There was a time oil sold for as low as 15 dollars in the nineties ( when we were even more dependent on oil), nobody died then, so why now?
Now we have even a more developed Banking, financial,telecommunications, transportation and mining sector, Our private sector is now even way bigger than it was in the eighties and nineties (

Petroleum is still needed in production of rubbers, gels, fertilizers, synthetics. With polymerization you can produce virtually everything needed for day to day materials; piping, insulation e.t.c.

So yes, the world is moving away from using dirty fuels but it will still need petroleum for a very very long time.

The govts duty is to create a conducive environment for the private sector to thrive, through GOOD GOVERNANCE. Then business will build the cities. And they have. Almost all our cities (nationwide) have expanded due to new developments. Just have to look at Midrand, Sandton, Centurion. Dude, Jhb & Pretoria are now basically one city because of the new economic developments that have sprung up in Midrand.

The IMF have edited their projections, previously their projections was 5.5% or $95BB they now see Kenya's growth will be 6% in 2018 meaning we'll have a GDP of $98b in 2019, while TZ will grow at 5.8% to $60b...

But for Nigeria it doesn't make sense...it grows at 1% but adds over 5% of it's GDP

Remove SA, Africa's growth goes up. Add SA, it comes down. So you see, Nigeria is not the only country that held Africa back this year and last year. Angola is included too.

And you know one thing about predictions? they almost always never happen as expected.

Nigeria GDP was predicted to overtake SA in 2020, it happened in 2014.

Nigeria was expected to reach a trillion dollar economy 2019/2020, it's looking less likely to happen.

Japan was predicted to to overtake US in GDP, now it's struggling to catch up to China.

China was once predicted to hold some of the poorest people on earth, it sounds laughable now.

You can hardly find prediction that happens 100% as expected!

Their cost of production is less than 10 dollars.Some Saudi Oil you can literally scoop off ground..and can get to ship at 3 dollars.In other countries you need like 5km rig and even more extensive pipeline.Nigeria cost of production is 30 dollars plus.
