I feel there isn't going to be any noticeable difference in performance between the umidigi a3 and the pro in real life usage... am seriously considering going for the a3 than the pro

yes. I've tried both mtn and glo. I suspect it does that where in the 3g is not very strong . but at least it should stay on 3g when set to "3g only"

But when the 3G signal at home is bad, it would default to a lower band, regardless of preset definitions.......


Observe when you are out of this area or ask others around you, if they are experiencing the same issue.......

Download MTK engineering app
Go to MTK settings >Network selecting >choose sim card option > set to WCDMA only (3G only) or LTE only (4G only)
