Vaseline is a Barrier not a moisturiser- all it does is trap all manner of pollution and dirt. Wipe your Vaseline coated face with a damp cotton pad and see how much dirt will be on that cotton pad.
Shea butter
Aloe Vera gel
Coconut oil

I plan switching to coconut oil too but I don't know where to get the original. You know Nigerians and adulteration are 5 and 6.

I know it can be produced locally but can you mention where or how one can get the original coconut oil?
Make it yourself it’s not that hard

Very true, most people are already blessed with oily skin so they don't know how it feels having your skin break apart due to dryness.

Valerie47:
Sometimes I jealous people with oily skin, they don't know what they are enjoying during harmattan, People that have a very dry skin and lips are the one suffering it.

I thought because some Asian countries are tropical in nature they experience harmattan. One Indonesian man rejected the weather in the name of Jesus. grin
White people are found of getting a skin tan, by applying a tan cream or catalyst and stay in the sun, making their skin look tick. Like a fair person's color.
However, the word harmattan is actually the compound word, to Harm At Tan, meaning burnt or to make black.

This is the true answer. You cannot get a pure, unadulterated coconut oil in Nigeria markets. What you will mostly get is palm kernel oil mixed with a bit of coconut oil. Do it yourself is the best or use other moisturizing cream/oil.

I also want people to know that adulterated coconut oil cause the skin to blacken. So ladies beware.

Radiant1020:
Did you say warm and not hot water?
If you are in a place like zaria, you would want to cook your skin with hot water.

But thanks for the tips sha

With my coconut oil I am good to go. Never believed in it until I got some from my mum to apply on my hair but my spirit pushed me to use it as cream.
And for 3months now it's been my skin companion both morning and night. My skin is spotless, glows and I love it. Many don't believe that's what I use though. grin
