The reality is that this abroad ,many of you will not go there, if you like apply for visa till you die you just have to face your reality and start building your life and country. when you are young, you feel abroad is the place to succeed, the stress, the money and the energy, if you have used it in learning a very sell-able skills by age 30, you would have become very comfortable in Nigeria but you guys use the energy in queuing for visas, patronizing agents( why are the agents not applying for visas) and not even getting the visas, then hopelessness and despair troop in,you start running from church to church, you became broke and desperate and then reality comes through by that time you are already 38,nothing to show for. that is the reality of many wanna be immigrant. cool down, get your skills, work hard, sell your self and increase your bank account and you will be able to travel for holidays in that abroad. 4 Likes |

If you make it here (Nigeria) or travel to Western country to make it just know that you're fortunate and so lucky. Many people are repeating what you tried once and make it in a single attempt. What do you want someone like me to say? I pray for a breakthrough sha |

IBvoss: Where do I start with this? I will cede that there is a high probability for illegals to end up this way because by definition of being an illegal they are not equipped with the skills, knowledge, education, experience, and language required to participate in the economy of the host country. Because of this skill deficit, they end up in low paying jobs because this is the most they can achieve. The illegals and low skilled immigrants slowly become a burden to their hosts because they'll consume a disproportionate amount of government welfare where available without fair or equal contribution to the system. The case is different from immigrants who come in the proper way. Again, by definition of being legal immigrants, they typically would have met the skills, education and language requirements put in place by their hosts. This class of immigrants also referred to as high skilled immigrants usually come into their host countries enthusiastically and optimistically armed with the appropriate 'economic toolkit'. They are the ones best suited to climb the economic ladder and they do so generating wealth for themselves, their families and their communities. Examples of this abound in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada where high skilled immigrants from India and China, for instance, are seen as a net positive to their economic wellbeing. These countries have immigration policies designed to attract the upwardly mobile demographic of other countries and examples abound where such immigrants successfully occupy the middle to high-class rungs of those countries. These types of immigrants make significant contributions in fields such as technology and science through their innovative and entrepreneurial undertakings. Low skilled immigrants and illegals on the other hand, because of the reasons I had highlighted earlier, tend not to integrate successfully. Instead, they form ethnic and tribal ghettos with their attendant socio-economic woes in their host countries thereby further limiting their chances of economic success. We can see this in many European countries, and parts of the US(which has also benefitted from high skilled immigrants) and the wave of resistance growing against these types continues to climb daily. You are mistaken if you believe that the majority immigrants whether legal or illegal will be condemned to the lowest strata of their host countries. 5 Likes |

NwanyiAwkaetiti: i guess this is what they told you. you think working in Mercedes is a student job, dont let anyone deceive you, you cant work and study in the EU and earn 5000 euros per month as a student. it is impossible. 60,000 euros is like a yearly salary for professionals in the EU. 1 Like |

amanikondo: there are locals working in those companies but many of them dont learn any skills, they just come to work and work, complain about pay and mistreatment and collect salaries,i guess all their dream is abroad if they learn and copy some of those skills the chinese came with, i am sure they could have change company by now. chinese man will employ an european to do a job here in Nigeria, learn the skills of that european and will never call him back again, nigerian man will be slaving and toiling there instead of learning the skills and moving higher. we dont see the big picture in anything. 1 Like |

I sell cars and I can tell you with all boldness that it is easier to make it in Nigeria than abroad. Why do people abroad keep on shipping cars and goods to Nigeria if it was that bad? Those who try to paint Nigeria in a badlight here havent gotten their feet wet yet. It is very possible to have eyes and yet still be blind 2 Likes |

thebosstrevor:fact is just because u saw one or two doesnt mean its dat easy for many nigerian entrapeanurs.it could be very possible the guy is from a very wealthy family or well yo do and it was the family that set him up .some months back i saw on a programme on NTA about a female taxi driver who was formally a banker but changed her proffesion to a taxi driver.when she was interviewed she admitted that it was even her dad who.purchased the car for her .thats how nigeria has turned out.for migration to reduce then the.govt has to do its own job.let d govt provide the enabling environment and u will see that migration will drop. bashing ppl who migrate is a heartless gesture cos its not their fault. 3 Likes |

thebosstrevor: You may never be able to even travel. Because you're not sure what the aviation industry is going to strike about tomorrow. You can't be sure that when you have a knife cut, that tetanus injection you're getting isn't expired. You can't really tell when your children will graduate because ASUU strike. If they do in record time from a private university, how do you know traveling on bad roads won't kill them? You may get cancer from all the GMO Europe is dumping in Nigeria because NAFDAC, SON and the lot are busy with 'work'. Do you really want to know why we leave? So our children can have better opportunities. We don't want them to write JAMB and PUTME and be denied admission they can get on merit. We want to know that 911 can take our emergencies serious. And as citizens of the country we immigrated to, we want to know our votes count. Is that too much to ask?? 3 Likes 1 Share |
