My (hopefully) unbiased opinion : highlights song is a solid song, a ballad, it's their usual sound and they did it justice. Junhyung and yoseob were flawless in their way as usual.

B1a4's song is OK, it's usual boy group fare, not outstanding not terrible either.

Uhm jung hwa's was released as an ost, it features deok Bae, lemme just say I am always amazed by this woman, she's probably in her 50s now and still performs like an idol", the strength she has, I bet she's into eating healthy and all that boring stuff lol, anyway the song is good. The rap tho short fits with the song.

If I had to score highlight would get a 3/5, b1a4 2.5/5, and uhm jung hwa a, 3/5

I won't pretend that I don't have a bit of angst towards SM with regards to NCT

BUT

I tried to put that aside and also watched the video twice before forming any concrete opinion.

My first thought was TOO LOUD, TOO MUCH GOING ON. Instrumentally I mean.
It got better with the second listen but it's still too much for me.
I take my creepy in tiny doses and the beginning was a bit too creepy for my taste.

They have a solid rap line as you can see from REGULAR and this new song but the vocal line wasn't left behind too much as with the former.

Is what they did called a capella too or was there a beat?
I know not but I liked it. That was my best part of the song really. It was finally quiet and the last two voices were really good. Especially the one with the deeper rasp in it.
You can really tell they have some good singers with this song which I applaud.

Sadly though, it's forgettable. Take away the music video and I have totally forgotten the chorus.
Even as I type, it's just not coming to me.

Regular is the better song for me but I'm not as disappointed as I thought I would be from the teaser.

I will watch a live stage of this song because I want to see them do the high note part. It reminds me of Chen in Monster and I really want to see if they can pull it off.

Finally, a WARNING!!!!!!
Don't use earphones.
If you must, reduce the volume. It starts of pretty strong and the vibrations don't really leave your head afterwards.

(I'm still trying to remember the chorus but my mind keeps remembering Regular and even Cherry Bomb)
