Hafeez89: Good day, I salute your concern and patriotism after reading through your post here on this topic. Please, i will like to ask for your advice and opinion on this sir: I am a graduate of Linguistics (Major) in Nigeria; CGPA of 3.44. And presently, I am willing to process a Masters' Degree in Helsinki, Finland. Which Universities offer courses on Humanities or International Relations there? I am hoping to start my degree there next year 2019. ALSO, are there any scholarship programmes please? Thank you so much. |

All of you asking for advice about schools in Finland here, don't you think Google is your best bet? Google your course and be country specific... It always pops up.... Read from page zero of this thread. Most of your questions have been answered. A lot of us here are awaiting decisions since July of this year. Read to know what's up. tysamuel: |

You dey hear word ni? If you like no help yourself by reading up... I am telling you that applications since June have not gotten decisions due to some propaganda going on in Migri. They make us from 3rd world countries wait for months (5 months or more, ask Phrantad, he waited for almost a year) while those from 'good' countries get a decision in 3 weeks. You dey here dey ask people about schools like say Google no dey, like say the reason why this thread long reach 290 na because we dey talk about egusi soup. Abi na only you waka come ni? All the answers you Seek are on this thread. Read, Oga. tysamuel: 1 Like |

so I spoke to a friend who works at migri, she said Nigeria is on the list of high-risk countries. on paper, you're meant to wait for 90 days while they investigate your application. Plus Migri was short staffed and they just recruited more than 40 ppl so let us hope for the best. 2 Likes |

Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by kofoironic: 7:30am On Nov 26, 2018 |
Hello everyone. For those of us still waiting for a decision, have you all sent Migri emails lately/today? If you look at your supplementary request letters, there is usually an immigration person who sends it on behalf of the team. You should also Cc the person in the email. Ask them for how long you should wait. Don't forget to include your customer number too. |

Marcopolo65: You said it all bro!!....I have once said it '3rd world countries'..I think we are paying the price of the bad predicament of some of our people over there...Just my own thought...Very bitter & frustrating experience! |
Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 9:31am On Dec 01, 2018 |
Hello everyone, Hope we are all doing well. So I received a negative decision regarding my Residence Permit application for studies from Migri on Wednesday 28th, November 2018 (that's 2 months after submitting the requested supplementary documents). The reason given was that they feel I would evade their rules in the country while also stating that my financial documents weren't credible enough. Most of the text in the decision doc were in Finnish (especially the explanations) as only the decision and the reason for denial were in English. Also, there's a new rule/act that applies to applicants from Third World countries stated in the document. Attached with the Residence Permit decision is an Appeal doc for instructions. I've been in contact with my Finnish university the whole time of the delay in which they also moved my admission along with my scholarship offer to next year 2019. I wish those of you still expecting a decision a positive outcome. |

Were you self sponsored or you have a sponsor? If you have a sponsor, did you submit clear documentation of where your sponsor's money came from? It is always about the money. So Sorry NeeYoh NeeYoh: |

kofoironic: My brother you are entitled to your own opinion(U might be right and u might be wrong) but it's always good to investigate before making any rash conclusion. Most time we are very quick to shift the blames on other people instead of accepting our mistake and looking for a way to better the situation. We all are not perfect even the white men (which even professors here will openly accept to not been sure in so many classes I've attended here). You said most people(abi u?) applied since June and haven't gotten response up till now. Why not ask yourself, was there anything I did wrong? Is there a way I could make it right? Did anyone apply during this period and have gotten a positive response from migri? What has such person done differently from mine? PS: B4 throwing punches at me, I applied in June and within 3 "working days" I got my decision. Please, if you package your application well and nothing looks shady and you provided all u need to provide, Finnish are very sincere. They will response to you in record time. Sorry for the long post. Just my candid opinion (which you are free not to agree to. 1 Like |
Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Yanganbiwa: 8:30am On Dec 04, 2018 |
NeeYoh: And this is a classical example with regards to my earlier post. "I submitted some docs available at the time but not all." This "could" mean means NeeYoh did not submit ALL the documents needed. When your application to study here starts taking long despite having scholarship, it simply means you did not package it well. It might take long (some are still positive) bc the outcome variables rest on their hand if they are convinced. But if you package your application well, their hands are forced to give u whether they like it or not. Thirdly and most importantly, if you are using a sponsor, your chances are like 50-50. There are so many documents and loopholes migri can exploit to deny you and you might get confused on what to present. The best way still remains self sponsor. |

NeeYoh:Did your school grant you 560 euros/month living expense? if they granted you both scholarship and stipend then no need submitting sponsors bank statement and dox. because i am quite confused. can u screen shot the new rule on third world countries and upload here. |

I said what I said: "most people" -- I have done my research. Your sanctimoniousness no be here. You talk like anyone would waste the time, money, and efforts just so they'd get denied or get kept waiting for more than 6 months (whether positive decision or not, is 6 months the legal time to keep people waiting for a RP for studies decision?)... Please go and sleep. Enjoy your 1 year RP, there is still another application you have to make to renew next year, and the probability that you may have to wait may be high. It is ridiculous that you think we did not move mountains here to apply for the RP, and it is also pitiable that you think the Finnish people are very sincere-- until you don't get that Job you qualify for because you're not Finnish. Boy, BYE. Yanganbiwa: 1 Like |

[/quote @ Yangabiwa, even though you are entitled to your own opinion, you should have at least be soft with your expression towards kofoironic, that you got yours on time shouldn't make you have too much bragging right as if every other applicant got there documentation wrong.i want you to realize it is God that make it possible, not your own effort or your so claimed 'proper documentation'.please try to be humble as much as you can. We are all aware of the anti-immigration campaign especially towards 3rd world countries citizens which we suspect is the cause of the delay, most of European countries are trying to be more strict with there immigration policy. If possible they have there wa,they will want to deny all of us.And for all of us still waiting for decision over 3-4 months now, I pray we all have a positive outcome. The mental stress is not funny, at least I knew close to 10 people which we are all still waiting,so to some great extent kofoironic is quite right.Let's stay positive, may God have mercy on us. 1 Like 1 Share |

nigerians get little power and start acting god. what an insensitive post. the fact that you got your residence permit on time means you are now an expert when it comes to application, right? such an unfortunate thing to say. if you could say all this just because of a year B permit, only God knows how condescending you'll be when you become a citizen. God help you Yanganbiwa: 1 Like |
