense is okay for now. I don't see us having a problem if they are all fit. Balogun, Ekong, Omuero, Awaziem, Ajayi, Ebuehi, Collins, Aina, Idowu. We are well covered here too. Areas that need urgent fixing are GOALKEEPING DEPARTMENT. A young 3rd choice Goalkeeper is needed. Shouldn't be older than 24years. MIDFIELD DEPARTMENT. We need to recruit solid midfielders to be a backup to these guys. (Suggestions in the bracket) Iwobi(Eze) Ndidi(Philip Billing) Mikel(will be hard to replace - Rohr and his scouts should widen their net) Ogu-desent but aged Etebo-epileptic player(today he is good, tomorrow he is a passenger) The following players should either sit up or be excused from the team. Iheanacho Etebo Idowu Excusing them might do them a lot of good as they will see more reasons to sit up. Pampering them by handing them callups based on ancient time performance will not bring the best out of them. It is so sad that these guys see the national team as their birthright. This will not only affect their international football output but it will turn them to lazy players at their respective clubs too. Imagine Rohr dropping Nacho. That boy will do anything possible to find his mojo back so as not to miss AFCON 19. But Baba Rohr no de reason like that. He is a loyalist. Idowu's goal and performance against Argentina last year November is still the reason he is invited. The National team should be competitive in all areas and no player should be indispensable. The 3named players have been given enough time and repetitive chances to redeem themselves but they have failed to do the needful and they don't seem worried. 5 Likes |
