If you are talking of historical ties, yes, you are correct. In fact, the whole of Northern Igbo territory, Anambra State all the way to Nsukka were colonies of Igala. The reason Igbos wear red caps is because the land was at one point under the rulership and suzerainty of Igala kingdom. We are under a new polity now and Anambra cannot be counted as North, not even Aguleri. Matter of fact, Idah, the capital of Igala Kingdom should never have been a member in Northern region. So let the issue of Aguleri going to North rest, no need for it. However, you are correct about Obiano supporting Buhari. I believe the two of them have a personal friendship that goes beyond ethnic difference and or party and religious difference. That's fine. He should not be demonized for having a Northerner as friend. Obiano is always on trips with Buhari, Im surprised he did not go with him to Poland.

The reason was that igala invaders were defeated in nsukka axis and pushed westward into anambra territory where recorded more success. The Aros had already settled Nsukka before then, plus the unfamiliar hilly terrain and the horsemen from Opi. Igalas fled to the plains of Omanbala basin and sacked all communities there who fled southwards . If you check Nsukka is densely populated on the igala boundary while anambra is scantily populated on the igala boundary

If you check the language and character of Nsukka people you will notice that they are not Igbos but Igala. The people that are called Igala in Anambra are pure Igbos with the same dialect as Onitsha people. Most people from the present Enugu state are mostly none Igbo stock with most of them having their origin from Benue and Kogi, this explains why most dialects in Enugu state are none Igbo. Igala people of Kogi and Benue people decimated the entire Enugu north area and occupied the place, they have also moved towards Ngwo, they were totally pushed back by the Aguleri warriors when they tried to infiltrate Omambala, they eventually overran Enugu state and occupied the present Nsukka up to Ngwo and kept expanding

Aguleri is the origin of Igbos, it is where you have Obu Gad, even Nnamdi Kanu who is from the dead Abia state had to go to Aguleri to pay homage at Obu Gad in Aguleri because he recognises that Aguleri is the origin of Igbos. Where you will see mostly non Igbo settlement is most parts of Enugu state, particularly Nsukka down to Ngwo. Languages spoken at Nsukka upto Ngwo is not Igbo language, they speak a mix of Igala and Benue language, but they are part of Enugu state. If an Nsukka person speak his language you will never understand it but if a Delta-Igbo or River-Igbo speak you will quickly understand it. In a nutshell Delta-igbos and Rivers-igbos are more Igbo than people from most parts of Enugu state.
