First time I heard it, I was completely blank. Had to listen again to even begin to form an opinion.
THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.
Then I began to take apart the song.

- Chen's start is always so startling. Like even when I KNOW the song's about to start, I still feel slapped in the face. In my mind, I say, 'me neither' 90% of the time.

- The warped voices I honestly could do without.
This is like the only thing I can say I genuinely have a slight issue with in the song.

- Sehun's rap!!!! The way he starts and ends abruptly, then Suho goes "baby gurrrlllll", I appreciate his growth a lot.

- Chanyeol's rap!!!! My bias for him aside, you can tell how confident and comfortable he was recording this.
When you watch the live performances, it's even better. He slayed really, though I'm not surprised.
My favorite rap of his in this album is SIGN though.

- WHEN THEY SLOWED IT DOWN AFTER SINGING "DON'T SLOW IT DOWN FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!"
This is MY FAVORITE part of the song.
When Kai says "oh no", I FEEL IT.

- Xiumin, Chen and D.O's cheeky little harmonization. It's so well done and LIGHT sounding. Xuimin sounds like a bird. I thought THIS was the bridge.

- THE A CAPELLA!!!!! Suho and Baekhyun did justice to this part BUT allowing Baekhyun those extra seconds to tease the ears with those little sexy a** runs of his was GENIUS.

- Finally, Chen's high note. I know a lot of people wanted a D.O high note BUT I'm not one of them. Chen is my whiny baby and I love it.

To me, this entire album belongs to Chen.
He got so many STAND OUT parts in each song, I'm so proud.

As usual with EXO's album, the title track is NEVER THE BEST TRACK!!!!!!!
It's just 'pretty wrapping paper'.
This is one of the reasons why other groups don't match up.

Sehun killed me, I didn't esperedit, I mean dude did not have to snap like that, like I shock die, I was like wait o, is this Sehun, his rap here completely made me forget how underwhelming he sounded in we young. (there's an appreciation post coming for this boy, I can feel it).

Unique taste, listen to tempo a few more times and you will realize why it is the title track. It was the same for us initially. I was team Damage for title track but the more I listened the more sucked in I got.

Smile on my face is still my number one in this album for now not because it is better than the other songs but because it does something to and for me that the others don’t.

This is the first time I have paid proper attention to Monsta and everytime they perform this song I am definitely on Venus.

I used the whole of yesterday's public holiday to re-review my groups, it was fun lol, usually when a group changes their sound and fans start complaining that they should have stuck to their former sound, I roll my eyes and think shut up, change is the only constant thing in nature, music shouldn't be one dimensional, experimentation is good. But alas today I have to be a little like those netizens , Vixx has been going for more of a subdued/sensual/classic sound and while it is all fine and good, I mean Ken's vocals can kill any song, I kinda sorta miss the old vixx, I'm very big on powerful, noisy but melodious chorus which was vixx's Forte so even though I love what they've been doing since their shangri la Comeback, I still miss the power behind tracks from their error, voodoo doll and Hyde days. I'm glad they still take their storylines and symbolism seriously. Vixx are the kings of concept in kpop, right down to their choreographies.

P. S: I miss ravi screaming or whispering his name before he raps, it used to be annoying, then it became fun, then it just stopped.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.
My favorite songs are always the ones that get better as you listen to them.
If I listen to a song once and like it then on subsequent repeats I find nothing else in the song, I move on.
It's why FOREVER and SIGN are my favorite EXO songs.

I've listened to them almost everyday since I first heard them and they've refused to tire me. Especially Forever that has been longer on my playlist.
