how tedious it is to get admission for PhD in business administration... only one school offers PhD in business administration, which is university of tartu, and I also read online that all applicants are to write entrance exam but the PhD programs is free tuition fee. ... I have cgpa of 3.95, aggregate of 60+ ,what is the chance of being considered for admission?
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by Pesb(m): 11:29pm On Dec 10, 2018
From what I gathered, I think your CGPA is good to go.

The phD admission portal for UT will be opened by MAY 1st, 2019.

Prepare for the suggested research proposals.

Try to take an English proficiency test (IELTS, TOEFL and PTE) before hand.

Get all your application documents ready before the application period.

The phD program is tuition free.... confirmed and it comes with a monthly stipend of 660 euros and additional 400 euros which is based on your academic performance.

Mind you, Estonia has no visa representation in Nigeria for now.

Wish you luck!

Hello house...Jan 1 is just by the corner...

Just a question, I know for Taltech, a single 100Euro payment qualifies for two admission options (I didn't use this option this year, gonna do that surely for 2019)..My question is, if you've been offered admission on one of your selections before the other one, does it negate your chances on the other course of study? (I know this has been answered earlier this year but I just can't remember the response)...@Supplexx, how'd I reach you...my nairaland messaging box no dey work

For those who are just starting up, one thing I will advise, get the basics ready ..the admission process payment (usually 100Euros, atleast for Taltech), your motivation letter.. transcript (this one is a big issue if you attended public uni like myself, as we all know, Schools are on strike, so getting this out would be a big work, start asking how it'll work in your schools to know what needs to be done)..You can still write IELTS for Jan, don't miss the January option, else you might miss the admission window for documents submission...I think there are other bodies offering IELTS apart from BC..check around.

Also, drop all your questions on the page, forming WhatsApp whatever ehn na just rubbish and waste of time..you might get access to some legit info but if this wasn't open source at first, you would've have gained all the knowledge that led you to a WhatsApp group..be kind to humanity and yourself.

Peace

when given admission, u can apply for visa from any nearby country that has Estonian Embassy. Or u can get a visa to visit any Schengen country and then continue to Estonia. Or you can apply for visa from Belgium embassy Nigeria.

Is this application through Belgium Embassy still applicable?

I just checked the post...2014..that's a long while ago and moreso, not all Estonian embassy administers Visa...a Schengen visa won't give you the right to study or work in Estonia (leaders in the house, pls help me with this one).

I think it was mentioned in this thread that post graduate students can use Schengen visa to travel to Estonia as an alternative.........(after arrival can apply for TRP)

Our guys over there can clarify further.

Cheers

So where to get the visa?

This is the mail I got from Estonian embassy in Finland early this year.

Thank you for your inquiry. It is not possible to apply for your first visa from the Estonian Embassy in Helsinki because you need to have a legal document (visa or residence permit) for entering the Schengen area of Europe before travelling to Estonia or Finland.

"I understand the process for applying for the D-visa and residence permit for study in Estonia is complicated because Estonia has so few embassies. Have you considered applying for your documents at the Estonian embassies located in Egypt, Turkey, or India? You will find the full list of Estonian embassies that issue visas http://vm.ee/en/estonian-representations-which-are-handling-visa-applications "

So the idea is which of these countries are easily accessible?..and then you can plan for that

Estonia plans to open an embassy in UAE. Let's hope it happens before the requirement of obtaining visa. That would be a good option for Nigerians.

I don't think so...moreso, what would be their gain...I believe the message is quite clear enough...

What shortcomings did you notice?

I wouldn't want to bank on this.. regarding what I know about this, I wouldn't expect it before the next admission process

Hello House,
So far this thread has been a great source for information about studying in Estonia - God bless the contributors.
Is there any thread like this for working in Estonia please? Especially for someone that did not study there in the first place?
Thank you

If you want to come to Estonia for work, you need to first find a company that is willing to employ you, pass their tests and get an employment offer.
Then you can begin your process of applying for an Estonian visa.

visit the official website below for more information.

Good day everyone.
Thanks for the valuable information you share on this platform.
My brother just got admitted in EUAS Estonia, and needs to be on ground by January 25th.
At the moment, we are considering the Estonian embassy in Istanbul Turkey, considering things have become tough in Israel and Egypt.
What do you advise in getting a Schengen Visa?
How quick is the turn around time and what is the cost estimate?
Thanks for your time.

I believe it depends on a lot of factors like
1. Your previous academic grade.
2. I believe choosing a course that plays to your own strength is very important.
3. Your MOTIVATION LETTER.....(very important)
4. Your supporting documents I think
5. Don't forget God in your dealings bro..... Pray
Gurus in the house please feel free to add or correct anyone you feel I missed or shouldn't be among...
